Book Tale of Two Families John Brown and Abbe Lavina Colaw

Download or read book Tale of Two Families John Brown and Abbe Lavina Colaw written by Diana J Muir and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019 with total page 640 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "One might think that a common name such as Brown would lead to an ordinary family. That is not the case for this family. Descended from John Brown and his family, who traveled on board the Mayflower, they descended from the Kings and Queens of Europe and can be traced back to the Merovingian Kings of France and the Sea Kings of Norway. Among the most notable ancestors are John Brown of the Mayflower, Robert Dudley (a favorite of Queen Elizabeth), the Lords of Kerr in Selkirk, Scotland, the Dukes of Northumberland, and the Douglas family. The Colaw/Coler/Kohler family shares the same German ancestors as President Roosevelt and includes the Comte Jean de Graf in Picardy, France."--

Book Ancestors of Timothy W Hogan Vol 2 Family Groups

Download or read book Ancestors of Timothy W Hogan Vol 2 Family Groups written by Diana J Muir and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2019-07-16 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ancestors of Timothy Hogan can be traced from Greene County, Tennessee before the Civil War to Haddon Hall in Derbyshire, England where his ancestors were Lords and Ladies of ancient England and Wales. Many lines go back to the ancient leaders of Wales including Rhys aps Griffith and to the Merovingian Kings and Queens of Normandy, France. Timothy's Swedish line, which came to Iowa in the USA, came directly from Sweden where they can be traced back to the sea kings of Uppsala, Sweden in about 500 AD. Continuing back some of his European ancestors, they can be traced to Seleucus Nicator in ancient Syria, the father of Helen of Troy. It is easy to imagine that some of the members of the Hogan Family retained the ambition and traits of their ancient ancestors. Many of his forefathers in Colonial America were Freemasons and instrumental in forming the burgeoning American Nation. Book Fostering Human Development Through Engineering and Technology Education

Download or read book Fostering Human Development Through Engineering and Technology Education written by Moshe Barak and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-01-01 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fostering Human Development Through Engineering and Technology Education (ETE) is a collaborative work offered to students, scholars, researchers, decision-makers, curriculum developers, and educators interested in the rich learning opportunities afforded by engineering and technology education. This book provides perspective about the roles ETE might uniquely play in applying contemporary pedagogical practices to enhance students' intellectual, cognitive, and social skills in the service of promoting equitable and sustainable human development. Education about engineering and technology has become an imperative for all people due to the exponential rate of technological change, the impact of globalization on culture and economy, and the essential contributions engineering and technology make in addressing global and environmental challenges. Many of today’s students wish to use their education to influence the future, and school-based engineering and technology education programs meet the needs of these “millennial students” who are civic-minded, team-oriented, and want to make a difference. Therefore, support has been rapidly increasing for the establishment of school-based engineering and technology education (ETE) programs in many countries across the globe. Chapters in this book provide discussion about dimensions of learning; capabilities, concepts and skills for third millennial learners; culturally relevant learning through ETE; and the promise of new pedagogies such as gaming and other project-based learning approaches in our digitally connected world. The author team includes renowned educational theorists, cognitive scientists, scientists and engineers, instructional designers, expert practitioners, and researchers who have coalesced best practice and contemporary thought from seven countries.
