Download or read book Warehouse H written by Dominic Guglielmi and published by Boyle & Dalton. This book was released on 2023-08-30 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon isn't just a popular brand of whiskey; its launch in 1984 was historic. As the first single-barrel bourbon, it is bottled one barrel at a time as opposed to first mixing together multiple barrels. It helped define a new "super-premium" category for bourbon, where only the choicest barrels are selected and bottled. One author called the creation of Blanton's "the whiskey equivalent of a Hail Mary pass." Together with other super-premium brands launched in the years following Blanton's debut, they sowed the seeds of a twenty-first century bourbon boom that saved the American whiskey industry from near collapse. Along with its historic rise, Blanton's is now one of the world's most sought-after whiskeys. It has been the most-searched whiskey on the alcohol price-tracking website Wine-Searcher for multiple years. While it maintains legions of loyal fans who deplete liquor store shelves of the product, the hype that enshrouds the brand is often the subject of debate as to the quality of the bourbon itself. Warehouse H: The Story of Blanton's Bourbon, America's Most Influential Whiskey dives deep into the story behind the brand, explores its origins, and documents the unlikely rise and contribution of the first single-barrel bourbon. In addition, it is a catalog of all known Blanton's releases, some exceptionally rare, with insights and anecdotes capturing all things Blanton's, from its birth to the present day.
Download or read book Rules of Encounter written by Jeffrey S. Rosenschein and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 1994 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Provides a unified, coherent account of machine interaction at the level of the machine designers (the society of designers) and the level of the machine interaction itself (the resulting artificial society). Rules of Encounter applies the general approach and the mathematical tools of game theory in a formal analysis of rules (or protocols) governing the high-level behavior of interacting heterogeneous computer systems. It describes a theory of high-level protocol design that can be used to constrain manipulation and harness the potential of automated negotiation and coordination strategies to attain more effective interaction among machines that have been programmed by different entities to pursue different goals. While game theoretic ideas have been used to answer the question of how a computer should be programmed to act in a given specific interaction, here they are used in a new way, to address the question of how to design the rules of interaction themselves for automated agents. Rules of Encounter provides a unified, coherent account of machine interaction at the level of the machine designers (the society of designers) and the level of the machine interaction itself (the resulting artificial society). Taking into account such attributes of the artificial society as efficiency, and the self-interest of each member in the society of designers, it analyzes what kinds of rules should be instituted to govern interaction among these autonomous agents. The authors point out that adjusting the rules of public behavior--or the rules of the game--by which the programs must interact can influence the private strategies that designers set up in their machines, shaping design choices and run-time behavior, as well as social behavior. Download or read book Decentralized A I 2 written by Y. Demazeau and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1991-12-04 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this proceedings is to stimulate exchange and discussion of research in the field of multi-agent systems. A multi-agent system consists of at least two agents that are engaged in some task that may require coordination, cooperation and/or competition. An autonomous agent has its own goals, capabilities and knowledge. The actions of an agent occur in the context of other agents that may have structures and strategies different from the agent's own. Multi-agent problems arise when several autonomous agents share a common environment. These problems may result from limited resources, shared or competing goals, etc. This MAAMAW workshop proceedings emphasizes multi-agent systems of all sorts from very simple to very complex agents and agent organizations.

Download or read book Supply Chain Management Models written by Hamed Fazlollahtabar and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-01-02 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a wide field in which several specialties are included. In general, operations and production management players use SCM to organize the problems and analyze the solution approaches. Due to these points, a reference which can encompass a range of problems and their modelling approaches is required. This book will contain three general sections of forward, reverse, intelligent, and uncertain problems. While the book provides different problems in the three commonly used categories in SCM, it is very helpful for the readers to find out, or adapt their own application studies to the ones given in the book and employ the corresponding modeliing approach.
Download or read book Uncertainty Management in Simulation Optimization of Complex Systems written by Gabriella Dellino and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-06-29 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book aims at illustrating strategies to account for uncertainty in complex systems described by computer simulations. When optimizing the performances of these systems, accounting or neglecting uncertainty may lead to completely different results; therefore, uncertainty management is a major issues in simulation-optimization. Because of its wide field of applications, simulation-optimization issues have been addressed by different communities with different methods, and from slightly different perspectives. Alternative approaches have been developed, also depending on the application context, without any well-established method clearly outperforming the others. This editorial project brings together — as chapter contributors — researchers from different (though interrelated) areas; namely, statistical methods, experimental design, stochastic programming, global optimization, metamodeling, and design and analysis of computer simulation experiments. Editors’ goal is to take advantage of such a multidisciplinary environment, to offer to the readers a much deeper understanding of the commonalities and differences of the various approaches to simulation-based optimization, especially in uncertain environments. Editors aim to offer a bibliographic reference on the topic, enabling interested readers to learn about the state-of-the-art in this research area, also accounting for potential real-world applications to improve also the state-of-the-practice. Besides researchers and scientists of the field, the primary audience for the proposed book includes PhD students, academic teachers, as well as practitioners and professionals. Each of these categories of potential readers present adequate channels for marketing actions, e.g. scientific, academic or professional societies, internet-based communities, and authors or buyers of related publications.

Download or read book Retail Information Systems Based on SAP Products written by Jörg Becker and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Concentration tendencies, globalization, increasing cost pressure and well-informed customers all make up the hard competition faced by today's businesses. The "right" products, a successful market image, a strong positioning between suppliers and customers, efficient logistics and optimum organization structures contribute to a company's survival. Achieving this goal requires flexible information and communication systems that are fully adaptable to the specific situation. Modern retail information systems are not bound by organization borders but support both business partner cooperation and electronic commerce. This book presents the architecture of retail information systems, as well as the functions of SAP Retail, and in so doing links modern retail management with the implementation strategies based on innovative software systems.
