Book excerpt: Tools to awaken the creative powers of the womb • Contains exercises to open the womb’s energetic pathways, release toxic emotions, and harness creative potential • Reveals how the womb’s energies are crucial for the spiritual shift of 2012: birthing a new civilization • Shows how the awakened womb can also bring about male spiritual transformation In the past and in present-day indigenous traditions, women have known that the womb houses the greatest power a woman possesses: the power to create on all levels. Utilized in the process of giving birth, this power of creation can also be tapped in the birth of projects, careers, personal healing, spirituality, and relationships. However, because the womb stores the energetic imprint of every intimate encounter--loving or not--the creative voice of the womb is often muffled or absent altogether, affecting the emotional, mental, and spiritual health of women and their relationships. Drawing on sacred traditions from ancient India, Tibet, Egypt, Gnostic Christianity, and Judaism, the practice of Womb Wisdom empowers women to become aware of the intuitive voice of the womb outside of pregnancy and the moon cycle to unlock this potent inner source for creativity, birthing the new conscious children, spiritual growth, and transformation not only for themselves but also for their male partners. The authors include exercises to clear the past, release toxic emotions, open the womb’s energetic pathways, activate the sacred sensual self, bring balance to relationships, and harness creative potential. Including intimate, individual stories of women experiencing the opening of the womb, this book also explores the forgotten sacred sites of the womb around the world as well as how the womb’s energies are crucial to birth a new civilization in the spiritual shift of 2012.

Book Finding Joy in Joyce

Download or read book Finding Joy in Joyce written by John P. Anderson and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 2000 with total page 620 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a detailed reader's guide to James Joyce's masterwork Ulysses, voted the most important novel of the 20th century. The guide provides episode by episode an in depth explanation of the action and symbolism, including a description of the related books of Homer's Odyssey and the correspondences. This guide is designed to give the user the keys to the kingdom of one of the wonders of Western civilization. The non-academic author, a retired lawyer and life long Joyce reader, brings new approaches to find the deep meaning of each of Joyce's episodes and the novel as a whole. The scope of this effort, the complete Joyce, is unique in an area monopolized by more narrowly focused academics. The analysis elucidates Joyce's technique to mimic patterns in history and nature in his architecture of coherence. His medicine for the diseased spirit of our age is a custom blend of Jesus and Buddha, not as they are marketed by institutional religions, but as they lived their lives as humans. Joyce's god is more possibilities in life and art, and this guide will do that for you.

Book Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of All Nations Pray for Us

Download or read book Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of All Nations Pray for Us written by Patricia J. Vazquez and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-04 with total page 66 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about prayers for an end to abortion. People of all faiths who believe in God can pray the prayers in this book. While praying in a Eucharistic perpetual adoration chapel in a Catholic church, Patricia witnessed a miracle there. She found the miracle was still there the following day when she returned and took pictures of this miracle. She spent time in prayer there and writing in her journal. Through inner locutions (messages) from God (while she was writing in the Eucharistic perpetual adoration chapel), God told her a "new parable of a mustard seed." God asked her to write a prayer book of nine days of prayers for an end to abortions. God explained to her what the title of the book would be, how the cover of the book would appear, and how a professional portrait painter was to depict the Blessed Virgin Mary and Jesus to be standing in a field of mustard flowers. Patricia received many graces and witnessed many different miracles on her journey to bring this book to fruition. Patricia shared her manuscript with six Catholic priests from different Catholic churches, and a few of their comments were: "Follow Jesus"; "Jesus is the Way, and the Truth, and the Life"; "get this manuscript published"; "I like the new parable of the mustard seed"; and "getting this manuscript published, Patricia would be doing a great deed for Almighty God."

Book Womb Awakening

Download or read book Womb Awakening written by Azra Bertrand and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2017-08-15 with total page 649 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rediscover the lost ancient mystery teachings of the Cosmic Womb • 2017 Nautilus Silver Award • Explains how each of us has a holographic blueprint of the Womb of Creation, our spiritual Womb • Offers practices to help awaken your spiritual Womb, experience the Womb of God within, and activate the Womb’s sacred magic of creation and manifestation • Looks at the power of the moon and its connection to sacred Womb Consciousness • Explores how the lost Womb mystery teachings were encoded in folk and fairy tales, the legends of the Holy Grail, and the traditions of Mary Magdalene and Sophia • Includes access to three guided Womb Awakening audio journeys The Ancients lived by a feminine cosmology of creation, where everything was birthed and dissolved through a sacred universal Womb. Within each of us, whether female or male, lies a holographic blueprint of this Womb of Creation, connecting us to the Web of Life. By awakening your spiritual Womb, the holy of holies within the temple of your body, you can reconnect to the transformative energy of Womb Consciousness and reclaim your sacred powers of creation and love. Drawing on mythical and spiritual traditions from almost every culture, Dr. Azra and Seren Bertrand reconstruct the moon-based feminine mystery teachings of a lost global Womb religion, tracing the tradition all the way back to the Neanderthals and beyond. They explore how these teachings were encoded in the symbolism of folk and fairy tales; the legends of the Holy Grail; the traditions of Mary Magdalene and Sophia; the maiden, queen, and crone archetypes; and the teachings of alchemy and the chakras. They show how sages and shamans across the globe all secretly spoke of the Cosmic Womb and the sacred creative powers of Moon Blood. The authors look at the power of the Moon and its connection to sacred Womb Consciousness, offering meditations and practices to help awaken your spiritual Womb and activate its sacred magic of creation and manifestation. They explain how to activate the energetic gateways of the Womb and merge the heart and Womb to make sexual union the highest sacrament of love. Revealing how we must reconnect with the Divine Feminine to rebirth the Divine Masculine and restore balance to our world, they show how, as we reawaken the powerful ancient path of the Womb Mysteries, we help return our world to harmony with the wild, untamed creative flows and cyclical rhythms of the cosmos.

Book Putting Modernism Together

Download or read book Putting Modernism Together written by Daniel Albright and published by JHU Press. This book was released on 2015-06-10 with total page 429 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A powerful introduction to modernism and the creative arts it inspired. How do you rationally connect the diverse literature, music, and painting of an age? Throughout the modernist era—which began roughly in 1872 with the Franco-Prussian War, climaxed with the Great War, and ended with a third catastrophe, the Great Depression—there was a special belligerence to this question. It was a cultural period that envisioned many different models of itself: to the Cubists, it looked like a vast jigsaw puzzle; to the Expressionists, it resembled a convulsive body; to the Dadaists, it brought to mind a heap of junk following an explosion. In Putting Modernism Together, Daniel Albright searches for the center of the modernist movement by assessing these various artistic models, exploring how they generated a stunning range of creative work that was nonetheless wound together aesthetically, and sorting out the cultural assumptions that made each philosophical system attractive. Emerging from Albright's lectures for a popular Harvard University course of the same name, the book investigates different methodologies for comparing the evolution and congruence of artistic movements by studying simultaneous developments that occurred during particularly key modernist years. What does it mean, Albright asks, that Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness, published in 1899, appeared at the same time as Claude Debussy's Nocturnes—beyond the fact that the word "Impressionist" has been used to describe each work? Why, in 1912, did the composer Arnold Schoenberg and the painter Vassily Kandinsky feel such striking artistic kinship? And how can we make sense of a movement, fragmented by isms, that looked for value in all sorts of under- or ill-valued places, including evil (Baudelaire), dung heaps (Chekhov), noise (Russolo), obscenity (Lawrence), and triviality (Satie)? Throughout Putting Modernism Together, Albright argues that human culture can best be understood as a growth-pattern or ramifying of artistic, intellectual, and political action. Going beyond merely explaining how the artists in these genres achieved their peculiar effects, he presents challenging new analyses of telling craft details which help students and scholars come to know more fully this bold age of aesthetic extremism.

Book Esoteric Buddhism and Texts

Download or read book Esoteric Buddhism and Texts written by Jinhua Chen and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-02-08 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores trans-cultural and cross-border transformation of Esoteric Buddhism in East Asia, focusing on the significance of Esoteric Buddhism in relation to some forms of material culture, including rituals, arts, and the construction of sacred space and narratives. In East Asia, Esoteric Buddhism’s influences can be seen across all levels of society: not only in that it achieved a recognizable sectarian identity, but also because elements of esoteric teachings were absorbed by other religious schools, influencing their philosophical tenets and everyday practices. The influence was not confined to the religious sphere: scholars have been paying more and more attention to the significance of Tang Esoteric Buddhism in relation to material culture and the dissemination of Esoteric Buddhist technologies in South, Central, and East Asia. No matter how one looks at a maṇḍala—an integral feature of esoteric practice—or the uncannily expressive statues of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas or Yidam that come in all shapes and sizes, or the murals that depict the variegated, mysterious themes of the esoteric tradition, one can always recognise the profound connection between art and Esoteric Buddhism. Esoteric Influences also abound in East Asian literature across different genres, displaying its unique characters both in poetry and prose. Likewise, in architecture, one can readily make out the enigmatic, colorful and distinctive elements characteristic of the esoteric tradition. Monks initiated into the esoteric lineages not only brought Buddhist classics and practices to China, but also advanced knowledge in astronomy, calendarial calculations and mathematical theories. The chapters in this volume investigate the profound and far-reaching impacts wrought by Esoteric Buddhism on rituals, arts, and the construction of sacred space and narratives in East Asia. This book will be beneficial to advanced students and researchers interested in Religious Studies, History and Buddhist studies. It was originally published as a special issue of Studies in Chinese Religions.

Book Holy Matter

    Book Details:
  • Author : Sara Ritchey
  • Publisher : Cornell University Press
  • Release : 2014-04-01
  • ISBN : 0801470951
  • Pages : 249 pages

Download or read book Holy Matter written by Sara Ritchey and published by Cornell University Press. This book was released on 2014-04-01 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A magnificent proliferation of new Christ-centered devotional practices—including affective meditation, imitative suffering, crusade, Eucharistic cults and miracles, passion drama, and liturgical performance—reveals profound changes in the Western Christian temperament of the twelfth century and beyond. This change has often been attributed by scholars to an increasing emphasis on God’s embodiment in the incarnation and crucifixion of Christ. In Holy Matter, Sara Ritchey offers a fresh narrative explaining theological and devotional change by journeying beyond the human body to ask how religious men and women understood the effects of God’s incarnation on the natural, material world. She finds a remarkable willingness on the part of medieval Christians to embrace the material world—its trees, flowers, vines, its worms and wolves—as a locus for divine encounter. Early signs that perceptions of the material world were shifting can be seen in reformed communities of religious women in the twelfth-century Rhineland. Here Ritchey finds that, in response to the constraints of gendered regulations and spiritual ideals, women created new identities as virgins who, like the mother of Christ, impelled the world’s re-creation—their notion of the world’s re-creation held that God created the world a second time when Christ was born. In this second act of creation God was seen to be present in the physical world, thus making matter holy. Ritchey then traces the diffusion of this new religious doctrine beyond the Rhineland, showing the profound impact it had on both women and men in professed religious life, especially Franciscans in Italy and Carthusians in England. Drawing on a wide range of sources including art, liturgy, prayer, poetry, meditative guides, and treatises of spiritual instruction, Holy Matter reveals an important transformation in late medieval devotional practice, a shift from metaphor to material, from gazing on images of a God made visible in the splendor of natural beauty to looking at the natural world itself, and finding there God’s presence and promise of salvation.
