Book How Could I Forget

Download or read book How Could I Forget written by Willa Grant and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-07-05 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Willa Wonka decided to share her story in this four-part series of memories about her past that she is always confronted and haunted by through her dreams during the night. Forgetting the dreadful ordeals of her past seemed impossible, so she sought and found ways how to cope with the past. She looks to God and his word daily for her strength to get through every day, and she constantly meditates in prayer as her medication for healing as well as her spiritual relationship in connection with the Higher Power. One late evening, during her devotional Bible study, she received a sign from God. He gave her confirmation to let go and release those inner demons by telling and sharing her story as part of her healing process and in hopes to help others who may share a similar story. By telling her story, it will also help others that face those same demons find comfort in knowing that there is hope, real true love, peace, and a calm after every storm. Forgiving has all to do with releasing yourself from an internal mental prison and protecting your spiritual soul, but how does one forget? In this first part of Willa's memories, she takes a journey back to the past and relives her most memorable events, whether good or bad, happy or sad, loved or unloved, frightened or comforted, crazy or sane to confront her past head-on.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Publish my stories, Linda, and take good care of Honey,” my mother said to me right before she moved on to her Heavenly Home. At the end of her life, our mother was concerned that the living history of her 92 years be preserved in these stories that she wrote. Born in 1926 Mom’s most poignant memories were of growing up in a small northern Indiana town, with her parents, grandparents, and friends. Unusual experiences teaching school and traveling the world are recorded here, as well as navigating the world of competition dance after years of avoiding any type of competitive activity. But it was living through the depression and World War II that shaped her character and developed the value system she lived by all of her life and taught her four children. In her words, “Often I have longed for this kind of book written by one of my ancestors. So, hopefully, my descendents will enjoy reading about some highlights of my long life.”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book MEMORIES OF MOUNTAIN HOME SCHOOL is a personal journey by a former student, a labor of love. Part 1 traces the evolution of the school from a one-room, one-teacher school teaching grades one through eight to become a rural consolidated school teaching a fully accredited high school curriculum, to its sad decline and closure brought about by dramatic socio-economic changes that took place following WWII. The author draws from original sources to capture the role of the school in the lives of early settlers prior to Oklahoma statehood and during the years of rapid settlement and political turmoil following Oklahoma statehood through WWI. It describes dedicated work to continue upgrading the school during the economically static years of the 1920s and the years of brutal economic decline during the Great Depression, to form a fully accredited rural high school. After becoming fully accredited in 1941 Mountain Home School enjoyed its years of greatest achievements during the 1940s. Then decline brought about by rapidly declining population set in in the early 1950s leading to closure of the school in 1958. Part 2 is the personal memories contributed by 56 former Mountain Home School students. Their span the period from the early 1930s to the closure of the school in 1958. These wonderful personal memories convey the spirit and achievements of the school and the spirit and shared values of those who learned there.
