Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book of sexual magicks in both theory and practice fromthe feminine power zones and from their own points of view. Very littlehas been written on this. It is a compilation composed of the text andart of sixteen practicing female magickians through which the vitalcharacter of a Babalon is explored. Both the elder and younger Babalons write here in order to expandupon this almost taboo subject. Linda Falorio, one of the writers within, says "Men, read on if you want to know our deepest secrets."This book focuses on the 'what, ' the 'who' and the 'how' of thepractice. The materials are mutli-generational, multi-cultural and multi-systematic, though with a strong emphasis on Thelemic. No 'right' way is posited. Often seen 'shoulds' are replaced by anethic that values Choice.Being a Babalon is both a spiritual and social challenge. There areno more optimal conditions outside of an open heart and mind. She ismuch more than any sexual orientation or specific sexual act.Although there is no definitive word or image which captures thetotality of what it means to be a Babalon, her very nature speaks toChange. Babalon spins and the walls between worlds revolve. Herspinning gives form to the very womb of life. She rides upon a crestthat peeks into the heavens, and descends into the very heart of hell. The papers and images in this book document this journey, and thehowling of women will now make itself heard! - 6x9 edition - 8x10 also availabl

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the conventional dichotomy of chaste, pure Madonna and libidinous whore, the former has usually been viewed as the ideal form of femininity. However, there is a modern religious movement in which the negative stereotype of the harlot is inverted and exalted. The Eloquent Blood focuses on the changing construction of femininity and feminine sexuality in interpretations of the goddess Babalon. A central deity in Thelema, the religion founded by the notorious British occultist Aleister Crowley (1875-1947), Babalon is based on Crowley's favorable reinterpretation of the biblical Whore of Babylon, and is associated with liberated female sexuality and the spiritual ideal of passionate union with existence. Analyzing historical and contemporary written sources, qualitative interviews, and ethnographic fieldwork in the Anglo-American esoteric milieu, the study traces interpretations of Babalon from the works of Crowley and some of his key disciples--including the rocket scientist John "Jack" Whiteside Parsons, and the enigmatic British occultist Kenneth Grant--until the present. From the 1990s onwards, this study shows, female and LGBTQ esotericists have challenged historical interpretations of Babalon, drawing on feminist and queer thought and conceptualizing femininity in new ways. Tracing the trajectory of a particular gendered symbol from the fin-de-siècle until today, Manon Hedenborg White explores the changing role of women in Western esotericism, and shows how evolving constructions of gender have shaped the development of esotericism. Combining research on historical and contemporary Western esotericism with feminist and queer theory, the book sheds new light on the ways in which esoteric movements and systems of thought have developed over time in relation to political movements.

The Shadow Tarot, first published in 1988 has been distributed in countries all around the world and is in use on every continent of the Planet. This newly released and much anticipated edition of The Shadow Tarot includes full color images of all seventy-eight cards representing both Major and Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana cards are based on the twenty-two paths of the Qliphoth described by Aleister Crowley in his Liber 231 and further embellished by Kenneth Grant in his The Nightside Of Eden. The Minor Arcana of this new edition arise from the entities described in the Goetia. The Shadow Tarot has been created as an exploration tool for delving into those areas of the psyche that find their reflection in the Collective Unconscious and the Archetypal Shadow. The images represent the Nightside of consciousness as opposed to our ordinary "dayside" reality. Through her art and writing Linda seeks to create a direct outré experience in the viewer of transforming states of self-awareness; to open Gates into vast, unexplored inner geographies of the psyche, finding beauty and power in the twistings and turnings of the Inner Labyrinth. The artist is also known for her magickal altarpieces, for magickal portraits and for interpreting personal symbols and dreams on canvas.

Download or read book Under My Thumb written by Rhian Jones and published by Watkins Media Limited. This book was released on 2017-10-17 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Women write about their experiences of loving music that doesn’t love them back – a feminist 'guilty pleasures'.e - a kind of feminist guilty pleasures. In the majority of mainstream writing and discussions on music, women appear purely in relation to men as muses, groupies or fangirls, with our own experiences, ideas and arguments dismissed or ignored. But this hasn’t stopped generations of women from loving, being moved by and critically appreciating music, even – and sometimes especially – when we feel we shouldn’t. Under My Thumb: Songs that Hate Women and the Women Who Love Them is a study of misogyny in music through the eyes of women. It brings together stories from journalists, critics, musicians and fans about artists or songs we love (or used to love) despite their questionable or troubling gender politics, and looks at how these issues interact with race, class and sexuality. As much celebration as critique, this collection explores the joys, tensions, contradictions and complexities of women loving music – however that music may feel about them. Featuring: murder ballads, country, metal, hip hop, emo, indie, Phil Spector, David Bowie, Guns N’ Roses, 2Pac, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, AC/DC, Elvis Costello, Jarvis Cocker, Kanye West, Swans, Eminem, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Combichrist and many more.

A tarot (Rota) of these entities is given along with attributions and images."Up until now, our Western magickal community has looked into the faces of our god of light, but not into the faces of our gods of darkness. What is darkness? Simply put, it is our inability to see what we have thrust aside. The darkness is our own."The need to become balanced grows. These rituals and talismans can assist the magickian in the quest for this balance.
