Book What All True Christians Believe

Download or read book What All True Christians Believe written by R.S. Trifulescu and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-10-20 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The ultimate goal of this work is to advance Christian unity. Christians are free to disagree with other believers about certain matters of faith and practice that ought not to break up their unity or fellowship. But they will stand together on certain key doctrines and beliefs that are nonnegotiable. This book highlights those core Christian teachings that demand assent in order for someone to be called a true follower of Christ. A considerable amount of space is also devoted to the aspects of these central tenets that might include some flexibility of understanding without compromising the integrity of scriptural truth and the Christian tradition. 114

Book Characteristics of True Christianity

Download or read book Characteristics of True Christianity written by Steven & E. Sue Maugh and published by Author House. This book was released on 2013-10 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever asked yourself the question,"That doesn't seem very Christian like, does it?" When has this occurred? Was it at church or on a Christian TV show? How about a friend or neighbor that you know personally, and they claim to be a Christian. Are there any rules for us as regular everyday humans to know or discern whether or not someone is who they say they are? The answer is an unequivocal yes! God has plainly said in His word that only He has the right to judge some ones salvation. After all that is what Christianity is really all about, who is a follower of Jesus Christ! You see God is the only one that has the ability to see inside of a man or woman to their very core, their heart. Only He can know the thoughts and intents of the heart according to the book of Hebrews. He has however told us that every man, woman or child will exhibit fruit. This fruit will show itself in the form of our character. Then God said that we would know them by their fruit. In other words, we are to be fruit inspectors. To be a God ordained fruit inspector, you must first know what the fruit is and what a good fruit is supposed to look like. This takes training by someone who is an accomplished inspector and a desire on your part to become a good inspector. As the government hires and trains people to inspect our meat, vegetables and fruit, for our health, so God takes you and I, trains us to be fruit inspectors for our spiritual health.

Book Am I Really a Christian Foreword by Kirk Cameron

Download or read book Am I Really a Christian Foreword by Kirk Cameron written by Mike McKinley and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2011-06-07 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus divided the world into two groups—those who follow him and those who don't. But what happens when someone thinks he or she is a Christian, but isn't? With his witty, engaging style, Mike McKinley takes readers on a journey of what it means to be a Christian. He asserts that "manipulative evangelism techniques and a poor understanding of the gospel have resulted in an abundance of professing Christians who have no idea what it means to follow Christ." Each chapter title begins with "You're not a Christian [if/when/just because you]..." As he surveys what it means to be Christian, McKinley offers criteria for evaluating one's standing before God. Readers are guided through a series of challenges to reflect, repent, remember, and report to another person. Am I Really a Christian? ends with chapters on salvation and the local church. This unique book is written for nominal or new Christians and can be used in personal or small-group study.

Book excerpt: Society says youth is a time for carefree self-expression, but Trip Lee says God has called everyone to RISE from slumber, above low expectations, and to live for the risen King. The world tells us that our early years are to be irresponsibly enjoyed rather than devoted to meaningful pursuits. We’re told that responsibility and commitment are burdens to be put off as long as possible. And so, most of us spend our youth in a sad state of slumber—sleeping in on life until we’re forced to get up. The problem is that life has already begun. It’s happening right now. And God has called you to live it. In this powerful book, Trip Lee argues it’s time to wake up and RISE, to live the way we were created to live. Young or old, we’ve been called to live for Him. Right now. Young believers face the same problems as older Christians, but they feel them in unique ways. RISE addresses those core problems in an engaging, profound, and life-changing way. Don't just sit there: RISE!

Book excerpt: Since the days of the early church, Christians have struggled to understand the relationship between two seemingly contradictory concepts in the Bible: law and gospel. If, as the apostle Paul says, the law cannot save, what can it do? Is it merely an ancient relic from Old Testament Israel to be discarded? Or is it still valuable for Christians today? Helping modern Christians think through this complex issue, seasoned pastor and theologian Sinclair Ferguson carefully leads readers to rediscover an eighteenth-century debate that sheds light on this present-day doctrinal conundrum: the Marrow Controversy. After sketching the history of the debate, Ferguson moves on to discuss the theology itself, acting as a wise guide for walking the path between legalism (overemphasis on the law) on the one side and antinomianism (wholesale rejection of the law) on the other.
