(Breaking all of the Transdimensional Authority rules…number 127, he is without his partner, ‘Breakfront’ Balboa, who is on leave after an unfortunate incident with the Vulvar Ambassador to Earth Prime and a staple gun). Beau Beaumont and Biff Buckley have already arrived on Earth Prime 5-9-2-7-7-1 dash theta to find themselves surrounded by machines whose only intention is to serve human masters – even if it kills them! Recently recruited TA investigator Noomi Rapier, with her partner ‘Crash’ Chumley, is on Earth Prime 6-4-7-5-0-6 dash theta where all matter at all levels of organisation (from sub-atomic particles to the universe itself) has become conscious. Meanwhile Barack Bowens and Blabber Begbie, taking the Dimensional DeLorean™ to Earth prime 4-6-3-0-2-9 dash omicron, face multiple apocalypses (already in progress), and Bertrand Blailock and Bao Bai-Leung are having trouble travelling to their intended destination: the home of the digital gods. We wouldn’t want to leave you in suspense…)

Book Welcome to the Multiverse

Download or read book Welcome to the Multiverse written by Ira Nayman and published by Elsewhen Press. This book was released on 2012-11-09 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This hilarious science-fiction comedy novel follows the first case for Noomi Rapier, rookie investigator with The Transdimensional Authority - the organisation that regulates travel between dimensions. When a dead body is found slumped over a modified transdimensional machine, Noomi and her more experienced partner, Crash Chumley, must find the dead man's accomplices and discover what they were doing with the technology. Their investigation leads them to a variety of realities where Noomi comes face-to-face with four very different incarnations of herself, forcing her to consider how the choices she makes and the circumstances into which she is born determine who she is. Ira Nayman's new novel is both an hilarious romp through multiple dimensions in a variety of alternate realities, and a gentle satire on fate, ambition and expectation. Welcome to the Multiverse (Sorry for the Inconvenience) will appeal to comedy fans who have been bereft of much good science-fiction fare these last eleven years. Ira's style is at times surreal, even off-the-wall, with the humour flying at you from unexpected angles; he describes it as fractal humour. Anyone who has read his Alternate Reality News Service stories will know how funny Ira is. The characters we meet from around the multiverse deserve to become firm favourites with all fans of science fiction comedy.

Book Things You Can t Say About The Universe

Download or read book Things You Can t Say About The Universe written by R.L. Sterup and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-09-11 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A collection of side-splitting observations for anyone interested in learning more about the Universe and what the hell happened to Pluto. Including in depth examination of Black Holes, Alternative Realities, the Multiverse, The Future of the Universe, and how big a wall would need to be to keep the Universe from being Infinite. The reader will learn that "Quantum" comes from "quanta" a fancy Latin Word that means "all hell breaks loose." Nobody knows where subatomic particles are at any given moment, a startling discovery made by Heisenberg before he moved to Albuquerque to peddle meth. Schrdinger concluded a cat in a box is both alive and dead at the same time, especially one that hasn't used up its ninth life already by taunting the neighbor's rottweiler. Physicists recently discovered this Universe is but one of many Universes, called the Multiverse. Many Universes are made up entirely of antimatter, which means they are exactly like us except left-handed.

Book excerpt: Think back to a time in your life that you made a decision that you now regret. Oh, don’t be so coy – everybody has one. Okay, maybe not Mother Teresa. Or, Bruce Springsteen. But, unless you’re Mother Teresa or Bruce Springsteen – and we’re pretty sure you’re not – you have been in that position. What if you could go back in time and change that decision? What if you could make the other choice? Or, even better, choose a third option that you didn’t even see at the time? Wouldn’t you like to know how things would have turned out if only you had done something different at that critical juncture in your life? DON’T BOTHER. Have you never read any science fiction time travel stories? Don’t you know that they always end with either dinosaurs becoming the dominant species on the planet or your grandfather killing Hitler, causing you to be born with a speech impediment and an irrational fear of listening to Born in the USA? Time branches are not something you can borrow books from – they are paths to realities that you couldn’t anticipate and don’t want to live in, and just try to get a decent corned beef on rye in any of them! In Random Dingoes, the third Transdimensional Authority novel by Ira Nayman, investigators Noomi Rapier and Crash Chumley look into reports of a drug that allows people to travel between universes without technological assistance. They methodically work their way up the drug ring’s chain of command and are just about to arrest its leader when – time travel happens. But, can they find a decent corned beef on rye? You’ll have to read Random Dingoes to find out!

Book 42 Reasons to Hate the Universe

Download or read book 42 Reasons to Hate the Universe written by Chris Ferrie and published by Sourcebooks, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-02-06 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you've always suspected the universe was out to get you... you were right! Yes, the universe we live in is cosmically beautiful and mysterious and all that crap. But it's also a bit of an asshole. After all, remember that you are just a group of atoms structured in a specific way for barely long enough to try to understand this thing we call existence. Those atoms could just have easily been used to make the dog shit you're cleaning off your shoe or the mold that grows on your bread! The fact is, when you zoom out to look at the universe and how it functions, you'll see that it's usually not in our favor, and many of the laws of physics are actively working against our survival. In this book, you'll discover why: You're an aging mutant Invisible rays are melting our genetic code The Earth is covered in explosive pimples Literally everything is poisonous And more true and terrifying scientific facts! But don't worry! While it's true that there are (at least) forty-two grudges to hold against the universe, the good news is that there is also one very good reason to forgive them all and embrace the wild, improbable fact that we are alive (for now) and we should take advantage of it while we can. 42 Reasons to Hate the Universe (And One Reason Not To) is a hilarious, no-holds-barred exploration of all the reasons we shouldn't exist—but somehow do anyway. Rooted in scientific research but written simply so that evolved apes such as ourselves can understand where the heck we came from and where we're likely going, this book is for all the nerds and nihilists who know they're going down in the end but want to enjoy the rollercoaster ride of existence on the way.

In the sequel to his bestselling Inflight Science, Brian Clegg explores mitochondria, in-cell powerhouses which are thought to have once been separate creatures; how your eyes are quantum traps, consuming photons of light from the night sky that have travelled for millions of years; your many senses, which include the ability to detect warps in space and time, and why meeting an attractive person can turn you into a gibbering idiot. Read THE UNIVERSE INSIDE YOU and you'll never look at yourself the same way again.

Book If This Book Exists You re in the Wrong Universe

Download or read book If This Book Exists You re in the Wrong Universe written by Jason Pargin and published by St. Martin's Press. This book was released on 2022-10-18 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author Jason Pargin’s hilarious and horrifying John Dies at the End series continues with If This Book Exists, You’re in the Wrong Universe. "Pargin once again delights with scathing social commentary thinly disguised as an outrageous action novel...This is a feast."—Publishers Weekly "Within the snarky humor is an incisive commentary on social media and the state of our connected world, and a story about trauma and how people lash out when they’re hurt...This isn’t just a funny tale of inept supernatural investigators; it’s a story of people struggling through pain to find a better path. Pargin offers us a welcome note of hope." — Booklist If the broken neon signs, shuttered storefronts, and sub-standard housing didn’t tip you off, you’ve just wandered into the city of “Undisclosed”. You don’t want to be caught dead here, because odds are you just might find yourself rising from the grave. That hasn’t stopped tourists from visiting to check out the unusual phenomena that hangs around our town like radioactive fallout. Interdimensional parasites feeding on human hosts, paranormal cults worshipping demonic entities, vengeful teenage sorcerers, we’ve got it all. Did I mention the possessed toy? It’s a plastic football-sized egg that’s supposed to hatch an adorable, colorful stuffed bird when a child “feeds” it through a synchronized smartphone app. What’s actually inside is an otherworldly monstrosity that’s enticing impressionable wayward youth into murdering folks and depositing their body parts inside the egg as if it’s a hungry piggy bank to trigger the end of the world. That’s where Dave, John, and Amy come in. They face supernatural threats so the rest of us don’t have to—and sometimes even earn a couple of bucks to so do. But between the bloody ritual sacrifices and soul-crushing nightmares, our trio realizes this apocalypse is way above their pay grade.

Book One Infinity a Visible Universe of Invisible Energy

Download or read book One Infinity a Visible Universe of Invisible Energy written by Lynda J. Spini and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2009-05 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the movie Don Juan DeMarco, Johnny Depp's character is in a psychiatric hospital receiving treatment because he believes he is Don Juan, a.k.a. "The Greatest Lover the World has Ever Known." In one of the scenes Don Juan says to his Doctor, "There are only Four Questions of Value in Life: What is sacred? Of what is the Spirit made? What is worth living for? And what is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same: Only Love." Since September 11, 2001 many of us have been searching for the ultimate meaning of our lives, where three additional questions have been consuming our thoughts: Where did I come from? Why am I here? And what will become of me when this life is over? The answer to each is the same: Only Love. This book is a love story in a very non-traditional sense. It's a love story to remind us who we are, and what our minds are capable of when we remove our egos and fill the void with thoughts of kindness and love. It's love story to get us thinking about you, and me, and the Eternity we will spend together as One. Even though there are many questions to consider as we embark upon this journey together as One, the answer to each is the same: Only Love.

Book The Stirring of Dragons Universe One

Download or read book The Stirring of Dragons Universe One written by Thomas Baskerville and published by Europa Edizioni. This book was released on 2022-04-30 with total page 530 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A world in which only four humans remain, including Tom and Cathie, two young people who, for 19 years, have managed to survive against the injustices of the world using their skills. Four humans, seemingly different, each with their own strengths, who come together over issues of desperation and coexistence, representing the last human civilization. Each of them has a tragic story behind them and new adventures to face in order to survive the Extinction that has been striking humanity for years now. Tom (Thomas Baskerville), was born in Manchester but moved to North Wales only a few years later. It was not long before he was falling behind in class, he was eventually diagnosed as dyslexic. His parents and teachers wanted him to read more to practice, but he found children’s books far too dull for him. Instead, he turned to longer, more difficult books containing far more interesting stories. He enjoyed getting lost in fictional worlds designed by other people, but eventually found it easier to lose himself in worlds of his own imagination. This was especially true during the more challenging periods of his life. His interest in science played an important role in developing believable worlds; an interest which eventually led to studying for a master’s degree in Chemistry, but also opened his eyes to new possibilities for exploration of the stories trapped inside his head. Putting the stories to paper began more as a hobby, a time alone with his thoughts where he could let his imagination run riot. The more he wrote, the more he wanted to write. During his exams in school, he could use an offline computer to type his answers because of terrible handwriting and dyslexia. Spending so much time writing helped enormously with his spelling difficulties through the sheer volume of repetition. Now he is letting loose the stories from his imagination in the hopes others may get lost in his world, as he did with others.

Book THE TRUTH OF THE ORIGIN OF THE UNIVERSE

Download or read book THE TRUTH OF THE ORIGIN OF THE UNIVERSE written by Sabrie Soloman and published by KHANNA PUBLISHING HOUSE. This book was released on 2024-06-12 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Matured Creation - Finely Tuned Earth The concept of a matured creation and a finely tuned Earth is a fascinating topic that has sparked much debate in the realms of science, religion, and philosophy. Proponents of this idea argue that the universe and the Earth were created in a state of maturity and perfection, with all the necessary conditions for life to thrive. One of the key arguments for a matured creation is the idea of fine-tuning in the universe. This concept suggests that the fundamental physical constants and laws of nature are precisely calibrated to allow for the existence of life as we know it. For example, if the strength of gravity or the electromagnetic force were even slightly different, life as we know it would not be possible. This level of precision has led some to suggest that a higher power must have orchestrated the creation of the universe with the express purpose of allowing life to flourish on Earth. Moreover, the Earth itself is viewed as a finely tuned machine that provides the perfect conditions for life. From the composition of the atmosphere to the distance of our planet from the sun, everything seems to be finely calibrated to allow for the existence of living organisms. The intricate ecosystems that exist on Earth further demonstrate the complexity and harmony of this finely tuned planet.
