Some believe that we will never have to settle the debt. This is also wrong and the check is coming do. It is time to end dine and dash public finance.Managing this analysis is a long-term project because the debt is growing at a rate that is out of control. As I write this, the Federal Reserve is about to release the 2019 Survey of Consumer Finance, which may or may not change the analysis who owns what debt, as will another accounting of the size of the debt. In a year, the 2018 IRS Data Book will show the results of the TCJA on who owes what. Taxes on the top 4% went down. Who will pick up the slack?
