Book You See Bones I See an Army

Download or read book You See Bones I See an Army written by Floyd McClung and published by YWAM Publishing. This book was released on 2008 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ccording to George Barna there are 53,000 people a month leaving Evangelical churches. God is realigning the church, and Floyd believes he wants to use the frustration that people feel toward the church to motivate them to believe for change. There is a valley of dry bones God wants to use, but those bones won't become an army until they are prophesied over. The dry bones are made up of the poor, the rebellious, the marginalized of society, the young, and the uneducated. They carry wounds, have been abused, suffer from AIDS, are widows and single parents. They are often so poor they have lost hope of finding a purpose in life. They are waiting for someone to believe in them. By choosing to follow Jesus, believers have joined a great procession of men and women who are living for something far greater than themselves. The challenge is to act like we really believe what we are called to be and to do: to become a radical community of Jesus followers who seek to alleviate injustice and share the Father's love with those who have never heard that he cares for them; to show that the church of Jesus Christ is the hope of the world. In this book Floyd shares five core beliefs about leadership, church, and mission: Simple church, Courageous leadership, Focused obedience, Apostolic passion, and Making disciples.

Book excerpt: From the Upper Room of Pentecost to Azusa Street in Los Angeles, God has used prayer movements throughout history to change the world. Over fifteen years ago, a group of students gathered for a prayer vigil in Chichester, England—and the prayers they started haven’t stopped. Out of that first meeting came 24-7 Prayer: an international movement of prayer, mission, and justice that has reached Chinese underground churches, Indian slums, Papua New Guinea jungles, ancient English cathedrals, and even a brewery in Missouri. Red Moon Rising is the story of how that movement continues today—and how each of us can be a part of the miracles God is doing through a new generation.

Book The History of Bones

Download or read book The History of Bones written by John Lurie and published by Random House Trade Paperbacks. This book was released on 2023-10-24 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The quintessential depiction of 1980s New York and the downtown scene from the artist, actor, musician, and composer John Lurie “A picaresque roller coaster of a story, with staggering amounts of sex and drugs and the perpetual quest to retain some kind of artistic integrity.”—The New York Times In the tornado that was downtown New York in the 1980s, John Lurie stood at the vortex. After founding the band The Lounge Lizards with his brother, Evan, in 1979, Lurie quickly became a centrifugal figure in the world of outsider artists, cutting-edge filmmakers, and cultural rebels. Now Lurie vibrantly brings to life the whole wash of 1980s New York as he developed his artistic soul over the course of the decade and came into orbit with all the prominent artists of that time and place, including Andy Warhol, Debbie Harry, Boris Policeband, and, especially, Jean-Michel Basquiat, the enigmatic prodigy who spent a year sleeping on the floor of Lurie’s East Third Street apartment. It may feel like Disney World now, but in The History of Bones, the East Village, through Lurie’s clear-eyed reminiscence, comes to teeming, gritty life. The book is full of grime and frank humor—Lurie holds nothing back in this journey to one of the most significant moments in our cultural history, one whose reverberations are still strongly felt today. History may repeat itself, but the way downtown New York happened in the 1980s will never happen again. Luckily, through this beautiful memoir, we all have a front-row seat.

As you are dreaming suddenly you are asked if these bones can live again. As you answer the question you hear a noise and feel a quake. It's not an earthquake you are experiencing, it is those dry bones coming together. As if that wasn't disturbing enough you see them have flesh and see them stand up as a mighty army. What would you think? Are you going through life with unfulfilled dreams? Does your situation feel so hopeless that you wonder if it will ever get any better? Whether it be dreams and visions, financial, relationships, health, your ministry or your destiny, Satan desires to cause death. In this book we are going to look at Ezekiel 37. We're going to analyze the problem and look at the solution. God asked Ezekiel "Can these bones live?" Ezekiel told him they could. Can your situation live again? God told Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones. In this book we are going to prophesy to our situation. Not only do we want the bones to come together but we want our situation, finances or whatever is dead and hopeless to live again. When God breathes life into us again, we render Satan's tools ineffective. Are you ready for life to be restored into your situation? If so, let's go to the place where they are together and watch life come back to us again
