Book Where The Temple Was Not Located

Download or read book Where The Temple Was Not Located written by Bobby L. Sparks and published by Baptist Training Center. This book was released on 2022-05-14 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Biblical, historical, and archaeological evidence corroborate the location of the Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount. Many spurious theories placing the Temple in other locations have been circulated. In recent years, the idea that the Temple was located in the old City of David and not on Temple Mount has gained popularity, especially in America. This book presents a thorough examination of the evidence in a systematic fashion to conclusively refute this erroneous theory and firmly place the location of the Temple on the Temple Mount. This booklet was written to debunk the increasingly popular theory that they did not build the Temples on the traditional Temple mount site but in the old City of David. The theorists maintain that all the scholarship, all the archaeologists, all the historians, and all the Jews have been wrong in placing the Temple on the traditional mount. The original proponent of the theory was Ernest L. Martin who wrote the Temples that Jerusalem forgot. Many books, videos, and articles have been written, all basing their research on Ernest Martin's book. This book refutes their theories. This book has received glowing endorsements from eminent scholars and archaeologists such as Scott Stripling, Randall Price, David Graves, and Leen Ritmeyer. The work contains many full color charts, maps, and illustrations.

Book Hebrews and the Temple

Download or read book Hebrews and the Temple written by Philip Church and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2017-03-13 with total page 633 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Hebrews and the Temple Philip Church argues that the silence of Hebrews concerning the temple does not mean that the author is not interested in the temple. He writes to encourage his readers to abandon their preoccupation with it and to follow Jesus to their eschatological goal. Following extensive discussions of attitudes to the temple in the literature of Second Temple Judaism, Church turns to Hebrews and argues that the temple is presented there as a symbolic foreshadowing of the eschatological dwelling of God with his people. Now that the eschatological moment has arrived with the exaltation of Christ to the right hand of God, preoccupation with the temple and its rituals must cease.

Book excerpt: In a book that is being heralded as "an investigative masterpiece" with "astounding archaeological and prophetic implications," TEMPLE: Amazing New Discoveries That Change Everything About the Location of Solomon's Temple, by Robert Cornuke, is sending shockwaves through the Jewish, Muslim, and Christian worlds. Can you imagine the upheaval in political and religious thinking if the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is not the site of Solomon's and Herod's temples? And what if the stones of the Wailing Wall are not what tradition says? In this highly-researched, exciting book, the author proposes from current archaeological excavations and Scriptural corroboration that the true temple location is not where tradition teaches. This is must reading for anyone who wants to fit together the pieces of biblical records, current geo-politics, and prophecy. Says the author, "Let the adventure begin as we now take the Bible in one hand and a shovel in the other and dig up some long-lost buried bones of biblical history. Along the way we will walk unknown passageways, known only to the prophets of old, as we search for the true location of the lost temples of Solomon and Herod. We will also lift a candle into the dim recesses of history and uncover secrets about the Ark of the Covenant and the gold Mercy Seat's prophetic obligation as it relates to the future Millennial temple."

Book Jerusalem s Temple Mount

Download or read book Jerusalem s Temple Mount written by Hershel Shanks and published by Continuum. This book was released on 2007-10-14 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to the Hebrew Bible, King Solomon built a Temple to the Lord in Jerusalem on a threshing floor that his father, King David, purchased from Araunah the Jebusite for 50 shekels of silver. "No other building of the ancient world," claims the Anchor Bible Dictionary, "either while it stood in Jerusalem or in the millennia since its final destruction has been the focus of so much attention throughout the ages." This stunning book, with its 160 illustrations, is a history of the Temple or Temples in Jerusalem from Solomon's time to the present. The book reads like an archaeological excavation, digging deeper and deeper at one site. Starting with a discussion of the Palestinian denial of a Jewish Temple, the book proceeds to explore the Islamic Dome of the Rock, the little-known Roman Temple of Jupiter, Herod's massive Temple Mount, the Temple built by the exiles returning from Babylon, and finally Solomon's Temple. With a lively and informative text to accompany the pictures, Jerusalem's Temple Mount is replete with archaeology, history, legends (Jewish, Christian, and Muslim), inscriptions, biblical interpretations, and forgeries.

Book King Herod A Persecuted Persecutor

Download or read book King Herod A Persecuted Persecutor written by Aryeh Kasher and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2008-09-25 with total page 536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The enigma of King Herod as a cruel bloodthirsty tyrant on the one hand, and a great builder on the other is discussed in a systematic modern historical and psychological study. It seeks to unravel the contradictory historic mystery of the man and his deeds. After A. Schalit's König Herodes, this study is a new comprehensive, pioneering study on the intriguing personality of Herod, also using the insights of psychology. Herod's mental state reached an acute level, consistent with the DSM-IV diagnosis for "Paranoid Personality Disorder". He grew up with an ambiguous identity and suffered from feelings of inferiority. Haunted by persecutory delusions, he executed almost any suspect of treason, including his wife and three sons. The Hebrew original text was Winner of the Ya'acov Bahat Prize for Non-Fiction Hebrew Literature for 2006.

Book excerpt: This collaborative commentary on, or dictionary of, Kings, explores cross-cutting aspects of Kings ranging from the analysis of its composition, historically regarded, to its transmission and reception. Ample attention is accorded sources, figures and peoples who play a part in the book. The commentary deals with Kings treatment in translation and role in later ancient literature. While our comments do not proceed verse by verse, the volume furnishes guidance, from contributors highly qualified to advance contemporary discussion, on the book's historical background, its literary intentions and characteristics, and on themes and motifs central to its understanding, both of itself and of the world from which it arose. This volume functions as a meta-commentary, offering windows into the secondary literature, but assembling data more fully than is the case in individual commentaries.
