  • Author : Jan Auggi Jones
  • Publisher : Xlibris Corporation
  • Release : 2017-11-29
  • ISBN : 1543468179
  • Pages : 489 pages

Download or read book My Heart Sings written by Jan Auggi Jones and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2017-11-29 with total page 489 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This author appreciates writing poetry, novels, childrens stories; the performing arts; and music of many genres. She was raised on gospel and country music played on an old Victrola phonograph with a black-and-white dog staring into a gramophone on the inside of the cover. Today, this author has become enamored with and is fangirling over country a cappella music, which is relatively new. Curious about the behind the scenes activities of a successful bands life, living on the edge of temptations in todays media-frenzied world, she created a believable group running through life on unbelievable favor, spearheaded by love between a wealthy, incredibly intelligent and beautiful African-American ballerina and a super talented tenor from the deep South and their unique way of overcoming racial issues with love. Murder, sex, and drugs fuel the life and romance of these two extraordinary, opposite, characters living and excelling way above the normal expectations of life, hinting into the cosmic pluralism like no one has ever experienced before. This author spent thirty-five years in the busy, topsy-turvy support area of corporate America, starting with the FBI and ending in the legal field, before being forced to retire on disability. This is her first adult romance novel. She writes and has published poetry on poetry.com with two poems published in anthologies; she was the author and publisher of Newsletters for Boy Scout Troop and Pack 731, The Indian Creek District, and for newsletters, service bulletins, and memorial programs for two churches. The author is a widow who lives in Waldorf, Maryland, with her son, daughter-law, grandson, and grandpup, Toli.

Book Crazy Lady

Download or read book Crazy Lady written by Myrtle Boykin Sampson and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2015-02 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Crazy Lady: Achievement Against the Odds is an autobiographical account of Dr. Myrtle Boykin Sampson's amazing achievements in the field of clinical psychology--three master's degrees and two doctorate degrees, plus a significant amount of post-doctoral study. All of this was achieved as she fought her own mental health battles. From an early age, she struggled with identity issues, being the younger of a pair of twins. As an academically-gifted African-American woman, she strived to prove herself in a time of white male-dominated educational and professional environs. She faced the disappointment of infertility, followed by the joy of adoption, only to learn this beautiful child that she loved so much was autistic. These stressors led her to a drinking problem, "a nervous breakdown," and later mental illness due to a chemical imbalance. She had both inpatient and outpatient treatments, including electroconvulsive shock treatments (ECTs). To quote Dr. Sampson, "As a clinical psychologist who has counseled many hundreds of people, I can say that the personal journey that brought me to this point is a fascinating and instructive case study worth sharing." And, indeed, this is a captivating read. Dr. Myrtle Boykin Sampson is a licensed clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, university educator, nationally certified counselor, civic volunteer, and philanthropist. She and her husband, retired pharmacist, Dr. Robert R. Sampson live in Greensboro, NC. The couple has one adult son, Ricky. North Carolina A & T State University's Outstanding Teacher of the Year in '84-'85, she is one of the founders of the Friends of the A & T School of Education and has established an endowed scholarship. A portion of the proceeds from this book will support student scholarships through the Friends organization.

Book Recalibrating the Heart and Mind Back to God

Download or read book Recalibrating the Heart and Mind Back to God written by Tammie Eyvette Monroe and published by Archway Publishing. This book was released on 2024-08-07 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recalibration is the way God frees and propels us to fulfill the destiny that the enemy once stole. Being recalibrated is more than repenting and apologizing to God; it is a process of pruning, chastening, and testing that will prove the believer to be strong in the Lord to resist Satan. In Recalibrating the Heart and Mind Back to God, author Tammie Eyvette Monroe examines the vulnerability of every believer in Christ Jesus to make wrong turns and poor decisions to live in iniquity and falter on their God-given assignment. Even so, God is faithful and redirects and recalibrates our direction so that we can fulfill the destiny that God has chosen for us from the earth’s foundation. Monroe considers the spiritual ramifications of sin and how it negatively influences our lives, going beyond recognizing the effects sin brings and dealing with the resulting pull away from God. She also explores what it takes to be recalibrated to the Father and how it can change your life. Using God’s Word as a tool of deliverance, this guide teaches believers how to overcome and overthrow the enemy from every area of their lives through different types of prayer and the use of the Word of God as a weapon.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I didnt decide to write a poetry it just came to me, I have always loved poetry and literature. Poetry expresses the emotions inside of us that we cant express to a person rather it be love, sadness, disappointment or remorse. Poetry is the words that makes our hearts feel, but also teaches us, others whom listens to the poems. I believe in teaching children at a young age to express with words, I believe totally in communication in a marriage or relationship for when we hold it so much inside so why not write what I feel if I cant tell a person. I write of love for I have love. Love from God even if the neighbor hates me I write of love. I believe most f writing I express in words comes from being the third child I was shy as a child and in my marriage I never got to speak the way I felt, never was important towards the end of my marriage so I just shut down and wrote.
