Download or read book Weapons and Tactics A Handbook on Personal Evangelism written by Jim Wilson and published by Canon Press & Book Service. This book was released on 2012-12-11 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Even if communities understand how to follow the principles of spiritual warfare, the actual winning of souls usually occurs on the personal level. Big-picture evangelistic strategy must be complemented by an understanding of personal evangelism. Weapons and Tactics teaches individual Christians how to apply the evangelistic principles described in Principles of War. Using thorough analysis of Scripture and real-life examples, Jim Wilson provides insight on spiritual weapons (what God has given us to fight with) and tactics (the effective use of those weapons) with simple, powerful language. Weapons and Tactics calls us to personal, life-changing obedience as we follow our captain in the fight.

Book Survival and Resistance in Evangelical America

Download or read book Survival and Resistance in Evangelical America written by Crawford Gribben and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2021-02-23 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the last thirty years, conservative evangelicals have been moving to the Northwest of the United States, where they hope to resist the impact of secular modernity and to survive the breakdown of society that they anticipate. These believers have often given up on the politics of the Christian Right, adopting strategies of hibernation while developing the communities and institutions from which a new America might one day emerge. Their activity coincides with the promotion by prominent survivalist authors of a program of migration to the "American Redoubt," a region encompassing Idaho, Montana, parts of eastern Washington and Oregon, and Wyoming, as a haven in which to endure hostile social change or natural disaster and in which to build a new social order. These migration movements have independent origins, but they overlap in their influences and aspirations, working in tandem to offer a vision of the present in which Christian values must be defended as American society is rebuilt according to biblical law. This book examines the origins, evolution, and cultural reach of this little-noted migration and considers what it might tell us about the future of American evangelicalism. Drawing on Calvinist theology, the social theory of Christian Reconstruction, and libertarian politics, these believers are projecting significant soft power. Their books are promoted by leading mainstream publishers and listed as New York Times bestsellers. Their strategy is gaining momentum, making an impact in local political and economic life, while being repackaged for a wider audience in publications by a broader coalition of conservative commentators and in American mass culture. This survivalist evangelical subculture recognizes that they have lost the culture war - but another kind of conflict is beginning.

Book Personal Evangelism

Download or read book Personal Evangelism written by J C Macaulay and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2013-04-25 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is a fresh approach to personal evangelism by two writers who speak out of their experience in witnessing and in teaching principles of evangelism in the classroom. The approach is biblical; Scriptures are constantly introduced in dealing with various types such as the anxious, the unsatisfied, the fearful, the procrastinator, and the self-righteous. The study of the Word is emphasized as preparation for the soul-winner. Important principles are deduced from the Gospel of John. The work of the Holy Spirit is emphasized because He must prepare the heart of the seeker, guide the speech of the witness, and cause new life to spring up in each individual heart. Practicality and tact are two words which may be said to characterize this text. It is not limited to theory developed in the seclusion of the study; nor does it neglect criticism of such wrong approaches as the "holier than thou" or the "wiser than thou."

Book The Believer s Guide on Personal Evangelism

Download or read book The Believer s Guide on Personal Evangelism written by Dr. John Thomas Wylie and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2019-05-22 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One needs to go to the New Testament, and the Gospels specifically, to truly observe the evangelistic plan of Jesus. After all, they are the main eye-witness accounts that we have of the Savior, Jesus, at work (Luke 1:2–3; John 20:30, 21:24; 1 John 1:1). Certainly, the Gospels were composed fundamentally to indicate to us Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and that by faith we can have life in his name (John 20:31). Be that as it may, what we neglect to acknowledge once in a while is that the revelation of that life in Christ incorporates the manner in which he lived and trained others to live. We should remember that the witnesses who composed the books were not just witnesses to the truth; they were changed by it. The task of The Believer’s Guide On Personal Evangelism is to bring people to faith in Jesus Christ. An individual should unmistakably and coherently present the need for Jesus Christ and the provision God has made to address that issue. While there are numerous approaches, this book puts forward the plain facts and the directness of the straightforwardness (simplicity) of the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Book The Gospel and Personal Evangelism Foreword by C J Mahaney

Download or read book The Gospel and Personal Evangelism Foreword by C J Mahaney written by Mark Dever and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2007-09-07 with total page 130 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Evangelism is not only misunderstood, it is often unpracticed. Many Christians want to share the gospel with others, but because those Christians don't grasp the fundamentals of witnessing, they feel intimidated and incapable of sharing the truth of the gospel. Yet those believers fail to recognize that God has already established who and how we are to evangelize. In The Gospel and Personal Evangelism, Dr. Mark Dever seeks to answer the four basic questions about evangelism that many Christians ask: Who should we evangelize? How should we evangelize? What is evangelism? Why should we evangelize? In his answers Dever draws on New Testament truths and helps believers apply those truths in practical ways. As readers understand the fundamentals of evangelism, they will begin to develop a culture of evangelism in their lives and their local churches.
