In 1951, at the tender age of 4, Joseph Aron and his parents arrived in New York and settled in Boro Park. Josephs parents, Holocaust survivors, worked tirelessly to give him a fi ne Jewish education and a love of family. As a young boy he was privileged to sing with Cantor Moshe Kusevitskys Choir at Temple Beth- El. Josephs love for Jewish music and abilities as a Cantor enabled him to be the High Holy Days Cantor for some years at the Baldwin Jewish Center. His work as an airline consultant took him to over 100 countries where he helped modernize their airline industries. Josephs interest in the native culture endeared him to many people. Until the last moment of his life, Joseph never forgot the tragedy the Holocaust brought upon his own family and Jewish people and worked tirelessly to ensure that their memory will never be forgotten. While bravely fi ghting his devastating illness, he managed to complete this poem book just before he passed way in July 2010 at the young age of 63.

Book excerpt: IndieReader Discovery Award Winner for Best Historical Fiction IAN Book of the Year Awards Finalist for Outstanding Historical Fiction Meira Sokolow had the misfortune of being born to Jewish parents in Warsaw, Poland, in 1912. Before she took her first breath, her fate had been sealed. Residing in the Jewish Quarter of the city, Meira’s early life was typical. She fell in love with a local boy, got married, and had a daughter. Then the German army marched into Warsaw and everything changed. Forced into the ghetto with her family, she found survival to be a daily struggle. Hunger, disease, and unimaginable cruelty were her stark realities. When the ghetto was purged and she was sent to a concentration camp, Meira still had her family, and that was all that mattered. Then the camp was liquidated, and only a handful of survivors remained out of thousands. Meira Sokolow was one of them. No longer a wife or mother, Meira emigrated to New York City. After World War II, the world wanted to move on and start a new chapter, but Meira couldn’t turn the page so easily. She walked through her days alone, like a ghost with nothing to tether her to the earth. Then she met Max, a handsome American, who first mistook her for one of the boring socialites he encountered every day. He soon learned she was unlike anyone he had met before, seeing her strength and resilience, even when she couldn’t. Max knew he could breathe life into her again, if only she would let him. Where Butterflies Go is based on the harrowing true story of one woman’s survival during the Nazi occupation of Poland, and her struggle to find meaning in the aftermath.

Book excerpt: Born as bombs and mortar tore through her native country and raised with the quiet example of strength and honor from her parents, this 13 year old girl became the designated head of her family at the death of her beloved father. Driven to succeed and seeing America as her path to the success her father wanted for her, she emigrated from Korea to the United States in her late teens. As she finds ways to blend her Korean values of family and responsibility with American customs and values, her belief in herself never waivers. In Korea successful people are business owners so she too must become a business owner in her new country. Becoming a successful business owner in a small mid-western town is not easy; expanding that business to become the store of choice for high-end builders and buyers in a nearby city across state lines is even more impressive. As you read her story you'll find a fascinating mix of family loyalties and responsibilities, absolute respect for hard work, and the strength of character to set the example for the next generation in her family. Book Only God Can Make a Butterfly

Download or read book Only God Can Make a Butterfly written by M. D. David J. Delnostro and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2011 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God's ultimate plan for His people is one of transformation. All of us are born in God's image, but His ultimate desire is for us to be transformed into His likeness. For this metamorphosis to occur, we must stop competing with God to be the master of our lives. Just as a butterfly changes from a larval caterpillar, all human beings are to be transformed into their mature form, a person possessing the nature and character of Jesus. Butterfly people see the world from God's perspective and experience more joy and peace in life. Caterpillars are left behind to see the world from man's perspective and suffer from immature, pathological thinking, dysfunctional relationships, and self-serving religions and governments. God designed our world for Christ-centered butterflies that can live in the light of His wisdom and truth, not caterpillars that stumble through life and remain lost in the darkness of their self-centered world. In Only God Can Make A Butterfly, David Delnostro, M.D. walks you through the psychological, interpersonal, political and medical advantages of soaring through life as a butterfly and the pathological consequences of crawling through life as a caterpillar. David J. Delnostro, M.D. is a graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine. He began his medical career in 1980 in Savannah, Georgia as an emergency room physician at Candler Hospital. For the past twenty-six years, he has practiced family medicine and currently is a member of Southcoast Medical Group in Savannah. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the oldest of six children. Although he was raised by a Catholic father and a Jewish mother, he never practiced either religion. At age forty, he began his life-changing relationship with Jesus. Currently, he serves as a deacon and Divorce Recovery leader at Savannah Christian Church.
