Download or read book 100 Poems Of Victory And Renewal written by Chakola David Paul and published by sarvad publication. This book was released on 2024-10-24 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The idea behind 100 Poems of Victory and Renewal was born during moments of personal reflection. I have always been drawn to the stories of people who rise after being knocked down, those who find beauty in the journey of recovery, and those who remain resilient in the face of overwhelming odds. As I began to write these poems, I realized that this collection was not just about personal triumph but about the shared victories we all experience in different forms. Whether it’s overcoming personal battles, navigating mental and emotional turmoil, or simply finding the courage to rebuild, these poems reflect the many faces of renewal. Each poem is a testament to the power of persistence and the beauty of rediscovery, no matter how difficult the path. Through these verses, I hope to spark inspiration, encourage reflection, and remind readers that within them lies an unbreakable core, always capable of renewal. I’ve chosen to incorporate styles that speak to today’s readers, including elements of rap, spoken word, and traditional poetic forms. This blend represents not just my personal journey but also the ever-evolving nature of the art of poetry. I am proud to present 100 Poems of Victory and Renewal to you, with the hope that you find within these words a reflection of your own strength, your own journey, and ultimately, your own renewal.

Book excerpt: The monograph is a presentation of the writings of the stateless people called Lemkos-Rusyns, from the earliest awareness of their own cultural and ethnic separateness until World War I. It contains information about the group and its culture, defines the concept of Lemko literature as a minority literature and describes the cultural situation of Lemkos in the 19th century. Ten chapters present the main genres and types of Lemko literature in the years 1848-1918. Literature is shown as one of the key cultural and identity discourses. Extensively quoted excerpts from texts reveal the linguistic reality and consciousness of the Lemko intelligentsia of the time. The monograph also outlines the developmental tendencies of Lemko literature over the successive stages of this community's history.

Download or read book Reading Poetry Writing Genre written by Silvio Bär and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2018-12-27 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This ground-breaking volume connects the situatedness of genre in English poetry with developments in classical scholarship, exploring how an emphasis on the interaction between English literary criticism and Classics changes, sharpens, or perhaps even obstructs views on genre in English poetry. “Genre” has classical roots: both in the etymology of the word and in the history of genre criticism, which begins with Aristotle. In a similar vein, recent developments in genre studies have suggested that literary genres are not given or fixed entities, but subjective and unstable (as well as historically situated), and that the reception of genre by both writers and scholars feeds back into the way genre is articulated in specific literary works. Classical scholarship, literary criticism, and genre form a triangle of key concepts for the volume, approached in different ways and with different productive results by contributors from across the disciplines of Classics and English literature. Covering topics from the establishment of genre in the Middle Ages to the invention of female epic and the epyllion, and bringing together the works of English poets from Milton to Tennyson to Josephine Balmer, the essays collected hereargue that the reception and criticism of classical texts play a crucial part in generic formation in English poetry.
Download or read book Latin Historiography and Poetry in the Early Empire written by John Miller and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2010-08-23 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, a sequel to Clio and the Poets (Brill 2002), takes as its point of departure Quintilian's statement that 'historiography is very close to the poets': it examines not only how verse interfaces with historical texts but also how first-century AD Roman historians engage with issues and patterns of thought central to contemporary poetry and with specific poetic texts. Included are substantive discussions of a wide range of authors, notably Lucan, Seneca, Statius, Pliny, Juvenal, Silius Italicus, and Tacitus.

Download or read book Poems written by Rabindranath Tagore and published by Atlantic Publishers & Dist. This book was released on 2007 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tagore S English Writings Originals And Translations Have Not Received The Attention That They Deserve. The Purpose Of This Edition Is To Make The English Writings Of Tagore Available To The Widest Possible Range Of Readers Interested In The Writings Of Tagore All Over The World, With Just The Bare, Minimum Information Necessary For Appreciating The Writings, And Leave The Critical Assessment To The Readers Themselves. There May Be Two Possible Reasons For The Neglect Of Tagore S English Writings. Firstly, Tagore S Prolific Output, Shakespearean Felicity And Protean Plasticity As A Bengali Poet, Who, Though Well-Versed In English, Chose To Write In The Medium Of His Mother Tongue For Nearly The First Fifty Years Of His Life, And There Is Hardly Any Literary Form That He Did Not Touch Upon And Turn Into Gold. His Creative Genius Found Expression In Poems, Plays, Novels, Essays, Short Stories, Satirical Pieces, Textbooks For Children, And Songs Of All Kinds. The Only Literary Form That He Did Not Try Is Epic. But In His Long, Eventful And Creative Eighty Years Of Life He Virtually Lived An Epic. It Is Largely Due To His Mighty Stature As A Bengali Poet That Nobody Really Bothered About His English Writings And His Own Translations Of His Own Writings.Secondly, It Is Owing To The Supposedly Poor Quality Of His Translations Subsequent To The Translation Of Gitanjali. It Was Only After Tagore Received The Nobel Prize For Literature In 1913 That There Was A Growing Demand For His Writings In The West, And As Tagore Was Not Apparently Satisfied By The Translations That Others Mainly His Admirers Made, He Began To Translate His Writings Himself. But The Tremendous Haste With Which He Had To Translate, Possibly Affected The Quality Of Translations. Come What May, The Point Is Whether Tagore S English Translations Are Good Or Bad, Whether The Translation Furthered His Reputation Or Damaged It, Is Immaterial. The Fact Of The Matter Is That They Are His, And His Own Translation Of Whatever Quality It May Be Is More Valuable To A Tagore Lover Than The Best Translation Made By Somebody Else, As Van Gogh S One Original Single Scratch Is More Valuable Than The Best Possible Copy By Some Other Artist. The Value Of Tagore S English Writings Lies Here : They Constitute An Important Part Of His Total Oeuvre, Add A New Magnificent Dimension To It And Offer Us A Glimpse Into The Mystique Of The Creative Anxiety That Could Have Haunted Even The Greatest Writer Of The Twentieth Century, About His Possible Reception In An Alien Culture.

Download or read book Tumult Tears written by Vivien Newman and published by Pen and Sword. This book was released on 2016-08-31 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the First World War and its immediate aftermath, hundreds of women wrote thousands of poems on multiple themes and for many different purposes. Womens poetry was published, sold (sometimes to raise funds for charities as diverse as Beef Tea for Troops or The Blue Cross Fund for Warhorses), read, preserved, awarded prizes and often critically acclaimed. Tumult and Tears will demonstrate how womens war poetry, like that of their male counterparts, was largely based upon their day-to-day lives and contemporary beliefs. Poems are placed within their wartime context. From war worker to parent; from serving daughter to grieving mother, sweetheart, wife; from writing whilst within earshot of the guns, whilst making the munitions of war, or whilst sitting in relative safety at home, these predominantly amateur, middle-class poets explore, with a few tantalising gaps, nearly every aspect of womens wartime lives, from their newly public often uniformed roles to their sexuality.
