Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is gratifying to see that philosophers' continued interest in Words and Objections has been so strong as to motivate a paperback edition. This is gratifying because it vindicates the editors' belief in the permanent im portance of Quine's philosophy and in the value of the papers com menting on it which were collected in our volume. Apart from a couple of small corrections, only one change has been made. The list of Professor Quine's writings has been brought up to date. The editors cannot claim any credit for this improvement, however. We have not tried to imitate the Library of Living Philosophers volumes and to include Professor Quine's autobiography in this volume, but we are fortunate to publish here his brand-new auto bibliography. 1975 THE EDITORS TABLE OF CONTENTS V PREFACE 1 EDITORIAL INTRODUCTION 1. 1. Book Overcoming Objections

Download or read book Overcoming Objections written by Keith Schreiter and published by Fortune Network Publishing Inc.. This book was released on 2022-05-01 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Objections happen. Ouch! We don’t like them. We feel rejected. We begin our defensive mode. It doesn’t have to be this way. Instead, what if: - We knew how to prevent objections? - We could eliminate fear and rejection? - We could easily handle the few remaining objections, and turn them into “yes” decisions? Objections are not a live/die, win/lose, fight-to-the-death verbal combat. Most objections are simply unanswered questions in our prospects’ minds. They want what we have to offer, but uncertainty holds them back. How do we change this scenario? Two ways. #1. Learn how to prevent objections. #2. Exactly how to answer raised objections. The good news? We can master these two ways and totally remove our fear of objections. Now our network marketing business becomes more fun. We will look forward to our conversations with our prospects. More good news? We can agree with our prospects. We can honor their point of view. Our relationship remains strong. And want to turn our skills into superskills? Part two introduces us to the magic of word pictures. Yes, we can transcend many objections by instilling bigger visions. When our prospects' vision is big enough, nothing will stand in their way. Learn the basic objection templates here. See the word-for-word answers that put our prospects back into their buying and joining modes.

Book Conscience and Conscientious Objections

Download or read book Conscience and Conscientious Objections written by Anders Schinkel and published by Amsterdam University Press. This book was released on 2007-01-01 with total page 639 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Western countries conscientious objection is usually accommodated in various ways, at least in certain areas (military conscription, medicine) and to some extent. It appears to be regarded as fundamentally different from other kinds of objection. But why? This study argues that conscientious objection cannot be understood as long as conscience is misunderstood. The author provides a new interpretation of the historical development of expressions of conscience and thought on the subject, and offers a new approach to conscientious objection rooted in the symbol-approach to conscience.
