Book 2 2 4 History with Eyes Open

Download or read book 2 2 4 History with Eyes Open written by Nathan Patrick Henry and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-04-05 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I subtitled this book “Things I Wish I Could Tell My Students.” I could have summarized this as “The Truth,” because that is what we aren’t allowed to tell them. Now we do tell them what happens, and it’s the version of it that is made to deceive. Historians vote FDR the greatest president. This is what they are supposed to do. They were not taught that his New Deal destroyed the economy and brought Marxist socialist contradictions into America. My book is intended to reveal the 2+2=5 nature of what we are told about history, ourselves, and Truth.

Book Pathophysiology of the Basal Ganglia and Movement Disorders Gaining New Insights from Modeling and Experimentation to Influence the Clinic

Download or read book Pathophysiology of the Basal Ganglia and Movement Disorders Gaining New Insights from Modeling and Experimentation to Influence the Clinic written by Daniela Andres and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2017-10-31 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The basal ganglia constitute a group of subcortical structures, highly interconnected among themselves, as well as with the cerebral cortex, thalamus and other brain areas. These nuclei play a central role in the control of voluntary movement, and their specific pathology comprises the group of diseases known as movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, dystonia and Gilles de la Tourette syndrome, among others. Additionally, the presence of a number of circuits within the basal ganglia related to non-motor functions has been acknowledged. Currently, the basal ganglia are thought to participate in cognitive, limbic and learning functions. Moreover, disorders related to the basal ganglia are known to involve a number of complex, non-motor symptoms and syndromes (e.g. compulsive and addictive behavior). In the light of this evidence, it is becoming clear that our knowledge about the basal ganglia needs to be revised, and that new pathophysiological models of movement disorders are needed. In this context, the study of the pathophysiology of the basal ganglia and the treatment of their pathology is becoming increasingly interdisciplinary. Nowadays, an appropriate approach to the study of these problems must necessarily involve the use of complex mathematical modeling, computer simulations, basic research (ranging from biomolecular studies to animal experimentation), and clinical research. This research topic aims to bring together the most recent advances related to the pathophysiology of the basal ganglia and movement disorders.

Book A History of the Mishnaic Law of Purities Part 8

Download or read book A History of the Mishnaic Law of Purities Part 8 written by Jacob Neusner and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2007-04-01 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The history of Jews from the period of the Second Temple to the rise of Islam. From 'A History of the Mishnaic Law of Appointed Times, Part 1' This volume introduces the sources of Judaism in late antiquity to scholars in adjacent fields, such as the study of the Old and New Testaments, Ancient History, the ancient Near East, and the history of religion. In two volumes, leading American, Israeli, and European specialists in the history, literature, theology, and archaeology of Judaism offer factual answers to the two questions that the study of any religion in ancient times must raise. The first is, what are the sources -- written and in material culture -- that inform us about that religion? The second is, how have we to understand those sources in reconstructing the history of various Judaic systems in antiquity. The chapters set forth in simple statements, intelligible to non-specialists, the facts which the sources provide. Because of the nature of the subject and acute interest in it, the specialists also raise some questions particular to the study of Judaism, dealing with its historical relationship with nascent Christianity in New Testament times. The work forms the starting point for the study of all the principal questions concerning Judaism in late antiquity and sets forth the most current, critical results of scholarship.
