En la primera parte del libro se desarrollan teorías y estrategias para prevenir y luchar contra la violencia que se genera, en muchas ocasiones, en las relaciones de parejas adolescentes. La segunda parte aborda la prevención inclusiva y transcultural de esta violencia desde la educación y los servicios sanitarios. Un libro novedoso; útil al profesorado, familias, instituciones y organizaciones públicas y privadas, y asociaciones que actúan y trabajan con adolescentes.

Los nueve capítulos que componen el libro enfocan los tipos de violencias y las señales de alarma, las causas de la violencia y teorías al respecto, las violencias emergentes, la diversidad en las relaciones, y la necesaria educación afectivo-sexual de los jóvenes; todo ello con un enfoque de prevención de las violencias. Cada capítulo contempla dos partes, una con aspectos teóricos sobre la temática que se trata y una segunda, en la que se desarrollan pormenoriza y contextualmente propuestas de actividades para realizar con los estudiantes. Estas actividades, en ocasiones, incorporan a las familias, como agente fundamental e indispensable en esta temática. Los resultados obtenidos y contrastados apuntan a que los niveles de sexismo son altos, hasta el punto de que aquellos adolescentes que han sido educados asumiendo conductas sexistas son incapaces de identificar los comportamientos agresivos como forma de violencia. Se constatan, además, niveles elevados de ciberviolencia, ejercida o sufrida, y tanto en las chicas como en los chicos, utilizando las redes sociales como un medio para potenciarla. Es de destacar el alto grado de justificación de la ciberviolencia, siendo los adolescentes varones quienes arrojan puntuaciones superiores a las mujeres en estos medios.
