Book Zinc Oxide Nanocrystalline Thin Films

Download or read book Zinc Oxide Nanocrystalline Thin Films written by Rajendra C. Pawar and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012-07 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a iconic semiconductor oxide due to its wide direct band gap of 3.3 eV and large exciton binding energy of 60 meV at room temperature, high electron mobility (155 cm2.V-1.S-1), ZnO is recognized as a promising optoelectronic material in the blue-ultraviolet (UV) region and an excellent candidate for a dye-sensitized oxide semiconductor solar cell and field emitter. By controlling the reaction conditions during heterogeneous deposition of ZnO from aqueous solutions, tunable nanostructures have been readily fabricated. The potential application of nanomaterials depends on the shape of nanostructure, and controlled morphology can modulate the properties of nanomaterials. Hierarchical ZnO nanostructures reported here might provide a good candidate for solar cells, gas sensor and field emission applications. In the book we have reported synthesis of 0D, 1D, 2D, 3D and multidimensional ZnO nanostructures like nanoparticles, nanorods, nanoneedles, nanotowers, nanoflowers, nanosyringes, bottle brush, cake and cactus-like by aqueous chemical route at relatively low temperature and cost. The synthesized nanostructures have been used for dye and quantum dot sensitized sola

A plethora of physical and chemical methods have been used for the synthesis of ZnO nanostructures including physical and chemical techniques. Electrodeposition is of particular interest due to low cost, environmental friendly, and feasibility of room temperature growth. The central idea of this work is to test the applicability of simple and inexpensive electrodeposition technique as an update on previously studied methods for the synthesis of nanocrystalline ZnO thin films for solar cell. In this direction the attempts were made to fabricate zinc oxide nanocrystalline thin films by varying various process parameters and by using novel approaches, as well.

Download or read book Structural Studies of Nano Crystalline Metal Oxide Films written by Girjesh Singh and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2011-12 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present work deals with the investigation of Nanocrystalline semiconducting oxide thin films. We have particularly undertaken the investigation of undoped and Al, In and Co doped ZnO films. In the present work Zinc oxide films were fabricated by a homemade chemical spray pyrolysis system (CSPT) equipped with an optical set-up ensuring the in-situ control of the film growth. This CSPT has been found to be easy, inexpensive and well adapted for mass fabrication. A number of ZnO samples have been prepared by using different type of dopants having different dopant concentrations. The above prepared films have been characterized for their structural, morphological, electrical and optical properties as a function of doping concentrations and effect of change in dopants as well as doping concentrations on the physical and structural properties of ZnO films studied. In another piece of work, we have investigated the effect of ion implantation in Si particularly, the nature and concentration of defects by using positron annihilation techniques. . The results and findings of the above studies have been reported in the respective chapters.
