Download or read book Zombie Days Campfire Nights written by Leah Rhyne and published by Museitup Publishing. This book was released on 2013-10 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Millions died when the zombie plague swept the country. For the survivors, the journey has just begun. Jenna, Sam, and Lola are still alive. Jenna avoids human contact, traveling East Coast backroads with her boyfriend, a dog named Chicken, and a Louisville Slugger. Sam escapes to the mountains, where he's conscripted into a zombie-slaying militia sent on nightly raids to kill the undead...and innocent civilians. Lola's imprisoned in the "safety" of a zombie-free New Orleans hotel, but life grows more dangerous when her brother gets bitten by a zombie. Jenna arrives in the French Quarter, lured by the false promises of New Orleans' drunken leader. There, she's ripped away from her boyfriend, drugged, and dumped in a death camp after refusing Franklin's sexual advances. Jenna and Lola's lives collide there, where the dead live and the dying are victims of gruesome medical experiments. Escape isn't easy: release the genetically-enhanced zombies from the lab to create a diversion, slip away, and don't get eaten. When Sam arrives, will he join the right side of the battle?

Will she be able to balance her medical duties with her newfound role as a superhero? Find out in this captivating tale that will leave you on the edge of your seat. "Vickie: Doctor by day. Zombie Hunter by night" is book one of the thrilling and adventurous Vickie series. Here is what a few readers are saying... "I could not help but to laugh. There are things that are mentioned in the book, and at about 1/4 of the way into the book, I've got some ideas about what may be going on. I guess I'll find out. On some things I thought, I was right, on others I was completely off the mark. I truly hope that Eileen writes a follow up to this book. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. Definitely a paranormal/romance/mystery with a bit of thriller thrown in." This was such a great book. The imagination of this author is astounding! This isn't your typical zombie book and I didnt really think it horror but everyone is different. As I said this is a different take on zombies but its also a great story. Vickie is a doctor who sets up in a new town as their new resident doctor since the old one passed. She rents a huge house which she runs her office out of as well as has some boarders turned friends staying with her. I dont know what else to say about this book that wont give away spoilers so I'll have to just leave it at that. This is a really great book with a strong heroin and two very hot alpha males who both want her. Add in some supernatural things like zombies, witches and vampires and this book is all you need for a lazy day of reading."

When those things came back to life, the governments said they were going to eradicate the undead, the zombies, zekes, ferals, walkers or whatever those damned things are being called these days, but instead the governments the world over just collapsed. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Overworld is in trouble. On the ground, a rampaging army of armor-clad zombies is roving across the biomes. In the sky, a wicked Wither is leaving a path of destruction—and Wither roses—wherever it goes. And in Bobbie’s party, the tension is tighter than a skeleton’s bowstring . . . because, somehow, Logan just became its newest member. The same Logan who set zombies on Bobbie’s village and turned her little brother, Johnny, into one of the walking dead. Who bullied her friend Ben and wrecked his adventuring career. Who was mean to his minion, Other Ben (who prefers Benjamin, actually). But as the Wither skulls start flying, this not-so-merry band needs all the help it can get. Bobbie hasn’t forgotten her main mission: Find the zombified villagers who were once her friends and family and feed them the enchanted golden apples that will turn them back. But as long as the Wither exists, there’s danger. And if there’s danger, it’s a hero’s job to fix it. As much as Bobbie dislikes heroes, she and her friends (and also Logan) look like the closest thing the Overworld’s got.

Book Beyond the Living Dead

Download or read book Beyond the Living Dead written by Bruce Peabody and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2021-08-31 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1968, George Romero's film Night of the Living Dead premiered, launching a growing preoccupation with zombies within mass and literary fiction, film, television, and video games. Romero's creativity and enduring influence make him a worthy object of inquiry in his own right, and his long career helps us take stock of the shifting interest in zombies since the 1960s. Examining his work promotes a better understanding of the current state of the zombie and where it is going amidst the political and social turmoil of the twenty-first century. These new essays document, interpret, and explain the meaning of the still-budding Romero legacy, drawing cross-disciplinary perspectives from such fields as literature, political science, philosophy, and comparative film studies. Essays consider some of the sources of Romero's inspiration (including comics, science fiction, and Westerns), chart his influence as a storyteller and a social critic, and consider the legacy he leaves for viewers, artists, and those studying the living dead.

A group of unlikely survivors are forced to band together to find salvation in a horror-drenched world. Led by Ryan and surrounded by undead monsters, the survivors journey across the wastelands in search of a precious and increasingly rare commoditylife. "But wait," I say. "The zombies in I Am Legend were just infected and could be cured, not similar to these types of zombies." I sit down on my couch and scratch my head. "I'm being so childish here; I'm comparing what is happening right now to movies. I need to figure out what needs to be done," I say before pushing myself off the couch and walking into my office. I grab a notepad from the desk as well as a pen before returning to the couch and sitting down. I push everything off the table and onto the floor before placing the notepad on the table. "Alright first things first I need to hunker down and hold my position for the night. First thing tomorrow morning I need to get out of the city, it isn't safe here, the population is too high. I can easily get overwhelmed and eaten."

Once the home of the mysterious Moriori people, this archipelago approximately 850km east of mainland New Zealand preserves a rock archive from a dynamic time in Earth’s history when the southern continents were land-locked together near the South Pole 100 million years ago. Isolated for 83 million years, we now know since the dawn of the new millennium that this ancient region was heavily forested with both avian and non-avian dinosaurs, and the warm waters hosted the largest sea monsters—marine reptiles—that ever lived. This diversity of life on land and in the sea tells a tale never told before in Zealandia, the Moriori’s magical land of the ‘Misty Skies’.

Book excerpt: Zombiemandias: In the Zombie Apocalypse Collection brings together three zombie apocalypse books. After the Bite - Short stories and poems set before, during, and after the zombie apocalypse detailed in the main series. It's June 21st, 2013. People are living their lives: Garrett is driving home from the grocery store. Captain Trent Hampton is welcoming a visiting crew to the International Space Station. Nine-months-pregnant Deraan is eating dinner with her mother-in-law from Hell. A young Mexican boy is sneaking across the border into America to find his brother. They're all about to be interrupted by zombies. After the Bite is the zombie apocalypse from the point of view of the everyday people who will experience it. From the mountains of Colorado to the highways of the American Midwest, from the front lines of Afghanistan to the reaches of space, everything changes when people start attacking each other. And killing each other. And eating each other. In the midst of chaos, people find enemies and allies in the most unlikely places. They'll need all the help they can get to survive, because after the bite, everything changes. In the Lone and Level Sands - When the zombie apocalypse begins, Layne is on a plane flying 30,000 feet above the northwestern United States. Recently divorced Evan and Cynthia are at their daughter’s ballet recital. Jordan is working as a cashier at a grocery store. Max is at the carnival with his tightly knit family. Ben and Charlotte have just survived a car crash. Zoe is all alone on her way home from school. Martha is at her husband’s funeral. On June 21st, 2013, a random selection of the world’s population changes. People who were once friends and family turn into murderous zombies, and people who were once strangers or enemies turn into allies. Seven groups of survivors across America will have to struggle to escape, survive, or learn what caused people to turn into monsters—or else become one of them. In the Year of Our Death - It's been two years since the zombies first appeared and changed the world forever. Keely and her friends escaped the hell of Seattle and settled down near an abandoned radio station. Bailey finds herself caught up with a ravenous group of survivors. Georgie has set up a courier system to move mail across the remains of America. Will and his friends—all of them orphans now—are out of water and have to leave their quiet suburb for the first time in their lives. Nelson, the engineer charged with running Hoover Dam and powering the American Southwest, breaks his glasses and must wander the wasteland nearly blind looking for a replacement. Adam, however, knows the truth about the zombies: They aren't monsters, they're angels, sent by God to cleanse the world of the survivors, and Adam and his Church of Lesser Humans were put here to help them do it. Armed only with faith, a bus, and the steadfast rule to never allow harm to come to the zombies, Adam knows Judgment Day is coming, and will stop at nothing to herald its arrival.
