Book A Journey of Healing the Damaged Soul

Download or read book A Journey of Healing the Damaged Soul written by Dominic Maka and published by Dog Ear Publishing. This book was released on 2010-05 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I thought my life was in no particular turmoil when I first met Jaichima and Vicente in 1992. Retrospectively, I was lost, confused, and hanging onto life by a thread . . . a thread of delusions spun by suppression and repression and concealed by layers of addiction and denial. Although college educated and successful, I was feeling increasingly frustrated, depressed and unhappy for unknown reasons. Moving from the Midwest to Arizona failed to effectively alter my disposition. Closing my business and quitting my job did not help. The truth remained concealed even after two years of intervention by the Mara'akames. Slowly, via counseling, ceremonies and workshop involvement, the truth began to emerge. Thirty years of repression, addiction, denial and delusion, gradually surrendered their ugly tentacles revealing horrendous untreated childhood sexual and parental abuse. Untreated, the effects of my childhood trauma developed into a severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder that has been expressed through unconscious imbalanced entity behaviors most of my life. When counseling began, my life instantly unraveled. I became confused, angry and disconnected with the person I never knew or understood; myself. Though repression and denial saved my life, intervention unlocked the door exposing my damaged entities that were created during childhood, nurtured during teen years and perfected during adulthood absent counseling. These life-saving entities silently and unknowingly controlled my life. Through the Mara'akames nontraditional intervention, guidance and healing techniques, my nonexistent spirituality gradually transformed into deep spiritual awareness. This spirituality became the essential foundation for my healing . . . and was rudimentary for unveiling my horrific past. This candid story reveals how blind adulation of my father led to horrendous childhood sexual and parental abuse with subsequent complete repression and denial. It reveals my atrocious past, defines my entities, and discusses my healing process after thirty years of repression. It also elucidates the non-traditional healing techniques, foremost spirituality, taught by the Mara'akames. Jaichima is a Mara'akame from the Huichol tribe called Wirarika of the Sierra Madre Mountains of Mexico. She has practiced ancient and traditional tribal medicine for many years in Mexico and the United States. She speaks numerous languages and has been a committed medicine woman all of her life. Dominic Maka has been employed as a health care and vocational rehabilitation professional throughout his career. For ten years he owned and operated a successful consulting business. He has been married thirty years and is the father of three children.

Book Dear Broken Soul Return Home to God

Download or read book Dear Broken Soul Return Home to God written by Liyana Musfirah and published by IMAN Publication Sdn Bhd. This book was released on with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “What’s beautiful about being broken is that you start to realise how much feelings you carry. You are introduced to the layers of emotions that you never knew were in you all along.” *** Life is a place for us to be tested — this is something we know but going through a painful and heartbreaking experience can leave the heart feeling like it’s shattered into pieces. We succumb to the pain, drown ourselves in the whirlwind of emotions, and we end up becoming a person we no longer recognise because of our “brokenness”. But love and pain are emotions from God. So why does one bring us joy and the other makes us feel like we’re trapped in a dark hole? *** In Dear Broken Soul, Islamic educator, Liyana Musfirah, and licensed psychotherapist, Maimunah Mosli, explore what happens to us when we go through a heartbreaking experience and how we can revive the heart by seeking God through our brokenness. It also invites us to embrace one certain fact – our heart and its brokenness will always have a home to come back to – and that is with God.

Well, when he grabbed me inappropriately and without my permission I kind of lost it and may or may not have but definitely did, emasculate him in front of all his friends in the bar, and everyone else. Thinking that was end of it I moved on, clearly, he didn't as my current situation proves. From there a tattooed man scares him off and gets me to help. Little do I know him and his friends are going to become a permanent part of my life, helping me heal both mentally and physically. Kyle, Flynn, Owen, Silas, and Heath all stand next to me helping with my issues and keeping me safe as I work through things from my past that pop up from this recent attack. When it turns out I have a stalker, they guys draw closer to me as we all try to navigate my crazy life. In getting to know them and spending time with them, I've come to realize I like them, all five of them. Does that make me selfish? Yep. Can we all make this work? I guess we'll see... Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Healing a Shattered Soul, Mindy Corporon invites readers to join her search for inspiration and hope after domestic terrorism took the lives of her father and son. Headlines about the attack circled the world. Now, Mindy takes readers inside her family's struggle, the support of their faith community and her commitment to courageous kindness. A popular speaker, teacher and writer, Mindy has dedicated her life to encouraging kindness, faith and healing in congregations, companies and communities. Among the programs she has co-founded with this vision are the Faith Always Wins Foundation and Workplace Healing, LLC. She has traveled widely to lead workshops and speak at conferences, and also works with online events. She explains that she wrote this book "for those who are seeking inspiration; for those who are searching for a glimmer of hope and faith; and for those in need of necessary, supportive relationships, even in the hardest times." In his Foreword, best-selling author and pastor the Rev. Adam Hamilton writes, "Mindy Corporon's story helps us understand how one survives tragedy, and says to the reader, 'If Mindy can survive this, and can do what she has done, then surely I can survive the adversity I face and can bring something good from it.' " The book's Preface is a heart-felt appeal to readers from another mother who suffered a tragic loss to domestic terrorism in recent years. Susan Bro is the mother of Heather Heyer, killed in Charlottesville, Virginia. In her Preface, Susan writes, "Mothers lose their children to violence every day, and yet many have no time to grieve and receive little to no public support or attention. We must hold space in our hearts and minds for them as we continue to overcome hate with love. People say, 'Love always wins.' I say that is true when we practice that love in meaningful ways that make a difference. I see Mindy Corporon as one of those mothers doing exactly that. We never want other mothers to experience the pain and loss of losing a loved one, especially a child, to hate. I am honored to call Mindy Corporon my friend. Her book offers hope in a time of pain, pointing the way forward with faith and love. Read it and be encouraged to find your own way forward through pain and loss."

Book excerpt: Soul of Man is the testimony of one man's journey through the most essential of all emotions: love. Marshall unleashes his utmost personal accounts and pours his heart into every word, letting his soul guide his path. Through the poems in this brave volume, Joel speaks both of the wonderment love brings and the damage it causes. He writes of love's hope, commitment, and temptation. His pen holds nothing back and his hand screams his angst with great abandon. Through it all, Marshall discovers that love, at its core, does not just conquer the heart but also heals the soul. "How do you measure the soul of a man? Simple: It ?s impossible. It ?s only when a man is brave enough to bare his soul and share with us its tapestry woven with secrets, love, emotion, and magic that we can even begin to wrap our mind around its value, its beauty, and its magnificent light! How do you measure the soul of a man? You don ?t. You appreciate it, especially one as beautiful as that of Mr. Joel Marshall." ~Tony Enos, Recording Artist

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Liberate yourself from the limitations and judgments imposed by your inner critic, and develop “soul qualities” to experience freedom and vitality Whether we call it the inner critic or the superego, most of us have a judge within who nags us and is constantly on our case. Byron Brown provides a comprehensive guide to understanding how the inner critic works as well as practical, positive suggestions for breaking free of it. Using straightforward language and everyday examples, you’ll explore: • Where the inner judge came from • How it operates • Why it trips us up • Why we believe we need it • How to develop awareness of it • How to disengage from it • The "soul qualities" we can develop to weaken its influence Each chapter begins with an episode of the story of Frank and Sue to illustrate the insidious nature of the inner critic inside all of us. A simple exercise is also included at the end of each chapter, designed to help readers move along the path of self-discovery.
