Book How to Design a Worm Gear

Download or read book How to Design a Worm Gear written by Hyo Jun Kwon and published by e퍼플. This book was released on 2022-08-27 with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the design of the worm gear set(enveloping worm gear set). We used international standards that apply to different industries to address the design methodology and the calculation of units and figures for design variables. In addition, the design of the gear teeth was described, which covered only the ZK teeth. Readers were given access to this book to design industrial worm gear sets, and to refer to different standards for other incidental design options, so that they could be applied to the design of other mechanical systems as well as the worm gear set. Using a basic engineering design program, we presented examples and practice questions to design the worm gear set so that the reader can learn by himself.

Book Design of Worm and Spiral Gears

Download or read book Design of Worm and Spiral Gears written by Earle Buckingham and published by . This book was released on 1960 with total page 472 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discusses the nature of the action involved in screw gearing, the attendant contact conditions and how all-recess action design concepts can improve load-carrying and life capacity. Provides observations based on the authors' experience and worked-out step-by-step examples that will sharpen the reader's judgement of what to do and what not to do in spiral and worm gear design. Contains the formulas, diagrams, and methods needed to solve bearing load problems. Discusses in detail how graphical methods are used to determine contact conditions on spiral drives and worm drives that are based on the use of both the screw helicoid thread form and the involute helicoid form. Shows how beam strength, limiting loads for wear, and dynamic loads on spiral and worm gears are evaluated.

Book Spiral and Worm Gearing

Download or read book Spiral and Worm Gearing written by Erik Oberg and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-10-26 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Spiral and Worm Gearing: A Treatise on the Principles, Dimensions, Calculation and Design of Spiral and Worm Gearing, Together With Chapters on the Methods of Cutting the Teeth in These Types of Gears The manner in which machinery's book, Spur and Bevel Gearing, has been received by the mechanical world has prompted the compilation and publication of a companion book on Spiral and Worm Gearing. This subject has often been presented in so theoretical a manner that many have assumed it to be very difficult to master. It is possible, however, to present the principles of design and calculation of spiral and worm gearing in such a way that they can be readily under stood without resorting to a highly theoretical treatment; and in preparing this book, the first consideration on the part of the editor has therefore been to treat the subject in such'a way as to meet the practical requirementsof the machine-building trade. As a result, in this book, as well as in the companion book, Spur and Bevel Gearing, mere theory and academic discus sions have been avoided. The rules, formulas and instruc tions given are illustrated with engravings whenever necessary, and numerous examples are given to show their application to problems met with in machine design. Theoretical considera tions, however, have not been neglected in cases where they have been found necessary to fully explain a practical process, and this book is, therefore, a treatise on both the theory and practice of spiral and worm gearing along such lines as will make it especially useful to practical men.
