Book excerpt: The book is a comprehensive presentation of the life and professional career of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was born into a poor Portuguese family but worked hard and smartly through myriads of challenges to consistently achieve unbelieavable and unprecedented feats that earned him a plethora of individual awards and accomplishments; immensely inspired successes and extraordinary feats for both the professional football clubs he played for in England (Manchester United), Spain (Real Madrid) and Italy (Juventus) and both the Junior and Senior Teams of his formative club, Sporting CP Lisbon, and the Portugal National Team. It opens with an introduction, followed by the early chapter of his life that involves his parents, siblings and where he was born and bred, while also providing insights into his first steps towards a football career as he joined the local CF Andorinha Youth Team at age 7. It then moves on to his transition from an amateur football academy to a professional one as at the age of 10, he joined the Nacional Football Academy up in the high altitudes of his Madeiran Island home region, and after showcasing his wonderful genius by being both the Best Player and Top Scorer at the Regional Under-13 Championship at the end of his first season there, he was signed by Sporting Lisbon at the age of 11, a development that meant he left his loved ones at a very tender age and travelled 967 kilometres away to stay and train with the Sub-15 team of his new club in a very different environment where he knew no one. His journey continues with him being promoted to the Sub-17 Team at the end of his first season at age 12; becoming a semi-professional footballer at the age of 14; being promoted to the Under-19 Team at the age of 15, a few months after overoming a racing heart condition; and him making debuts and playing for the Portugal Under-15 and Under-17 Junior National Teams during his breakthrough 2001/02 season. The ensuing chapter details how following his outstanding performances, he was promoted to the First Team as a professional footballer at the age of 17 ahead of the 2002/03 season, during which he helped his club win the Portuguese Super Cup and his several goals and assists ensured they finished third in the league; and led the Portugal Under-20 Team to victory at the 2003 Toulon Tournament. The trail continues with his remarkable showings that earned him a dream move to Manchester United at the age of 18 that historically made him the Most Expensive Teenager in English Football at the time ahead of the 2003/04 season, during which he inspired his club to FA Cup glory; concluded his Portugal Junior Team career with 18 goals and dozens of created chances in 38 appearances; and made his debut for the Portugal Senior National Team as the First Ever from Madeira, inspiring the team to a Silver Medal at his debut international football tournament, 2004 EURO, where his performances earned him a place in the Team of the Tournament that hepled historically make him the Youngest Ever to earn a UEFA Team of the Year place, at its 2004 edition. It then moves on to how after having won every individual and team honor and setting historical records in Manchester United and English Football, and mostly doing the same in European and World Club football and becoming Captain of Portugal, he moved to Real Madrid ahead of the 2009/0 season. It then delves into how after he had played 9 seasons with Real Madrid, setting a myriad of records and earning multiple editions of every individual honor in Spanish, European, and World Football and Global Sports, and inspiring the club and his National Team to unprecedented success while being a very active philanthropist and entrepreneur, he moved to Juventus ahead of the 2018/19 season. After exploring how he cemented his legacy as the World''s Greatest Ever Soccer Player with his outstanding performances in Italian and International Football for Juventus and Portugal, it ends with a conclusion.
