Book excerpt: that about 100 journals are required to yield fifty In 1957, the Thermophysical Properties Research Center (TPRC) of Purdue University, under the percent. But that other fifty percent! It is scattered leadership of its founder, Professor Y. S. Touloukian, through more than 3500 journals and other docu began to develop a coordinated experimental, ments, often items not readily identifiable or ob theoretical, and literature review program covering tainable. Over 75,000 references are now in the files. a set of properties of great importance to science and technology. Over the years, this program has grown Thus, the man who wants to use existing data, steadily, producing bibliographies, data compila rather than make new measurements himself, faces tions and recommendations, experimental measure a long and costly task if he wants to assure himself ments, and other output. Book A Bibliography of the Thermophysical Properties of Oxygen at Low Temperatures

Download or read book A Bibliography of the Thermophysical Properties of Oxygen at Low Temperatures written by Jerome G. Hust and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This bibliography of the mechanical, thermodynamic and transport properties of oxygen below 0°C presents 325 references and is the result of a thorough search of the world's scientific and engineering literature. In addition to searching abstracting journals and bibliographies, the authors reviewed each document for property data and for additional references. Listed for each reference are the properties and the corresponding temperature and pressure range, together with additional pertinent information such as type of data (i.e., whether the data are derived from experimental measurements, theoretical considerations or as a compilation from other sources), the form and amount of data, etc. An index according to property, sub-indexed for temperature and pressure ranges, and an author index are included.

Book Estimated Viscosities and Thermal Conductivities of Gases at High Temperatures

Download or read book Estimated Viscosities and Thermal Conductivities of Gases at High Temperatures written by Roger A. Svehla and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Viscosities and thermal conductivities, suitable for heat-transfer calculations, were estimated for about 200 gases in the ground state from 100° to 5000° K and 1-atm pressure. Free radicals were included, but excited states and ions were not. Calculations for the transport coefficients were based upon the Lennard-Jones (12-6) potential for all gases. Intermolecular force constants for this potential were obtained from experimental viscosity data or were estimated when data were not available. The same set of constants was used to calculate both viscosity and conductivity. An Eucken-type correction for exchange between internal and translational energies was made for thermal conductivities of polyatomic gases.

This book was released on 2022-07-09 with total page 1074 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thermophysical Properties of Individual Hydrocarbons of Petroleum and Natural Gases: Properties, Methods, and Low-Carbon Technologies is a go-to data source for engineers who need derive property data on everyday components. Providing more precise data improves existing oil and gas processing systems and creates opportunities for more sustainable operations and equipment, such as hydrogen and carbon capture. Covering modern equations of state, this source discusses detailed descriptions of experimental apparatus, methods of measurement, corrections and error estimates as well as results of previous experiments. Generalized predictive methods for calculating viscosity and thermal conductivity are also covered. Rounding out with property databases and lower-carbon technology advances, the book gives today’s engineers a detailed study of methods for more sustainable experimental research of thermophysical properties. Teaches approaches for the measurement and modeling of thermophysical properties for future sustainability growth, including hydrogen and carbon capture Provides exact property data of natural gas and their main components, including saturated properties Gives readers new knowledge in experimental measurement procedures and guidelines for calculating thermophysical properties, along with updates on applications

Book Transport Properties of Chemicals and Hydrocarbons

Download or read book Transport Properties of Chemicals and Hydrocarbons written by Carl L. Yaws and published by William Andrew. This book was released on 2014-06-20 with total page 724 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Covering more than 7,800 organic and inorganic chemicals and hydrocarbons, Transport Properties of Chemical and Hydrocarbons, Second Edition is an essential volume for any chemist or chemical engineer. Spanning gases, liquids, and solids, the book covers all critical properties (including viscosity, thermal conductivity, and diffusion coefficient). From C1 to C100 organics and Ac to Zr inorganics, the data in this handbook is a perfect quick reference for field, lab, or classroom use. By collecting a massive – but relevant – amount of information in one source, the handbook enables engineers to spend more time developing new designs and processes, and less time collecting vital properties data. This is not a theoretical treatise, but an aid to the practicing engineer in the field, on day-to-day operations and long-range projects. Simplifies research and significantly reduces the amount of time spent collecting properties data Compiled by an expert in the field, the book provides engineers with data they can trust All critical properties are covered for ease of reference, including viscosity, thermal conductivity, and diffusion coefficient
