Since believers, by faith, are part of Christ's family line, they receive the ministry of the priesthood also. Under the Levitical system, there was one high priest among the priests. Christ was called a High Priest and not the only priest; thus, there has to be other priests that serve with Him. These other priests are those who have believed on Him. The believer receives kingship and priesthood through Jesus. To have a people of a royal priesthood has always been a part of God's plan for His people. It was His desire for the children of Israel, yet He developed this desire in the believers. In the pages of the second book of this set, we will bring clarity to the believers as the royal priesthood. Book The Homebrewed Christianity Guide to the Old Testament

Download or read book The Homebrewed Christianity Guide to the Old Testament written by Rolf A. Jacobson and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 2018-11-01 with total page 127 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Old Testament bears witness to an in-your-face, holy God--a God who gets down and dirty with creation and history; a God who gets in people's face with love and law, with power and purpose. Yet Israel's in-your-face God is also "holy"--too other, too raw, too intense to be handled without oven mitts. Rolf Jacobson wrestles with this in-your-face God. The Old Testament starts at the beginning, where God digs in the dirt to create humanity and then gets in the dustlings' faces when they sin. God smiles on Abraham and Sarah, electing their descendants as the chosen people, but has to get in Pharaoh's face when he tries to enslave the people. Mostly, God gets in Israel's face: with laws about what it looks like to be God's people and through the prophets, who have to get in the faces of those who turn away from the Holy One. Jacobson also explores the psalms, poetry in which God often hides his face. He closes by exploring how the Old Testament points us ahead to Jesus, when God took on a human face and offered us the most intimate picture of God we'll ever get.

Book What Does Theology Do Actually

Download or read book What Does Theology Do Actually written by Matthew Ryan Robinson and published by Evangelische Verlagsanstalt. This book was released on 2022-07-26 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: »What Does Theology Do, Actually? Observing Theology and the Transcultural« is to be the first in a series of 5 books, each presented under the same question – »What Does Theology Do, Actually?«, with vols. 2–5 focusing on one of the theological subdisciplines. This first volume proceeds from the observation of a need for a highly inflected »trans-cultural«, and not simply »inter-cultural«, set of perspectives in theological work and training. The revolution brought about across the humanities disciplines through globalization and the recognition of »multiple modernities« has introduced a diversity of overlapping cultural content and multiple cultural and religious belongings not only into academic work in the humanities and social sciences, but into the Christian churches as well.

Book excerpt: In The Shinar Directive, we journeyed down the Luciferian rabbit hole to discover the matrix of darkness that has engulfed our planet. In The Sheeriyth Imperative, we dug deeper to unearth the power source of hell, and we discovered how the body of Christ can labor to impede its functioning in the earth and lay the groundwork for revival. Now, it is time to unveil the mysteries of both the Priesthood of the Kingdom of God and the priesthood of darkness. Until these mysteries are understood, God's remnant cannot realize their purpose or be released with heaven's power to overcome the agenda of the fallen denizens of the Second Heaven. The Kingdom Priesthood is a training manual for the remnant to discover their priesthood, their purpose, and their service to Almighty God. In the pages of this remnant manual, you will discover: -What Adam experienced in the first few moments of life and how those desires were encoded into the spiritual DNA of humanity.-Revelations of what the Almighty meant when He told Adam and Eve to replenish the earth.-Identifying the first priests of the Kingdom of God in the Bible and the first priest of darkness.-What the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil offered the first family in the garden.-How we all share the same calling as Abram and why it is so important for the Priesthood of the Kingdom.-The reality of the Principality Wars and how they are influencing the world today.-How believers are to function as both priests and tabernacles in the earth.-The real purpose of the fire of God and how we are to use it.-How to carry the name of God in the earth with dignity and power.-How to flow in the sevenfold anointing of the Holy Spirit.-How the priesthood is essential for the releasing of end-time warriors in the last days. The Kingdom Priesthood is a call for the remnant to receive the fire of God, enter into their priesthood, and become an army that hell cannot overcome!

Book excerpt: The better we understand Jesus, the better we understand ourselves. But who was Jesus, this itinerant preacher whom many called the Messiah? In Priest, Prophet, King, you'll discover Jesus as the Anointed One - the ultimate priest, prophet, and king foreshadowed throughout the Hebrew Scriptures. Using biblical insights and engaging stories, Father Barron affirms that we see Jesus most clearly through the lens of the Old Testament. This deeply biblical program presents the Old Testament foreshadowing of each of Jesus' three offices as priest, prophet and king and then describes how Jesus is the fulfillment of each as seen in the New Testament. The Study Guide includes commentary, Questions for Understanding, and Questions for Application. Through this presentation of Priest, Prophet, King, you will better understand Jesus, become more familiar with Scripture, and realize your own priestly, prophetic, and kingly mission.

Book And There Was War in Heaven

Download or read book And There Was War in Heaven written by Marie Hunter Atwood and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2013-06-19 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In retrospect, stories learned as children were entertaining but failed as life mentors. We, as well as our children, have failed to retain their principles and in consequence have lost a portion of background history necessary to understanding Gods messages. For instance, why did God give the Law of Moses? Of what purpose were the kings and judges, the flood of Noahs time? What do the Covenants mean, and why didnt first-century Jews accept the promised Messiah? Why is Revelation a part of His message, since it is in apocalyptic language, and does it have any meaning for us? These questions are important, as they grant knowledge that provides additional sources of honor from which we are able to praise Him more effectively. They are also the background for the New Covenant under which we live. Without them, we would not have reconciliation or salvation.
