Book excerpt: About the Book When Satan Smiles sheds a fictional light on the historic events that took place in Ireland during the early 1900's, and how those events impacted members of five families. Follow these families as their lives are constantly impacted by those historical events. Family members are faced with many choices in their lives; for some, the choices are beneficial, but for others, they are all too ruinous. Love, truth, honesty, and friendship will always prevail. About the Author John Samsson immigrated to the United States in 1961 from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He lived through the terrible bombing of his native city during WWII, having been born just months before the outbreak of that horrific war. After an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1965, he attended New York University (G I Bill) attaining a New York City Teaching License in 1969. He spent the bulk of his teaching career in the South Bronx where he experienced - among other things - a deja vu sensation witnessing the destruction there to the destruction in Belfast during the war. Samsson retired in 1994 and splits his time living in New York and Florida.

For centuries, Satan's archenemy has been held captive by Satan in the mystical circles of Stonehenge. Known by many names and disguised in many forms, the time of freedom for Satan's enemy has come and if he wins in the ultimate cosmic battle he will be Lord not only of Hell but of all Earth. There are only two people who can unfold his plan, Otello Banetti, a professor and scientist obsessed by the occult, and his friend Doctor Bible, an expert in the scriptures. Devastating earthquakes and tsunamis are the only signs of the clashes between the two evil forces until Satan's enemy arrives in front of mankind disguised as the new Messiah ready to lead us straight to Hell. Born in Prato, Italy, Massimo Franceschini is the author of eleven screenplays and numerous books. Stonehenge is the fourth in the series of adventures of Otello Banetti. The complete saga is nine books: Bible Code, Genetic code, Eden, Golden Papyrus, Premonitions, Banetti Unveiled, and The Church. Each story stands by itself but there are clues connecting all of them and in the final episode everything is explained and clarified. You'll know the back story of the hero, his purpose in life, and his final destiny. Massimo now lives in Florence, Arizona with his wife Teresa. He has six children and nine grandchildren. Book Triumphant Warriors in a Turbulent World

Download or read book Triumphant Warriors in a Turbulent World written by Danny Callahan and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2008-11 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bible clearly tells us that the end of time is near. The devil is constantly assaulting God's people with devastating forms of spiritual warfare. This war is being waged world wide. The battlefield is in the heart of every believer and the souls of mankind are the prize. We, as Christians, must not fear and give up. God is on our side and we will win. We are instructed to put on the whole armor of God. But what are our weapons? How do we learn to use them? How do we fight an unseen enemy? What does God expect of us? Can we really be victorious? The purpose of this book is to show how God's Word answers these questions. It is my desire that you fully comprehend what God has given to me, so - "I've tried to write it, so that you can understand it." In 1970, while a senior at the University of Georgia, Danny Callahan, received his calling into the ministry. God's words were crystal clear that day, as He shared His will for Danny's life. Then the Lord ended His instructions with these words, "I want you to say it so that they can understand." After graduation Danny entered the job market and pursued his own dreams. But "the calling" haunted him day and night. After struggling for two years, he surrendered his will to God, and his life has never been the same. He started his first youth group in 1973 and served as a youth minister for the next twenty years. In August of 1993 he accepted the pastorate of Kettle Creek Church, in Waycross, Georgia. He has faithfully ministered there for the past fifteen years and continues to humbly serve as their Shepherd.

Book Enigmas of Sacrifice

  • Author : W. J. Mc Cormack
  • Publisher : MSU Press
  • Release : 2016-03-01

  • Pages : 344 pages

Download or read book Enigmas of Sacrifice written by W. J. Mc Cormack and published by MSU Press. This book was released on 2016-03-01 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Enigmas of Sacrifice: A Critique of Joseph M. Plunkett and the Dublin Insurrection of 1916 is the first critical study of the religious poet and militarist Joseph M. Plunkett, who was executed with the other leaders of the Dublin insurrection of 1916. Through Plunkett the author gains access to areas of nationalist thought that were more often assumed or repressed than publicly formulated. In this eye-opening book, W. J. Mc Cormack explores and analyzes Plunkett’s brief life, work, and influence, beginning with his wealthy but dysfunctional family, irregular Jesuit education, and self-canceling sexuality. Mc Cormack continues through Plunkett’s active phase when amateur theatricals and a magazine editorship brought him into the emergent neonationalist discourse of early twentieth-century Ireland. Finally, the author arrives at Holy Week 1916, when Plunkett masterminded the forgery of official documentation in order to provoke and justify the insurrection he planned. Mc Cormack analyzes Plunkett’s significant texts and provides context through critical perspectives on his milieu. Enigmas of Sacrifice is unique in its effort to understand a major figure of Irish nationalism in terms that reach beyond political identity.
