Book Wrongfully Shackled

Download or read book Wrongfully Shackled written by Bernie Tocholke and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-02 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is everyday life in jail like, when justice turns insane? The author spent an entire year of his life "behind bars" and shares his experiences which melt away the fiction from the reality. Is the fictitious reputation correct that claims a jail actually is nothing but an elaborate and lavish gym which is restricted to these criminal members only? How much invasive and humiliating experiences actually are there from either other inmates, guards, or from the system itself? There might be a ton of questions. Experience the answers and truth through the eyes of someone that has been there. The author will not sugarcoat the reality nor does he want this book to be "politically correct". He is NOT striving to win friends with it. He just tells it exactly how he witnessed and experienced it.

Book Torn Asunder

Download or read book Torn Asunder written by Bernie Tocholke and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2008-11-04 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a very detailed experience of what it was like within a certain cult. The author reveals many incidents and situations that he experienced or witnessed while being a member of it for several years. He gives descriptive details on the child abuse, the cult's practices, their beliefs, and how marriages like his own, get destroyed by their ministry. His purpose for writing this book is to inform, protect, and prevent the reader of this book from making the same mistake that he was trapped with. Upon reading this book, the reader will get an insight which creates nearly an immunity against the cult's schemes of entrapment. The author's desire is that he wishes that someone else could have given him a book like this before he became ensnared by their tactics. If the horrors of abuse and death mentioned in this book has already been experienced by the reader, they have already fallen prey and became a victim of the cult. The majority of the contents of this book, is behind the scenes and secret from a casual visitor or general public spectator. Some contents are shocking! This anthology of prose translations covers most of the surviving poetry, revealing a tradition which is outstanding among early medieval literatures for its sophisticated exploration of the human condition in a mutable, finite, but wonderfully diverse and meaning-filled world.

Book Breaking the Shackles Contemporary Perspectives in Paul s Letter to the Galatians

Download or read book Breaking the Shackles Contemporary Perspectives in Paul s Letter to the Galatians written by Samson Gitau and published by Author House. This book was released on 2008-11-25 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Breaking the Shackles by Samson Gitau examines Paul's Epistle to the Galatians from contemporary perspectives. The Galatians, the first group of converts in Asia Minor, were weighed down and imprisoned by a heavy baggage, a carry over from their fickle heathen practices. The baggage hindered the galatians in their attempts to embrace the christian life of grace and freedom. They fell easy prey to the Judaizing Christians with their insistence that to be Christian one had first to be Jewish, be circumcised and adhere to the Mosaic traditions. Having been liberated by the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Galatians were imprisoning themselves all over again. Enraged by the sudden departure of his converts from the faith he had preached to them, Paul wrote to the Galatians reprimanding them for their unbecoming and foolish conduct. The behavior of the Galatians finds parallels in contemporary Christian life. Gitau examines some of these practices citing examples from his experiences as a priest in Kenya and in the United States.

Prepare to accept no excuse for people who lie or indulge in deceptive practices. Be on guard against people who will distort the truth in order to further their own interest. These people are a travesty against all society. They purge innocent people and ruin innocent lives. Be prepared to accept the truth no matter how difficult it may be. "Through faith the truth becomes known. When the truth becomes known, the person to whom truth is revealed gains knowledge. Then the knowledge of that truth revealed through faith serves to develop the understanding of that individual. Remember this word of the Lord. Faith begets truth. From truth is born knowledge, through knowledge, understanding. Through understanding wisdom is born. Wisdom is that understanding which enables a person to know the truth of My holy word through faith. From this fountain of wisdom comes forth all inspiration of the Holy Spirit."

Book The Length of the Shackles

Download or read book The Length of the Shackles written by Denis Collin and published by Max Milo. This book was released on 2023-07-04 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our contemporary societies let us believe that we are free—it is a delusion. We are still shackled in our chains, even in the West. Chains that we take for wings: we believe ourselves to be in a democracy, we think that work allows us to emancipate ourselves, and we imagine that new technologies facilitate our lives. This is our daily “Newspeak.” But oligarchy reigns. People are mired in consumerism and liberalism. Security control is more and more prevalent, while medical progress in procreation brings us closer to an “industrial fabrication of human beings.” In this context, we must question and rethink the conditions of a true human liberation. This is the work that Denis Collin has undertaken. Basing himself on numerous historical and philosophical references, he redefines the concepts and opens up new political, economic, social and metaphysical perspectives. The setting up of “partial associations” at all levels of political organization, the end of wage labor in favor of the cooperation of producers, the realization of man through his creative activity, the guarantee of the primacy of subjectivity in the face of scientism, are among the weapons intended to break our chains. Denis Collin is an associate professor of philosophy and holds a doctorate in literature and the humanities. His publications include, Le Cauchemar de Marx (Marx’s Nightmare) (Max Milo, 2009), Revive la République (Revive the Republic) (Armand Colin, 2005) and Morale et Justice sociale (Morality and Social Justice) (Seuil, 2001).

Book excerpt: “If you enjoy your cozy mysteries with a good shot of romance, and a love triangle with a sexy bad boy and a Southern gentleman in the mix, then you will love this. Very reminiscent of the Stephanie Plum books, but the laughs are louder, the romance is sexier and there is a great murder mystery to top it off.” Bella McGuire, Cozy Mystery Book Reviews Savannah Martin has always been a good girl, doing what was expected and fully expecting life to fall into place in its turn. But when her perfect husband turns out to be a lying, cheating slimeball - and bad in bed to boot - Savannah kicks the jerk to the curb and embarks on life on her own terms. With a new apartment, a new career, and a brand new outlook on life, she's all set to take the world by storm. If only the world would stop throwing her curveballs... When Savannah’s husband Rafe loses his position with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations, Savannah gets excited about the prospect of them taking their new baby and moving back to their hometown of Sweetwater. Rafe has already received a job offer from the Columbia Police Department, and although he doesn’t seem terribly interested in accepting, Savannah would enjoy having her family around, not to mention Rafe’s grandmother Mrs. Jenkins. But before they can make any decisions, Rafe’s former boss at the TBI turns up dead. And Rick Goins, the MNPD detective in charge, seems determined to prove that Rafe had something to do with it. Detective Tamara Grimaldi, former colleague of Goins and now Chief of Police for Columbia, swears that while it might take him some time, Goins usually comes up with the right solution in the end. But with fresh victims dropping like flies, and someone seemingly doing their best to fan the flames of Goins’s biases, Savannah isn’t sure she can wait for the detective to come to his senses. Because while she’d like to move back to Sweetwater, she doesn’t want it to be because her husband is behind bars… “VERDICT: The hilarious dialog and the tension between Savannah and Rafe will delight fans of chick-lit mysteries and romantic suspense.” —Jo Ann Vicarel, Library Journal TOPICS: romantic mystery, romantic suspense, interracial romance, multicultural romance, female protagonist, woman sleuth, amateur sleuth, cozy mystery, Southern humor, mystery series, romance series, bestseller,
