Download or read book Multi Disciplinary Approach to Research Emerging Paradigms written by Dr. Santosh Dhar and published by Allied Publishers. This book was released on 2022-03-26 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multidisciplinary approach in research is very much in vogue these days to address the problems of the society. It involves drawing appropriately from multiple disciplines to explore problems outside the normal boundaries and reach out to solutions addressed through different perspectives. Modern research looks through more multidisciplinary approaches and has dominance of problem solving and project oriented applied research. Multidisciplinary approaches while aiming at achieving a common goal attempts to develop answers to complex questions, which a single discipline is unable to handle. The growing research canon is to apply knowledge of various disciplines for the solution. Since current problems are of complex nature, there is a need to have knowledge of all the aspects such as economic, social, political and psychological. Multi-disciplinary approaches call for collaboration between two or more disciplines on a research project, while each discipline maintaining its assumptions, values, and methods. In other words, each discipline maintains its autonomy while collaborating. Today multidisciplinary approach is considered as the driver of innovation and research to solve real world problems. The book aims to address the current issues and problems and draw the solutions with the help of multidisciplinary approaches. Download or read book A Fresh Concept of Software resemblant Hardware to Leap to 6G and Future Networks written by Jacopo Iannacci and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2024-04-01 with total page 125 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For a decade, with the uptake of 4G, we have become accustomed to the relentless increase in data and services on the move. The deployment of 5G is advancing crucial key performance indicators (KPIs), along with quality of service (QoS). Setting the horizon to 2030 and later, 6G will take the KPIs to numbers 100–1000 times better than 5G. Yet, the actual disruption of 6G and future networks (FN) will take place following other unprecedented paths. Artificial intelligence (AI) will be exploited in a threadlike fashion, at any level of the network physical infrastructure. This will introduce, to date unknown features, like self-sustaining, self-evolution and high-resilience of small portions of the infrastructure, pioneering the concept of a network of networks. Each segment of the infrastructure will bear a high degree of independence, while working at the same time as a whole, in full orchestration with the rest of the network. Given such a scenario, this book claims that the established and currently in use paradigms for the design and development of hardware–software (HW–SW) systems, are not appropriate to address the challenges of 6G and, further ahead, of FN. In response, unprecedented design approaches are suggested, relying on a fresh reinterpretation of the standard concept of HW, with specific attention to the network edge and edge intelligence (EI). This work develops some conceptual tools that may help address the technical challenges resulting from the intricate scenario sketched above. Within the mentioned HW reconceptualization, a pivotal role is forecasted for microtechnologies and nanotechnologies, intended with a broad meaning, which embraces, among others, devices, systems (MEMS/NEMS) and materials.

Download or read book Performance Evaluation and Benchmarking written by Lizy Kurian John and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computer and microprocessor architectures are advancing at an astounding pace. However, increasing demands on performance coupled with a wide variety of specialized operating environments act to slow this pace by complicating the performance evaluation process. Carefully balancing efficiency and accuracy is key to avoid slowdowns, and such a balance can be achieved with an in-depth understanding of the available evaluation methodologies. Performance Evaluation and Benchmarking outlines a variety of evaluation methods and benchmark suites, considering their strengths, weaknesses, and when each is appropriate to use. Following a general overview of important performance analysis techniques, the book surveys contemporary benchmark suites for specific areas, such as Java, embedded systems, CPUs, and Web servers. Subsequent chapters explain how to choose appropriate averages for reporting metrics and provide a detailed treatment of statistical methods, including a summary of statistics, how to apply statistical sampling for simulation, how to apply SimPoint, and a comprehensive overview of statistical simulation. The discussion then turns to benchmark subsetting methodologies and the fundamentals of analytical modeling, including queuing models and Petri nets. Three chapters devoted to hardware performance counters conclude the book. Supplying abundant illustrations, examples, and case studies, Performance Evaluation and Benchmarking offers a firm foundation in evaluation methods along with up-to-date techniques that are necessary to develop next-generation architectures.
