Book Metal Mediated Template Synthesis of Ligands

Download or read book Metal Mediated Template Synthesis of Ligands written by Otilia Costisor and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2004 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book surveys the relatively new area of the synthesis of organic ligands when metal ions act as a template. In the last fifty years this field has undergone an explosive development, marked by a great amount of literature. The material in the book has been arranged according to the type of chemical reaction involved. In this frame, the basic principles of metal template reactions and the shape of the molecules are considered. Designed to satisfy the demands of students, young researchers doing their PhDs, and those working in the field of coordination chemistry, the book details the role of the metal ions and the specific properties of the formed complexes. Metal Mediated Template Synthesis of Ligands offers a comprehensive analysis with wide-ranging references and provides an extensive overview of research on metal-directed organic ligands over the past five decades. Contents: The Template Effect; Alkylation Reactions; Schiff Condensation; Mannich Condensation; Self Condensation of Nitriles; Self-Assembled Systems. Readership: Upper level undergraduates, graduate students, academics, researchers industrialists in inorganic, solid-state, supramolecular and organic chemistry.

Book Solid Compounds of Transition Elements III

Download or read book Solid Compounds of Transition Elements III written by Ernst Bauer and published by Trans Tech Publications Ltd. This book was released on 2019-04-08 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume of the journal contains papers presented at the 21st International Conference on Solid Compounds of Transition Elements, SCTE 2018 which was held in the Technische Universität Wien, Austria, from March 25 to March 29, 2018. The conference was dedicated to fundamental and applied research regarding structure, crystal chemistry, chemical bonding, as well as with magnetic, thermodynamic, phononic and electronic properties of different classes of intermetallic compounds. Hydrides, borides, carbides, silicides and homologues, pnictides, chalcogenides, oxides and halides (especially those of low oxidation states exhibiting metal or semimetal properties) were in the focus of the conference also.

Book Machine Learning in Chemistry

Download or read book Machine Learning in Chemistry written by Jon Paul Janet and published by American Chemical Society. This book was released on 2020-05-28 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recent advances in machine learning or artificial intelligence for vision and natural language processing that have enabled the development of new technologies such as personal assistants or self-driving cars have brought machine learning and artificial intelligence to the forefront of popular culture. The accumulation of these algorithmic advances along with the increasing availability of large data sets and readily available high performance computing has played an important role in bringing machine learning applications to such a wide range of disciplines. Given the emphasis in the chemical sciences on the relationship between structure and function, whether in biochemistry or in materials chemistry, adoption of machine learning by chemistsderivations where they are important

Book Transition Metal and Rare Earth Compounds

Download or read book Transition Metal and Rare Earth Compounds written by Hartmut Yersin and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-07-01 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There exists a large literature on the spectroscopic properties of copper(II) com- 9 pounds. This is due to the simplicity of the d electron configuration, the wide variety of stereochemistries that copper(II) compounds can adopt, and the f- xional geometric behavior that they sometimes exhibit [1]. The electronic and geometric properties of a molecule are inexorably linked and this is especially true with six-coordinate copper(II) compounds which are subject to a Jahn-T- ler effect. However, the spectral-structural correlations that are sometimes d- wn must often be viewed with caution as the information contained in a typical solution UV-Vis absorption spectrum of a copper(II) compound is limited. Meaningful spectral-structural correlations can be obtained in a related series of compounds where detailed spectroscopic data is available. In the fol- 4– lowing sections two such series are examined; the six-coordinate CuF and 6 2+ Cu(H O) ions doped as impurities in single crystal hosts.Using low tempera- 2 6 ture polarized optical spectroscopy and electron paramagnetic resonance, a very detailed picture can be drawn about the geometry of these ions in both their ground and excited electronic states. We then compare the spectrosco- cally determined structural data with that obtained from X-ray diffraction or EXAFS measurements.
