Download or read book 11 septembre rapport de la Commission d enqu te written by United States. National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States and published by . This book was released on 2004-09-09 with total page 501 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book 11 septembre

Download or read book 11 septembre written by David Ray Griffin and published by Editions Carnot. This book was released on 2005 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book The Criminalisation of Irregular Migration in Europe

Download or read book The Criminalisation of Irregular Migration in Europe written by Matilde Rosina and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-03-05 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the criminalisation of irregular migration in Europe. In particular, it investigates the meaning, purpose, and consequences of criminalising unauthorised entry and stay. From a theoretical perspective, the book adds to the debate on the persistence of irregular migration, despite governments’ attempts at deterring it, by taking an interdisciplinary approach that draws from international political economy and criminology. Using Italy and France as case studies, and relying on previously unreleased data and interviews, it argues that criminalisation has no effect on migratory flows, and that this is due to factors including the latter’s structural determinants and the likely creation of substitution effects. Furthermore, criminalisation is found to lead to adverse consequences, including by contributing to vicious cycles of irregularity and insecurity.

Book Defining and Redefining Space in the English Speaking World

Download or read book Defining and Redefining Space in the English Speaking World written by Fanny Moghaddassi and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2016-12-14 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Contacts, on the individual and institutional levels and in the political and aesthetic spheres, lead to redefinitions of existing identities through frictions and, sometimes, clashes. Focusing on the material conditions of such contacts, frictions, and clashes, this volume particularly explores their essentially spatial nature, highlighting the stakes of such definitions and redefinitions of space. Efforts at defining and mapping spaces, physical experiences of contacts, frictions and clashes, tensions between different groups or genres and literary or political competition for space and influence lead to geographical, social, political, and aesthetic, but also bodily and psychological, definitions and redefinitions.

Book Benchmarking Working Europe 2013

Download or read book Benchmarking Working Europe 2013 written by and published by ETUI. This book was released on 2013 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Widening economic and social gaps among EU member states, as well as among different groups and categories of citizens within society, are not only placing in jeopardy the future of Social Europe but threatening to undermine also the whole project of European integration. The post-2008 recession and debt crisis, helped along by EU leaders’ obstinate clinging to the failing remedies of fiscal austerity, have accelerated the disenchantment of millions of European citizens with the half-century-old project to build and consolidate a European Union. This is one of the most striking conclusions of the ETUI’s Benchmarking Working Europe report for 2013. Benchmarking Working Europe is one of the ETUI’s regularly appearing flagship publications. Issued annually since 2002, the report offers an alternative perspective on EU developments. Using publicly accessible data, it reveals what is actually going on behind the EU social and economic affairs headlines. After last year’s issue focused on growing inequality in Europe, this year’s Benchmarking Working Europe report will demonstrate by means of hard-hitting graphs and cogent arguments that Europe is, rather than converging, actually drifting apart in numerous respects.
