Book Applied Laplace Transforms and z Transforms for Scientists and Engineers

Download or read book Applied Laplace Transforms and z Transforms for Scientists and Engineers written by Urs Graf and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 501 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theory of Laplace transformation is an important part of the mathematical background required for engineers, physicists and mathematicians. Laplace transformation methods provide easy and effective techniques for solving many problems arising in various fields of science and engineering, especially for solving differential equations. What the Laplace transformation does in the field of differential equations, the z-transformation achieves for difference equations. The two theories are parallel and have many analogies. Laplace and z transformations are also referred to as operational calculus, but this notion is also used in a more restricted sense to denote the operational calculus of Mikusinski. This book does not use the operational calculus of Mikusinski, whose approach is based on abstract algebra and is not readily accessible to engineers and scientists. The symbolic computation capability of Mathematica can now be used in favor of the Laplace and z-transformations. The first version of the Mathematica Package LaplaceAndzTransforrns developed by the author appeared ten years ago. The Package computes not only Laplace and z-transforms but also includes many routines from various domains of applications. Upon loading the Package, about one hundred and fifty new commands are added to the built-in commands of Mathematica. The code is placed in front of the already built-in code of Laplace and z-transformations of Mathematica so that built-in functions not covered by the Package remain available. The Package substantially enhances the Laplace and z-transformation facilities of Mathematica. The book is mainly designed for readers working in the field of applications.

So here good news for you, your problem solved. I made here special books according to chapter wise, which helps to buy books according to chapters and no need to pay extra money for unneeded chapters that not mentioned in your syllabus. PREFACE It gives me great pleasure to present to you this book on A Textbook on “Z-Transform” of Engineering Mathematics presented specially for you. Many books have been written on Engineering Mathematics by different authors and teachers, but majority of the students find it difficult to fully understand the examples in these books. Also, the Teachers have faced many problems due to paucity of time and classroom workload. Sometimes the college teacher is not able to help their own student in solving many difficult questions in the class even though they wish to do so. Keeping in mind the need of the students, the author was inspired to write a suitable text book providing solutions to various examples of “Z-Transform” of Engineering Mathematics. It is hoped that this book will meet more than an adequately the needs of the students they are meant for. I have tried our level best to make this book error free.

Book Signals and Systems with MATLAB

Download or read book Signals and Systems with MATLAB written by Won Young Yang and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-06-18 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is primarily intended for junior-level students who take the courses on ‘signals and systems’. It may be useful as a reference text for practicing engineers and scientists who want to acquire some of the concepts required for signal proce- ing. The readers are assumed to know the basics about linear algebra, calculus (on complex numbers, differentiation, and integration), differential equations, Laplace R transform, and MATLAB . Some knowledge about circuit systems will be helpful. Knowledge in signals and systems is crucial to students majoring in Electrical Engineering. The main objective of this book is to make the readers prepared for studying advanced subjects on signal processing, communication, and control by covering from the basic concepts of signals and systems to manual-like introduc- R R tions of how to use the MATLAB and Simulink tools for signal analysis and lter design. The features of this book can be summarized as follows: 1. It not only introduces the four Fourier analysis tools, CTFS (continuous-time Fourier series), CTFT (continuous-time Fourier transform), DFT (discrete-time Fourier transform), and DTFS (discrete-time Fourier series), but also illuminates the relationship among them so that the readers can realize why only the DFT of the four tools is used for practical spectral analysis and why/how it differs from the other ones, and further, think about how to reduce the difference to get better information about the spectral characteristics of signals from the DFT analysis.

Book Computer Controlled Systems

Download or read book Computer Controlled Systems written by G. Perdikaris and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1991-09-30 with total page 496 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The primary objective of the book is to provide advanced undergraduate or frrst-year graduate engineering students with a self-contained presentation of the principles fundamental to the analysis, design and implementation of computer controlled systems. The material is also suitable for self-study by practicing engineers and is intended to follow a first course in either linear systems analysis or control systerns. A secondary objective of the book is to provide engineering and/or computer science audiences with the material for a junior/senior-level course in modern systems analysis. Chapters 2, 3, 4, and 5 have been designed with this purposein rnind. The emphasis in such a course is to develop the rnathernatical tools and methods suitable for the analysis and design of real-time systems such as digital filters. Thus, engineers and/or computer scientists who know how to program computers can understand the mathematics relevant to the issue of what it is they are programrning. This is especially important for those who may work in engineering and scientific environments where, for instance, programrning difference equations for real-time applications is becorning increasingly common. A background in linear algebra should be an adequate prerequisite for the systems analysis course. Chapter 1 of the book presents a brief introduction to computer controlled systems. It describes the general issues and terminology relevant to the analysis, design, and implementation of such systems.
