Download or read book Environment in a Magnet written by Pellegrino Conte and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 2024-03-04 with total page 461 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Global climate change is the most important challenge humankind is facing in the modern era. One of the main scientific concerns is the monitoring of contaminants in the environment, which require the right environmental remediation strategies. In this context, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques have a very important role in enabling the discovery of how pollutants are transformed, how they can move and how they can affect human health. This book discusses the present and the future perspectives of NMR techniques for environmental evaluations. It covers, amongst other topics, the importance of NMR as a contamination discovery tool, how to improve sensitivity in environmental NMR, and multiphase NMR for measurement of samples in their natural state. Samples include lubricant oils, soils and porous media. Due to the direct relationship between the environment and human health, there is information dedicated to the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to monitor human health as related to environmental pollution. There is also a chapter on how NMR is used in cultural heritage to measure artefacts directly affected by environmental pollution. Filling a gap in the literature, the book is for researchers explaining how to apply their knowledge of NMR techniques to solve environmental problems, and for students who want to deepen their understanding of this topic.

Download or read book The Swords of Ezekiel written by Tom McCall ThD and published by LifeRich Publishing. This book was released on 2024-05-08 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To those who have a fairly good background in the hard sciences: Maybe Ezekiel really did mean horses and ancient armor........ The Swords of Ezekiel accepts the plain teaching of the text that the Magog raiders wield weapons from the generation before the Gunpowder Revolution and use horses for transportation. Consequently, the narrative that emerges is a dramatic departure from the generally accepted modern weapons teaching of present-day scholars. In this alternative understanding, the two chapters are complementary descriptions of the same series of events. i.e. One has details that the other does not have. The chronological narrative emerges when the two segments are properly aligned like a spline gear on a drive shaft. Thoroughly referenced, this is the book to read for a better understanding of the relationship between natural science, European history, legend as guide to history, art as secular prophet, archaeology outside the Near East and Bible prophecy. The primary motives for the raid are anti-Israel resentment, jealousy and near starvation levels of crop-failure hunger. The absence of modern weapons is explained as a combination of industrial collapse and an as-yet unobserved destabilization of nitrate-based propellants and explosives. The merchants of Tarshish are identified as the British Commonwealth based on cultural heritage, mineral resources, geography and geopolitics. The Swords of Ezekiel also suggests a location for these events on the prophetic timeline. Prompt access to the references is provided by a link at www.swordsofezekiel.com. N.B. Download or read book A plasma chemistry study on global model for argon gas as a propellant to electrostatic gridded ion thruster written by Bernardo Vieira Magaldi and published by Editora Dialética. This book was released on 2024-07-31 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electric propulsion optimizes propellant mass and meets new propulsion device demands. These devices adjust satellite orbits and enable long missions. Among various thrusters, electrostatic ones have well-defined physics, simplifying operational parameter optimization. This study developed a global model for an Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) cylindrical ion thruster with an output polarized grid system. Argon propellant is injected into the chamber, and ICP plasma is generated by a radiofrequency current. Neutral and excited species are accelerated out by diffusion, while ionized species are accelerated via the polarized grids' electric field. The polarized grid system was optimized for better plasma sheath use. The model considers single and multi-step ionization, the Electron Energy Distribution Function (EEDF), neutral gas, and electron power balance equations. Excited species influence ionization energy, but not ionic density. However, the ion substitution rate increases, essential for thrust and specific impulse. The model determines the neutral gas temperature by considering the power balance and interactions with other species.
