Book Legend of the Rainbow Warriors

Download or read book Legend of the Rainbow Warriors written by Steven McFadden and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2005 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Legend of the Rainbow Warriors is a journalist's account of one of the core myths of America, and an electrifying exploration of how that myth is playing out in real time as we approach the crucial year of 2012. One dominant myth is formed by advertising images of vast, luxurious wealth-the myth of materialism. Another myth is conjured in the bloody, sorrowful images that pervade movies, music and computer games-the myth that the world is hate-filled and chaotic beyond redemption. The Legend of the Rainbow Warriors offers a spiritual alternative of hope and real possibility based upon respect, freedom and responsibility. As drawn from dozens of historical accounts, the Legend of the Rainbow Warriors relates that "when the Earth becomes desperately sick, people of all colors and faiths will unite, and rise to face the overwhelming challenges with insight, honesty, caring, sharing, and respect." Veteran writer Steven McFadden weaves the myths and the headlines together seamlessly in a rich work of literary journalism that is adroitly crafted, eye-opening, and soul-inspiring.

Book France in the South Pacific

Download or read book France in the South Pacific written by Denise Fisher and published by ANU E Press. This book was released on 2013-05-23 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: France is a Pacific power, with three territories, a military presence, and extensive investments. Once seen by many as a colonial interloper in the South Pacific, by the early 2000s, after it ended nuclear testing in French Polynesia and negotiated transitional Accords responding to independence demands in New Caledonia, France seems to have become generally accepted as a regional partner, even if its efforts concentrate on its own territories rather than the independent island states. But Frances future in the region has yet to be secured. By 2014 it is to have handed over a set of agreed autonomies to the New Caledonian government, before an independence referendum process begins. Past experience suggests that a final resolution of the status of New Caledonia will be divisive and could lead once again to violent confrontations. In French Polynesia, calls continue for independence and for treatment under UN decolonisation procedures, which France opposes. Other island leaders are watching, so far putting faith in the Noumea Accord, but wary of the final stages. The issues and possible solutions are more complex than the French Pacific island population of 515,000 would suggest. Combining historical background with political and economic analysis, this comprehensive study offers vital insight into the intricate history -- and problematic future -- of several of Australias key neighbours in the Pacific and to the priorities and options of the European country that still rules them. It is aimed at policy-makers, scholars, journalists, businesspeople, and others who want to familiarise themselves with the issues as Frances role in the region is redefined in the years to come.

The most symbolic items belonging to the ship's historical inventory are be also included. Maite Mompo has been a Greenpeace activist for over ten years. Book excerpt: THE RAINBOW WARRIOR has been successfully published in Spain. The book narrates a dream and like dreams, it is woven with threads of two worlds: the real and imaginary one. It is a choral and visual composition. A caricature and a kaleidoscope of human emotions, painted with light and thick strokes of a brush, in a simple language. The teachings of several great masters enlighten us throughout. The alter ego of planet Earth, Plutonio, came into being through an act of faith and will. Life in Plutonio was idyllic, and the nations of the planet lived in peace and harmony. The Rainbow Warrior, spiritual and temporal leader of the Kuyichis and an immortal being, was the spiritual heart of the planet. Fairystan, Queendom of the Fairies who provided through their magic anything material a nation needed, was a highly developed country. All was well in Plutonio until two babies from planet Earth, a boy and a girl, Daimon and Burba, materialised through the black holes of the universe, bringing with them, unbeknown to all, the seed of fear and greed, which rapidly sprouted throughout. The chain of events that followed transformed Plutonio into a planet where devastation, injustice and greed were the common denominator. The Titanium Oracle, an ancient alchemist of Fairystan, requests Fairy Lalitha to bring from planet Earth and through the internet, two youths with good intent: Basil from New York City, (fifteen years old) and Carola from Madrid (thirteen years old) to counteract the evil forces thus beginning our quest.
