Book Finding Christ Through Social Media Year One A365DayJourney to Learning How to Walk with God TruthwithGrace

Download or read book Finding Christ Through Social Media Year One A365DayJourney to Learning How to Walk with God TruthwithGrace written by Lea Michelle Johnson and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2017-03-16 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A nonfiction daily devotional with a twist. This is a story of a stay-at-home mother who was forgetting how to put God first in her day. This led to much struggle as God should be number one, but in going with the busy ways of the world, it's far too easy to forget how to see God in each new day. Lea Michelle's journey shows that walking with God is not something that is learned overnight. It takes great practice to learn how to be in the world but not of it! It takes a good solid year, 365 days, to build a lifelong routine of knowing how to make Christ a part of your day each and every day. It takes a year to discover how to never lose sight that the Holy Spirit gives us our daily bread and walks with us always. Lea Michelle's prayer is that you will pick up a pen and follow along with her journey. She has challenging questions at the end of each day for you to ponder. Challenge yourself and hold yourself accountable to walking with God each new day along with Lea Michelle. Share your heart for others to see on social media with the hashtag #A365DayJourney or share your discoveries in a private notebook. She prays that you too will open your eyes to a daily life, walking hand in hand, with our Savior Jesus Christ!

Download or read book Educating the Student Body written by Committee on Physical Activity and Physical Education in the School Environment and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2013-11-13 with total page 503 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physical inactivity is a key determinant of health across the lifespan. A lack of activity increases the risk of heart disease, colon and breast cancer, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, osteoporosis, anxiety and depression and others diseases. Emerging literature has suggested that in terms of mortality, the global population health burden of physical inactivity approaches that of cigarette smoking. The prevalence and substantial disease risk associated with physical inactivity has been described as a pandemic. The prevalence, health impact, and evidence of changeability all have resulted in calls for action to increase physical activity across the lifespan. In response to the need to find ways to make physical activity a health priority for youth, the Institute of Medicine's Committee on Physical Activity and Physical Education in the School Environment was formed. Its purpose was to review the current status of physical activity and physical education in the school environment, including before, during, and after school, and examine the influences of physical activity and physical education on the short and long term physical, cognitive and brain, and psychosocial health and development of children and adolescents. Educating the Student Body makes recommendations about approaches for strengthening and improving programs and policies for physical activity and physical education in the school environment. This report lays out a set of guiding principles to guide its work on these tasks. These included: recognizing the benefits of instilling life-long physical activity habits in children; the value of using systems thinking in improving physical activity and physical education in the school environment; the recognition of current disparities in opportunities and the need to achieve equity in physical activity and physical education; the importance of considering all types of school environments; the need to take into consideration the diversity of students as recommendations are developed. This report will be of interest to local and national policymakers, school officials, teachers, and the education community, researchers, professional organizations, and parents interested in physical activity, physical education, and health for school-aged children and adolescents.

Book Transforming Organizations

Download or read book Transforming Organizations written by Thomas A. Kochan and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1992 with total page 433 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines how organizations can, and should, transform their practices to compete in a world economy. Research results from a multi-disciplinary team of MIT researchers, along with the experiences and insights of a select group of industry practitioners, are integrated into a model that stresses the need for systemic and transformative rather than piecemeal or incremental changes in organization practices and public policy. This integration of research and experience results in an argument for a new organizational learning model--one capable of gaining advantage from employee diversity, cooperation across organizational boundaries, strategic restructuring, and advanced technology. The book begins with a foreword by Lester C. Thurow.

This book was released on 2013-10-06 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The beginning of the new millennium was characterized by company scandals in accounting around the world. A transparent and fair presentation of financial statements is beneficial for capital market participants. Especially around initial public offerings different incentives of these players exist to influence financial statements in diverse aspects. Therefore, studies of earnings management try to identify abnormal behavior. Peter Ising covers additional aspects to shed light on substantial drivers of discretionary reporting behavior around going public. Factors like influence on real activities, industry affiliation, and specific years in the IPO process add further insight to this theoretical and practical topic. The dependence on these factors is high and confirms that company specifics are important for interpretation of financial results.
