Book The Gospel of Jesus Christ Whosoever Will Come After Me

Download or read book The Gospel of Jesus Christ Whosoever Will Come After Me written by Russell M. Stendal and published by Ransom Press International. This book was released on 2024-09-19 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The gospel of Mark speaks of the Son of God who will soon return and manifest an incorruptible kingdom that differs greatly from the kingdoms of men. When Jesus said that his kingdom is not of this world, some were very disillusioned. They did not understand that Jesus came to announce a very different kingdom, which he started by planting an incorruptible word (for he is the living Word of God). Over the long history of the church, many have made and are still making tragic mistakes as they attempt to take over the corrupt kingdoms of this world in the name of God. Jesus was ordained by God and approved by God. He had no human credentials, no certificates from Herod or the Sanhedrin or the high priest, and he gave no written diplomas to his apostles. At the Last Supper, Jesus said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receives whomsoever I send receives me, and he that receives me receives him that sent me (John 13:20).

Download or read book Kill the Noise written by Ryan Ries and published by FaithWords. This book was released on 2021-05-11 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It doesn't matter who you are or what you've done—God wants a relationship with you. Social media, television, video games, drugs, pornography – there is so much noise distracting us from what is important in life that it is nearly impossible to hear God’s truth that He will take you as you are. When we finally kill the noise of the world, we’ll discover in the silence a loving Savior who is waiting to forgive us and offer us a purpose for our lives. Ryan Ries is living proof of this truth. Growing up in Los Angeles as the son of a mega-church pastor but surrounded by the music, skate, and snowboard industries, Ryan felt a tug-of-war between the church and the world. It was in the skate and music culture that he found his passion and his identity. As a result, he walked away from God and dove head first into the world, losing his way in alcohol, drugs, and sex, which led to anxiety, brokenness, and emptiness. Kill the Noise tells Ryan’s story about finding God in the messiness of life, and lets you know how you too can find peace, joy, and purpose in Jesus Christ. This book will be a tool to help you kill the noise of the world so you can hear God’s voice telling you that He loves you and that you belong to Him.

Book The Sacred Writings of Ephraim the Syrian Annotated Edition

This book was released on 2012 with total page 489 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Sacred Writings Of ..." provides you with the essential works among the Early Christian writings. The volumes cover the beginning of Christianity until before the promulgation of the Nicene Creed at the First Council of Nicaea. This volume is accurately annotated, including * an extensive biography of the author and his life Ephraim the Syrian was a Syriac and a prolific Syriac-language hymnographer and theologian of the 4th century. His works are hailed by Christians throughout the world and many denominations venerate him as a saint. He has been declared a Doctor of the Church in Roman Catholicism. He is especially beloved in the Syriac Orthodox Church. Ephrem wrote a wide variety of hymns, poems, and sermons in verse, as well as prose biblical exegesis. These were works of practical theology for the edification of the church in troubled times. So popular were his works, that, for centuries after his death, Christian authors wrote hundreds of pseudepigraphal works in his name. Ephrem's works witness to an early form of Christianity in which western ideas take little part. He has been called the most significant of all of the fathers of the Syriac-speaking church tradition. The Pearl—Seven Hymns on the Faith Three Homilies Select Demonstrations .

Book Select Demonstrations

Book excerpt: Faith is compounded of many things, and by many kinds is it brought to perfection. For it is like a building that is built up of many pieces of workmanship and so its edifice rises to the top. And know, my beloved, that in the foundations of the building stones are laid, and so resting upon stones the whole edifice rises until it is perfected. Thus also the true Stone, our Lord Jesus Christ, is the foundation of all our faith. And on Him, on [this] Stone faith is based. And resting on faith all the structure rises until it is completed. For it is the foundation that is the beginning of all the building. For when any one is brought nigh unto faith, it is laid for him upon the Stone, that is our Lord Jesus Christ. And his building cannot be shaken by the waves, nor can it be injured by the winds. By the stormy blasts it does not fall, because its structure is reared upon the rock of the true Stone. And in this that I have called Christ the Stone, I have not spoken of my own thought, but the Prophets beforehand called Him the Stone. And this I shall make clear to thee.

Book A Treasury of Virtues

Download or read book A Treasury of Virtues written by al-Qāḍī al-Quḍāʿī and published by NYU Press. This book was released on 2016-10-04 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Treasury of Virtues is a collection of sayings, sermons, and teachings attributed to 'Ali ibn Abi Talib (d. 40/661), the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad, the first Shia Imam and the fourth Sunni Caliph An acknowledged master of Arabic eloquence and a sage of Islamic wisdom, 'Ali was renowned for his eloquence: his words were collected, quoted, and studied over the centuries, and extensively anthologized, excerpted, and interpreted. Of the many compilations of 'Ali’s words, A Treasury of Virtues, compiled by the Fatimid Shafi'i judge al-Quda'i (d. 454/1062), arguably possesses the broadest compass of genres and the largest variety of themes. Included are aphorisms, proverbs, sermons, speeches, homilies, prayers, letters, dialogues, and verse, all of which provide instruction on how to be a morally upstanding human being. The shorter compilation included here, One Hundred Proverbs, is attributed to the eminent writer al-Jahiz (d. 255/869). This volume presents the first English translation of both of these important collections. An English-only edition.
