Book excerpt: El principal objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el impacto de la violencia contra las mujeres inmigrantes en el ámbito de la pareja y la respuesta que les ofrece el sistema de justicia penal, prestando especial atención a la situación de las víctimas con barrera idiomática. El desarrollo de esta tesis ha permitido constatar que las mujeres inmigrantes tienen mayor riesgo de ser maltratadas por su pareja que las españolas y mayores dificultades para el acceso a la justicia. Asimismo, la investigación realizada en el ámbito comparado indica que el sistema penal no tiene en cuenta sus características y necesidades específicas, lo que puede dar lugar a una respuesta diferencial. Por otra parte, se ha realizado un estudio exploratorio para analizar el derecho a la información de las víctimas a lo largo del proceso penal, pudiendo confirmar que, en el caso específico de las mujeres que desconocen el idioma, este derecho no está garantizado.

Book excerpt: Lara Jüssen takes the case of Latin American household and construction workers in Madrid to show how ir/regular labour migrants make citizenship available for themselves through emplacements, embodiments and enactments of citizenship. After describing the sociopolitical context of crisis and resistance in Spain, citizenship is anthropologized in order to approach it through the workplace: the private household and the construction site. Based on empirical results from interviews, it is analyzed how citizenship is emplaced through ego-centered networks and assemblages that situate the migrants’ social belonging; how it is embodied through carving out of identities of the migrant workers, intersectionality of gender, ethnicity, and class, affects that imprint workers’ bodies, and experiences of violence at the workplace; then citizenships’ enactment is scrutinized through workers’ empowerment for rights, individually at the workplace and collectively through demonstrations and political theater performance in urban public space.

Formación para la mujer en materia de autoprotección Aumentar la autoestima y confianza de la mujer eliminando esos miedos Asesorar a la mujer en temas como la legítima defensa, la violencia de género, agresiones sexuales, como son y cómo las prefieren los violadores, etc. Todo ello elaborando un protocolo de prevención dirigido a la mujer. Existen una serie de reglas de prevención que hay que tener en cuenta para evitar cualquier tipo de peligro, acompañadas de unas medidas de seguridad. Conocer estas técnicas no quiere decir que se vuelvan mujeres violentas o agresivas, sino que adquieren los conocimientos y tácticas necesarias para afrontar y reaccionar ante cualquier agresión, pero ante todo, ser capaces de prevenir cualquier agresión, y de prevenir una situación de peligro, ya que el estudio de la defensa personal comienza con la prevención. La prevención es el mejor medio para garantizarnos una seguridad integral. El agresor es un depredador que elige su presa, la prevención permite que no seamos una presa fácil.
