Book Walking in Newness of Life

Download or read book Walking in Newness of Life written by Beth Hogan and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2014-07-20 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Centered around the life-changing truth of Romans 6:1-4, Walking in Newness of Life was written specifically for women that have experienced the soul-deadening effects of abortion, abandonment, addiction, abuse, betrayal, divorce, neglect, and other emotionally traumatizing sins. Each daily reading progressively unfolds one aspect of the practical nature of the gospel; to the end that the believer can understand how to appropriate the healing grace-work of God through her identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. The book intentionally emphasizes the personal dimension of the sovereignty of God in the painful providences of life, and the power of the believer's union with Christ to set her free from her sin-induced brokenness. Each daily reading will help the believing woman understand more clearly how she can appropriate the life of Christ by identifying with Him in His death and burial.

Book WALK in the Newness of LIFE

Download or read book WALK in the Newness of LIFE written by Bob Benoit and published by . This book was released on 2020-05-31 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Romans 6 we read that because of what Christ did, we too may "walk in newness of life." What does it mean to "walk" in the newness of life? How do we walk "in the newness" of life? Who is the life? What's the opposite of walking in the newness of life? Scripture explains Scripture. So each lesson herein is a paragraph or two of scripture, in context, sorted by theme, where two or more of the words "walk, new, life, and/or in Christ Jesus" (and their various synonyms) appear in the same paragraph; followed by four questions. Each Scripture is in context, but it is best if you also read what surrounds these verses. The following are some of the Scriptures included in this Bible study on walking in the newness of life. Walking in the Life starts by knowing Jesus and what He did on the cross - for you. Jesus is the Christ, God's Son, and the Son has life in Himself. He is the life; He gives life, and that life is eternal life. The death that He died, He died to sin once for all. We were crucified with Him, and we have been made alive together with Him. By grace we have been saved. He purchased newness of life. Those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh, with its passions and desires, died to self, walk according to the Spirit, and live according to the will of God. The Spirit of Truth guides us into all truth. We walk in the truth, in His ways as children of light, built up in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, who gives life. We put on the Lord Jesus Christ in the likeness of God, created in righteousness and holiness. His love is perfected in us. We obey His voice. We trust in Him and put our hope in Him. We find wisdom in Him and gain understanding. He gives life to our soul and grace to our neck. The peace of God rules in our hearts, the word of Christ dwells richly in us, and whatever we do, we do in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God through Him, for we were created in Christ Jesus, to walk in good works. "It is no longer I who live, but Christ in me." The following are some other Bible studies similar to "Those who are Christ's have CRUCIFIED the FLESH" which are all part of the IN HIM series: abide IN HIM... and HIM IN us... and bear fruit... for without HIM nothing is possible... and with HIM nothing is impossible. Book The Presbyterian Philosopher

Download or read book The Presbyterian Philosopher written by Douglas J. Douma and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2017-01-24 with total page 319 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the story of Gordon Clark (1902-85), respected philosopher and prolific writer, who held that Christianity, as a logically coherent system, is superior to all other philosophies. Clark fought no wars and conquered no kingdoms. Yet he was a leading figure in many theological wars fought for the Kingdom of God. These battles for the minds and souls of men were every bit as crucial as physical wars between nations. In an age of increasing secularization, he put up an intellectual defense of the Christian faith. This faith, he believed, was a system. All of its parts link together, a luxury of no other philosophy. His stance shows a Christianity that is in fact intellectual, not relying on appeals to emotion or experience. In propounding this view, he encountered frequent opposition, not from the secular world, but from within his own denomination. This biography helps explain why his thought was so profound, why resistance mounted against him, and how his struggles impacted American Presbyterianism. Additionally, this book calls for a reappraisal of Clark's views, which have been maligned by controversy. Understanding and applying his views could significantly fortify Christians combating irrational and non-systematic ideas prevalent in today's churches.
