Download or read book Translating tolerogenic therapies to the clinic where do we stand and what are the barriers written by Stephen P. Cobbold and published by Frontiers E-books. This book was released on with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Research Topic is a call for papers to provide an up to date assessment of current attempts to introduce tolerogenic therapies into clinical practice. Tolerance has been a highly sought after goal in the field of organ transplantation for over half a century, and is now readily achievable in rodent models, but considerable barriers remain to successfully translating tolerogenic treatments to the clinic. The initial call for this Research Topic has been aimed to provide an overview of recent advances made within the European RISET and American ITN networks with regard to tolerogenic strategies in clinical transplantation, autoimmune disease, and allergy. Articles will also cover the barriers to clinical tolerance induction and new emerging approaches to overcome such barriers. 1. Collaborative networks working towards the goal of therapeutic tolerance induction 2. Prope tolerance and minimization of immunosuppression 3. Lessons from operationally tolerant patients 4. Targeted withdrawal of immunosuppression 5. Stem cells and hematopoietic chimerism as a route to tolerance 6. Promoting regulatory T cells 7. Tolerogenic dendritic cells and negative vaccination 8. Inhibitory pathways and mechanisms in tolerance 9. Memory T cells and heterologous immunity 10. The innate response to allotransplants 11. Chronic graft loss--what are the missing links? 12. The impact of graft microenvironment on tolerance
Download or read book Social Hormones and Human Behavior What Do We Know and Where Do We Go from Here written by Idan Shalev and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2015-02-11 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Oxytocin (OT) and arginine vasopressin (AVP) are the paramount social hormones in mammals and accumulating evidence also strengthens the unique role of these neuropeptides also in human social behavior. Indeed from voles to humans, OT and AVP modulate an intriguing number of social behaviors resonating across species such as the quality of pair bonding, parenting, modulations of social stress, in-group & out-group relationships and social communications. Recent molecular genetic studies of the oxytocin (OXTR), arginine vasopressin 1a (AVPR1a) and arginine vasopressin 1b (AVPR1b) receptors have strengthened the role of these two neuropeptides in a range of normal and pathological human behaviors. Importantly, dysfunctions in the OT and AVP neural pathways are likely contributing to deficits in social skills and communication in disorders such as autism. This Research Topic covers the state of the science and provides a deep view of social hormone research in humans to illustrates how pharmacological, genetic and neuroimaging strategies can be successfully combined toward unraveling the mystery of how human social behavior is regulated. Understanding human social behavior at the molecular level, i.e. social neuroscience, is not only crucial for treatment and diagnosis of disorders characterized by deficits in social cognition but also has important implications in establishing the congruence of findings from different approaches in the Social Sciences and Biology. We bring together in this issue a broad spectrum of investigators from the neurosciences, genetics, psychology, economics and political science towards a deeper understanding of the biological roots of human social behavior. We hope that this transdisciplinary Research Topic will bring new insights and ideas to the field, give future perspectives while also addressing open questions and limitation in order to develop intervention and prevention strategies, and to translate the basic social hormone research into clinical applications. This book was released on 2024-05-16 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There has been a growing amount of research detailing the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in cutaneous diseases. Nonetheless, we still do not have a regulatory agency approved app or computer system being used by dermatologists (or other physicians that could be confronted with challenging skin lesions) in daily practice. Why is this? Where do we stand now? What is next in this field? It is time to deeply explore this theme.
Download or read book Who Is Satan Where Did He Come From and What Is His Purpose written by Minister Anthony and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2012-01-19 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By reading this book, you will find out that Satan is a deceiving spirit who hates God and the children of God. Satan's objective is to lead you to unbelief and sin against God. Consider this: Satan is out to mar the human race. He deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil even when God informed her not to eat of it. Satan stood up against Israel and provoked King David to number Israel. Joshua was standing before the angel of the Lord and Satan was standing on the right hand to resist him. Satan entered Judas for him to betray the Lord Jesus. Satan wants nothing to do with righteousness, and this is transparent. Satan wants us to go against God and betray one another. He does not want the lost to be saved. Satan will enable you to become remiss of every word of God, making them untrue and unnecessary. God wants to bless us in our everyday life, but Satan will block these blessings. Satan is after our children, uncles, aunts, grandparents, parents, and you. We must continue to wear the whole armor of God to defeat him. For without the whole armor of God, Satan will be victorious. Scrutinize Satan.
