Download or read book Negotiating Skills for Virgins written by Bob Etherington and published by Marshall Cavendish International Asia Pte Ltd. This book was released on 2018-02-15 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The thought of negotiating, striking a bargain, or god forbid, haggling, strikes fear in the hearts of many. This brilliant instructional guide, packed with anecdotes and advice, is written for all those people who are terrible at negotiating. Based on several years of practical and successful negotiating around the world, the approach adopted by the author in this book will help anyone seal deals on favourable terms. Written in Bob Etherington’s distinctive style (a combination of highly practical advice told in an entertaining fashion), Negotiating Skills for Virgins is all you need to ensure you don’t lose out in your next negotiation 10 reasons you must buy this book and avoid being ground to a pulp! 1. Virgin negotiators demonstrate four common behaviours which contribute to their losing out in negotiations. 2. Successful negotiators, on the other hand, have secret strategies which enable them to win at negotiating. 3. You can project power and authority with your body and voice tone, and stop the other side taking advantage of you. 4. It’s rarely “just the price” – how can you avoid having to discount yours under pressure? 5. You should never sit down for a negotiation without a “letter in your back pocket.” 6. Even inexperienced negotiators can come out on top, as a very recent discovery about the psychological state of brilliant negotiators shows. 7. Giving the other side a big pile of facts about your proposition will actually help them negotiate against you. 8. Giving the other side a false deadline (without ever giving away your real one) will put you in a position of power. 9. Chatty questions are 10 times more persuasive than factual statements. 10. Phrases like “to be honest with you” will undo all your good work and wreck your negotiating strength.

Book excerpt: Sex and Punishment tells the story of the struggle throughout millennia to regulate the most powerful engine of human behaviour: sex. From the savage impalement of an Ancient Mesopotamian adulteress to the imprisonment of Oscar Wilde for 'gross indecency' in 1895, Eric Berkowitz evokes the entire sweep of Western sex law. The cast of Sex and Punishment is as varied as the forms taken by human desire itself: royal mistresses, gay charioteers, medieval transvestites, lonely goat-lovers, prostitutes of all stripes and London rent boys. Each of them had forbidden sex, and each was judged – and justice, as Berkowitz shows – rarely had anything to do with it.

Book The Old Testament in the Layman s Language

Download or read book The Old Testament in the Layman s Language written by Leroy Stout and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2024-02-13 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Roy presents information that allows the reader to retain what is read. For example, the major prophets can be remembered using the term JEDI from the Star Wars movie, J -Jeremiah, E – Ezekiel, D – Daniel, I – Isaiah. Roy reveals some of God’s humor. 1 Kings 11:29-31. Jereboam meets the prophet Ahiah, who demonstrates that Jereboam will rule 10 0f the 12 tribes of Israel by cutting Jereboam’s “new garment” into 12 pieces and giving Jereboam 10. There he stands in his diaper holding 10 rags. Try explaining that to a stranger. The Bible does tell of more serious moments such as 2 Kings 15. During the captivity, All 18 kings of the northern kingdom were bad. The last five kings became kings by murdering their predecessor, We could say the KKK existed i.e, Kings Killing Kings. Some critical information is not obvious. Who is “us” in Genesis 1:26? I And God said let us make man in our image.... Us is the trinity, God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit. They are mentioned in the first chapter of the bible. Roy brings to life the actions of biblical characters is an easy to understand manner that helps to understand scripture. Lets consider the Noah flood. The flood occurred 10 generations after Adam. The average age before the flood was 858 and after the flood it was 317. In order to compare this to today, we divide each side by 10 and get 86 and 32 ie, people died at 32 instead of the normal 86, Why? Solar radiation. We sent wasp larvae into space and proved this theory. The “windows of heaven” were the cooling clouds of a new planet. It had not rained since God created earth Gen 2:5. Water came from two directions, rain and flooding ie, Genesis 7:11. Roy also covers the activities between the Old and New testaments including Persia, Greece, Macabeans and Rome.

Book The Rainforest Survivors

Download or read book The Rainforest Survivors written by Paul Raffaele and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2018-11-13 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Even in our hyper-connected world, there are tribes scattered across the far reaches of the globe who still live much the same way that their ancestors did thousands of years ago. Having had minimal contact with the outside world, these peoples currently live in harmony and unison with the environment around them. But as technology grows and the human population expands, the way of life of these tribes becomes increasingly threatened with every passing day. In The Rainforest Survivors, veteran overseas reporter Paul Raffaele recounts his time spent with three unique jungle tribes—the peace-loving Congo Pygmies, New Guinea’s tree-dwelling Korowai cannibals, and the Amazon’s ferocious Korubo. Over months spent living in these three communities, Raffaele experienced firsthand wisdom and mysterious rites forged over many millennia. Resonating with high adventure and remarkable characters, The Rainforest Survivors details the daily lives of these relatively unknown peoples and provides key political and environmental context, showing how outside forces are closing in on them and threatening to change forever their ways of life. Enthralling and unforgettable, this compelling book is the important portrait of indigenous peoples living the way they have for centuries.

Book Life Cycle Technoeconomic Modeling

Download or read book Life Cycle Technoeconomic Modeling written by Antonio Colmenar Santos and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2020-12-02 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book aims to perform an impartial analysis to evaluate the implications of the environmental costs and impacts of a wide range of technologies and energy strategies. This information is intended to be used to support decision-making by groups, including researchers, industry, regulators, and policy-makers. Life cycle assessment (LCA) and technoeconomic analysis can be applied to a wide variety of technologies and energy strategies, both established and emerging. LCA is a method used to evaluate the possible environmental impacts of a product, material, process, or activity. It assesses the environmental impact throughout the life cycle of a system, from the acquisition of materials to the manufacture, use, and final disposal of a product. Technoeconomic analysis refers to cost evaluations, including production cost and life cycle cost. Often, in order to carry out technoeconomic analysis, researchers are required to obtain data on the performance of new technologies that operate on a very small scale in order to subsequently design configurations on a commercial scale and estimate the costs of such expansions. The results of the developed models help identify possible market applications and provide an estimate of long-term impacts. These methods, together with other forms of decision analysis, are very useful in the development and improvement of energy objectives, since they will serve to compare different decisions, evaluating their political and economic feasibility and providing guidance on potential financial and technological risks.
