Download or read book SoulCollage written by Seena B. Frost and published by Mitchell Beazley. This book was released on 2001 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "SoulCollageTM is a process through which you contact your intuition and create an incredible deck of cards which have deep personal meaning and which will help you with life's questions. Following the simple SoulCollage directions, your hands move fragments of cut-out magazine pictures around, fitting them together in a surprising new way and gluing them down on a card. Cards containing the images you select -- or the images that select you -- come straight through your Soul, bypassing the mind. This is a multi-leveled, creative process which anyone can do. All you need is a good pair of scissors, pre-cut mat board cards, glue, and images you can cut out from magazines, greeting cards, personal photos, postcards, catalogues, and calendars. It is wonderful to have other people with whom to share the process. The cards are fun to take to a friend's house, to work with in therapy or support groups, or to keep on your coffee table."--Publisher description.

Download or read book The Routledge Companion to Mobile Media Art written by Larissa Hjorth and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-07-28 with total page 804 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this companion, a diverse, international and interdisciplinary group of contributors and editors examine the rapidly expanding, far-reaching field of mobile media as it intersects with art across a range of spaces—theoretical, practical and conceptual. As a vehicle for—and of—the everyday, mobile media is recalibrating the relationship between art and digital networked media, and reshaping how creative practices such as writing, photography, video art and filmmaking are being conceptualized and practised. In exploring these innovations, The Routledge Companion to Mobile Media Art pulls together comprehensive, culturally nuanced and interdisciplinary approaches; considerations of broader media ecologies and histories and political, social and cultural dynamics; and critical and considered perspectives on the intersections between mobile media and art. This book is the definitive publication for researchers, artists and students interested in comprehending all the various aspects of mobile media art, covering digital media and culture, internet studies, games studies, anthropology, sociology, geography, media and communication, cultural studies and design.

Download or read book Sensor Systems and Software written by Stephen Hailes and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-01-13 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The First International ICST Conference on Sensor Systems and Software (S-cube 2009) was held during 7–8 September in Pisa, Italy. This new international conference was dedicated to addressing the research challenges facing system dev- opment and software support for systems based on wireless sensor networks (WSNs) that have the potential to impact society in many ways. Currently, wireless sensor networks introduce innovative and interesting application scenarios that may support a large amount of different applications including environmental monitoring, disaster prevention, building automation, object tracking, nuclear reactor control, fire det- tion, agriculture, healthcare, and traffic monitoring. The widespread acceptance of these new services can be improved by the definition of frameworks and architectures that have the potential to radically simplify software development for wireless sensor network-based applications. The aim of these new architectures is to support flexible, scalable programming of applications based on adaptive middleware. As a con- quence, WSNs require novel programming paradigms and technologies. Moreover, the design of new complex systems, characterized by the interaction of different and heterogeneous resources, will allow the development of innovative applications that meet high-performance goals. Hence, WSNs require contributions from many fields such as embedded systems, distributed systems, data management, system security and applications. The conference places emphasis on layers well above the traditional MAC and routing and transport layer protocols.
Download or read book Handbook of Design Research Methods in Education written by Anthony E. Kelly and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-07-16 with total page 660 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Handbook presents the latest thinking and current examples of design research in education. Design-based research involves introducing innovations into real-world practices (as opposed to constrained laboratory contexts) and examining the impact of those designs on the learning process. Designed prototype applications (e.g., instructional methods, software or materials) and the research findings are then cycled back into the next iteration of the design innovation in order to build evidence of the particular theories being researched, and to positively impact practice and the diffusion of the innovation. The Handbook of Design Research Methods in Education-- the defining book for the field -- fills a need in how to conduct design research by those doing so right now. The chapters represent a broad array of interpretations and examples of how today’s design researchers conceptualize this emergent methodology across areas as diverse as educational leadership, diffusion of innovations, complexity theory, and curriculum research. This volume is designed as a guide for doctoral students, early career researchers and cross-over researchers from fields outside of education interested in supporting innovation in educational settings through conducting design research.
