Book WHY DO YOU NOT BELIEVE

    Book Details:
  • Author : Andrew Murray
  • Publisher : Christian Publishing House
  • Release : 2020-01-18
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 139 pages

Download or read book WHY DO YOU NOT BELIEVE written by Andrew Murray and published by Christian Publishing House. This book was released on 2020-01-18 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The only way in which anyone can become a genuine disciple of Jesus Christ is to exercise a divinely-given faith in the once crucified but now glorified Son of God, a faith that quickens the soul, fills it with the mind of Christ, and so unites them to Jesus forever. Murray & Andrews well know that the means for arriving at faith is the Word of God. It is the question often asked by the Master, Jesus Christ, which brings us to the title of the book, “If I speak the truth, why do you not believe?” (John 8:46). Assured like the apostle Paul, as taught by the Lord, that the only mode for receiving forgiveness of sins and inheritance among them that are sanctified, is “faith” in Christ (Acts 26:18). Therefore, Murray & Andrews concentrate their writings on the anxious soul onto the Savior, on the one hand, and the necessity and power of faith in his own heart, on the other. By this means, they expect that under the working of the Spirit through the Word of God, the reader will be led to more fully live their life in faith, ‘the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved you and gave Himself up for you.” (Gal. 2:20) This little book will play a valuable part in our modern Christian faith, no doubt, with its lessons helping Christians to grow spiritually. This book will awaken the need for a vital bond between Christ and the readers, leading them to a stronger faith, which is so richly needed today.

Book THE POWERFUL WEAPON OF PRAYER

Download or read book THE POWERFUL WEAPON OF PRAYER written by Edward D. Andrews and published by Christian Publishing House. This book was released on 2017-02-17 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a world fraught with difficulties and spiritual battles, "THE POWERFUL WEAPON OF PRAYER: A Healthy Prayer Life" serves as an essential guide for every Christian seeking a fulfilling and effective prayer life. This in-depth exploration does more than just scratch the surface—it provides comprehensive insights into the doctrine, theology, and practice of prayer as outlined in Scripture. Section 1 starts by establishing the sheer Importance of Prayer, touching upon the sobriety and mindfulness we must maintain in our communication with God. From learning the Lord's Prayer to understanding how Jehovah provides for our daily needs, this section lays the foundation for a lifetime of meaningful dialogue with the Father. Moving on, Section 2 aims at Improving Our Prayers. When should we pray, and how can we enhance the quality of our prayers? This segment goes further to tackle a sensitive issue—why some prayers may not receive the answer we hope for, emphasizing the role of God's Will in answering prayers. Section 3 is dedicated to identifying Prayers that the Father Listens To and Answers According to His Will and Purposes. Here, you'll find enriching discussions about the significance of humility and contrition, and why living a righteous life is vital for an efficacious prayer life. This section also confronts the challenging topic of why not all prayer requests are granted. The final part of the book, Section 4, provides Biblical Answers to Difficult Subjects that are often stumbling blocks for many, such as dealing with doubt and confronting spiritual warfare. The book is capped off with several appendices that delve into complex issues—how to reconcile faith with the world's harsh realities, understanding God's requirements, and identifying markers of true Christianity, among others. Whether you're a spiritual novice or a seasoned believer, "THE POWERFUL WEAPON OF PRAYER: A Healthy Prayer Life" offers a comprehensive look into the subject, affirming that prayer isn't just a ritual but a powerful weapon granted to us by God for a victorious Christian life.

Book NEW TESTAMENT CONTEXTUAL COMMENTARY

Download or read book NEW TESTAMENT CONTEXTUAL COMMENTARY written by Dr. Robert R. Seyda and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2024-10-25 with total page 881 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Now the beloved Apostle states clearly that if we love God, we will obey His commands. And those commands are not difficult for us to obey. After all, He came to be the Savior of the world. So, three things show us clearly that Jesus came from God. Those things are the Holy Spirit, the water of Jesus’ baptism, and the blood of His death on the cross. Therefore, everyone who believes in Jesus, the Son of God, will know that what God says is true. But anyone who does not believe in God is saying that God tells lies. They just do not believe the message that God told us clearly about His Son. You don’t want to be one of those people. Truly, we can trust God to help us when we turn to Him. We know that He will hear us. When we ask for anything that He wants us to have, He listens to us. This is especially true when we see another Christian doing something bad, this is what we should do. If it is a sin that does not cause death, pray that God will help him. Then God will help that person to live forever with Him. We should settle it in our minds that nobody who has become a child of God continues to do wrong things. Instead, the Son of God keeps them safe so that Satan cannot do anything to keep them from going to heaven. So I beg you, says John, do not put anything in this world or of this world before God.

  • Author : Thomas J. Parker
  • Publisher : James Clarke & Company

Download or read book Jesus and Scripture written by Thomas J. Parker and published by James Clarke & Company. This book was released on 2024-02-29 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the New Testament writers, the Old Testament scriptures and the teachings of Jesus were key sources of authority and influence. When these influences are considered alongside each other, each can illuminate the other, deepening the New Testament writers' presentation of Jesus and our understanding of their interpretations. In Jesus and Scripture, Tom Parker examines the way in which Hebrews, James, and 1 and 2 Peter deal with these two different sources of authority, how they relate to each other, and what shifts have occurred historically and theologically within the writing of these texts. Treating the four epistles methodologically, Parker examines the particular ways in which each writer draws on the Hebrew scriptures. Ultimately, he argues convincingly that the nascent Jesus tradition, particularly via oral routes, influenced the way the Old Testament was processed by these various New Testament writers.
