Book With the Almighty Nothing Succeeds Like Failure

Download or read book With the Almighty Nothing Succeeds Like Failure written by ,Shelemiah and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-05-06 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My new life in Christ. Finally I am happy to live up to my name Shelemiah, the priest who was made treasurer of the treasures" (Nehemiah 13:13). The name means "friend of God." One business in accounting has sustained me for fifty-one years. After one of five surgeries, life changed. I felt the presence of hands one the left and on the right, but I couldn't see who they were. They began to escort me from my bed. While leaving, I looked back at my bed and saw my body yet on the bed, while being carried upward toward a light and the darkness felt like link cotton. All of a sudden my escort stopped. Seven sheets of my life came before me. Being rebellious, I remember how I walked away from the call of God. All of a sudden, my escort dropped me. While falling, I heard crying, wailing, and all sorts of sounds. The longer I fell, the hotter it got; it felt like I was inside a microwave. While in this trance, I touched my left arm to see if it would fall apart. Here I began to plead for my life, "Please don't let me fall any farther." The Scriptures came to me of a man who went to a wedding who did not have his wedding garments on (Matthew 22:11–14). While pleading, I promise the Lord, "I WILL SAY WHAT YOU WANT ME TO SAY. I WILL DO WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO. I WILL PREACH WHAT YOU WANT ME TO PREACH." I CAN TRULY SAY, WITH THE ALMIGHTY, NOTHING SUCCEEDS LIKE FAILURE.

Book No Success Like Failure

Download or read book No Success Like Failure written by Ivan Solotaroff and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Looking for America? asks Sam Toperoff, Ivan Solotaroff has drawn the map, and it takes you down, down, down, to the junkyard of the Dream Machine. He tells us exactly what happens when the Devil comes to collect and tells it brilliantly. Ivan Solotaroff never blinks. Never. A remorselessly dispassionate chronicler of the absurd, the troubled, and the deformed, Ivan Solotaroff has an uncanny ability to find his way into the private lives of public figures at their moments of greatest epiphany, abasement, and deluded grandeur. With none of the judgement, artifice, or tropes of literary journalism, the eleven essays of No Success Like Failure present a vision of the American ego at its most fragile. Among them: Sympathy for the Devil on the life, times, and burgeoning environmental awareness of Charles Manson; In the Land of the Fischer King, an account of Bobby Fischer's public reappearance in war-ravaged Serbia-Montenegro; Once a Man, Twice a Child, which covers the criminal trials of soul-star James Brown; Superhuman, All Too Superhuman, on the pugilistic career and vagina dentata of Mark Gastineau; King of the Park, on the rise and fall of the street comic Charlie Barnett. In these tales of unknowns, household names, and has-beens Solotaroff shows us what it is like to be trapped in the harsh spotlight of American popular culture, revealing in unflinching detail the hysteria and pathos of our national delusions.

Book Hacking Leadership

Download or read book Hacking Leadership written by Mike Myatt and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-12-16 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hacking Leadership is Mike Myatt's latest leadership book written for leaders at every level. Leadership isn't broken, but how it's currently being practiced certainly is. Everyone has blind spots. The purpose of Hacking Leadership is to equip leaders at every level with an actionable framework to identify blind spots and close leadership gaps. The bulk of the book is based on actionable, topical leadership and management hacks to bridge eleven gaps every business needs to cross in order to create a culture of leadership: leadership, purpose, future, mediocrity, culture, talent, knowledge, innovation, expectation, complexity, and failure. Each chapter: Gives readers specific techniques to identify, understand, and most importantly, implement individual, team and organizational leadership hacks. Addresses blind spots and leverage points most leaders and managers haven’t thought about, which left unaddressed, will adversely impact growth, development, and performance. All leaders have blind-spots (gaps), which often go undetected for years or decades, and sadly, even when identified the methods for dealing with them are outdated and ineffective – they need to be hacked. Showcases case studies from the author’s consulting practice, serving as a confidant with more than 150 public company CEOs. Some of those corporate clients include: AT&T, Bank of America, Deloitte, EMC, Humana, IBM, JP Morgan Chase, Merrill Lynch, PepsiCo, and other leading global brands. Hacking Leadership offers a fresh perspective that makes it easy for leaders to create a roadmap to identify, refine, develop, and achieve their leadership potential--and to create a more effective business that is financially solvent and professionally desirable.
