This book was released on 2024-02-12 with total page 958 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. (The Call of the Wild, 2020)의 원작!! 1903(English Classics1,240 The Call Of The Wild by Jack London)은 19세기 미국작가 잭 런던(Jack London, 1876~1916)이 1903년 새터데이 이브닝 포스트(The Saturday Evening Post)에 연재해 큰 인기를 모은 단편모험소설(a short adventure novel)이자 벅이라 불리는 개(a dog named Buck)가 주인공인 동물소설(Animal Fiction)입니다. ▶ Highly as the dog-driver had forevalued Buck, with his two devils, he found, while the day was yet young, that he had undervalued. At a bound Buck took up the duties of leadership; and where judgment was required, and quick thinking and quick acting, he showed himself the superior even of Spitz, of whom François had never seen an equal. ▶ Buck felt vaguely that there was no depending upon these two men and the woman. They did not know how to do anything, and as the days went by it became apparent that they could not learn. They were slack in all things, without order or discipline. It took them half the night to pitch a slovenly camp, and half the morning to break that camp and get the sled loaded in fashion so slovenly that for the rest of the day they were occupied in stopping and rearranging the load. Some days they did not make ten miles. On other days they were unable to get started at all. And on no day did they succeed in making more than half the distance used by the men as a basis in their dog-food computation. ▶ Then an old wolf, gaunt and battle-scarred, came forward. Buck writhed his lips into the preliminary of a snarl, but sniffed noses with him, Whereupon the old wolf sat down, pointed nose at the moon, and broke out the long wolf howl. The others sat down and howled. And now the call came to Buck in unmistakable accents. He, too, sat down and howled. This over, he came out of his angle and the pack crowded around him, sniffing in half-friendly, half-savage manner. The leaders lifted the yelp of the pack and sprang away into the woods. The wolves swung in behind, yelping in chorus. And Buck ran with them, side by side with the wild brother, yelping as he ran. 미다스의 노예들(The Minions of Midas, 1901) 03. (The Call of the Wild, 1903) 04. 바다 늑대(The Sea-Wolf, 1904) 05. 스테이크 한 장(A Piece of Steak, 1909) 07. (Jerry of the Islands: A True Dog Story, 1917) 09. 잭 런던을 만나다 TOP10(TOP10 Places of Jack London) 13. (Movie and Drama of Jack London in IMDb and Wikipedia) 14. 오디오북으로 듣는 잭 런던(Audio Books of Jack London) 15. 1903(English Classics1,240 The Call Of The Wild by Jack London) Chapter I. Book excerpt: Jack London's merciless take on the survival of the fittest as set in the Alaskan wilderness during the Klondike Gold Rush was enthusiastically received in a time when Western society was eagerly interpreting the world through Darwinian eyes. The story became an instant classic, and insofar as humanity continues to wrestle with the implications of a naturalistic outlook on human affairs, "The Call of the Wild" remains relevant with its stark portrayal of nature, red in tooth and claw.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Call of the Wild is an adventure novel by Jack London, published in 1903 and set in Yukon, Canada, during the 1890s Klondike Gold Rush, when strong sled dogs were in high demand. London spent almost a year in the Yukon, and his observations form much of the material for the book. The central character of the novel is a dog named Buck. The story opens at a ranch in Santa Clara Valley, California, when Buck is stolen from his home and sold into service as a sled dog in Alaska. He becomes progressively primitive and wild in the harsh environment, where he is forced to fight to survive and dominate other dogs. By the end, he sheds the veneer of civilization, and relies on primordial instinct and learned experience to emerge as a leader in the wild. The book's great popularity and success made a reputation for London. As early as 1923, the story was adapted to film, and it has since seen several more cinematic adaptations.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Call of the Wild is a novel by American writer Jack London. The plot concerns a previously domesticated and even somewhat pampered dog named Buck, whose primordial instincts return after a series of events finds him serving as a sled dog in the treacherous, frigid Yukon during the days of the 19th century Klondike Gold Rushes. Published in 1903, The Call of the Wild is one of London's most-read books, and it is generally considered one of his best. Because the protagonist is a dog, it is sometimes classified as a juvenile novel, suitable for children, but it is dark in tone and contains numerous scenes of cruelty and violence. London followed the book in 1906 with White Fang, a companion novel with many similar plot elements and themes as The Call of the Wild, although following a mirror image plot in which a wild wolf becomes civilized by a mining expert from San Francisco named Weedon Scott.
