Adriannes adult life is distracted by daydreams of childhood; of her powerful uncle Eladio; her best childhood friend, Tomas; and more. Looking back, she can see every mistake she ever made. The uncertainty of her true identity draws her into a realm beyond imagination. She cant even trust her own memory now to help her determine which childhood traumas were real and which were the workings of a mind too young to understand. To this day, one question haunts her: if she could have just accepted the life she was so desperate to leave behind, would she be happier today? Now her life is defined by her success as a real-estate developer, an art dealer, and an innovative architect with visions of reinventing entire communities that celebrate both function and design simultaneously. She drowns her feelings by constantly achieving the impossible, often falling prey to her own desiresand the cunning schemes of the unpredictable man who invaded her life. When a phone call from Spain sends Adrianne rushing back across the Atlantic, can she dare to hope that the answers that had eluded her throughout her life await?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A provocative piece of literary work! Provides a vivid exposition of the evil within our midst, the truly dark side of our Saint Lucian culture. Disturbing in its tortuosity, it is not for the faint of heart or those with deep dark secrets. It may be found offensive, inflammatory, and challenging to many of previous eras and also to those in this current era who sing and dance to the words I wanna be a billionaire so freaking bad! . . . Wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine . . . buy the things I never had! A must read, however, for those seekers of wealth, power, and status! The book does a great job of characterizing the escalating problem of depravity of the human soul stemming from social, cultural, and spiritual deficiencies. It begs the question, Has our holy mother, the Catholic church, been able to attain that nexus between Saint Lucias Afrocentric culture and Christianity? Has our local church been able to challenge and confront what has been deemed acceptable to the bourgeoisie as inherent social/cultural/spiritual values reflected in duplicity in religious outlook? The book however provides a ray of hope as it culminates in an expression of the beauty of the sacramental life provided by mother church, which is available to all in order to put on Gods armor so as to be able to resist the devils tactics. It is hoped that there are still many God-fearing persons in our society who continue to strive for the virtues of honesty and integrity, not willing to compromise the well-being of their fellowman for the sake of an insatiable ambition for power, wealth, and fame! This brilliant exposition then ought to move those who possess a genuine soul, a social and moral conscience, those who still bear light in their hearts, to bring light and life into successive generations of our beloved country, Saint Lucia, seeking to reject evil under all conditions.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The supply vessel was way too large to experience the powerful violent shudder of the thunderous explosion caused by the RPG rocket that had all those nearby, whether friend or foe, shaking and trembling uncontrollably, while their ear drums reverberated by the shockwave of the blast. As the crew reeled from fright, the dark cloud of smoke cleared to reveal a mass of mangled steel of what just seconds ago was the ship’s bridge – its control center. As the crew fought the fear their nerves had been beset with, their minds simultaneously tried with difficulty to render some form of clarity of the dire situation that had besieged them. It became every bit as arduous to comprehend that all those who had been within the targeted compartment were worse off than the twisted metal. People had just died! This was insane! Absolutely surreal to their mind sets. How could this be possible? How could this catastrophic occurrence have befallen them in this modern sea-faring age? The ship had cruised these waters many times over without a problem. Now suddenly they were beset upon by local armed thugs in small powerboats attempting to hijack not only their vessel, but putting their very lives in jeopardy as well. The crew's minds were still focused on the carnage and disheveled thoughts that lingered, when in a heartbeat, multiple automatic weapons fired in unison and a hail of bullets struck metalwork structures around them. The deadly fusillade forcibly brought their minds back to the fact they were in imminent danger. It was sink or fight and to these men there was no choice but to go down battling the scourge that threatened their very existence. They quickly sought out the few firearms available on board. However meager the defensive attempt would be, it was their only hope.

Book excerpt: When congratulating my granddaughter on receiving her Masters in Fine Arts degree, I acknowledged my desire to be able to write poetry. Her simple answer was "give it a try." I finished my first poem at age 86. Since then, I have completed over 100 poems. A poet I will never be, however, a writer of poems I can claim. Although saddled with imperfections, my hope is that some spiritual benefit will be derived from the reading of this little book. The beautiful poem "Trees" by Joyce Kilmer was put to music and performed frequently by my father in my youth. The sound of his voice still lingers in my mind. The last line of the poem expresses my feelings. "Poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree."
