Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book summarizes my life and how I went from adversity to despair and how I achieved victory and triumph after a long struggle with Depression. It is a message of hope for those who have been abused and that there is a light at the end of a very dark tunnel. It is through Christ and gaining help from Christian individuals, who greatly impacted my life by sharing their stories of triumph over despair due to abuse in their childhoods. They taught me HOW TO LIVE LIFE in a seemingly hopeless state of mind. I give honour and praise to our wonderful GOD and my LORD JESUS CHRIST, who is also my BEST FRIEND! I hope the reader is encouraged and helped by my sharing my story, interspersed with the poems the Lord gave me in my struggles and, afterwards, poems of victory. JESUS remains my best friend and I hope He will be yours, too!

When there was a loss of a loved one, financial and health issues or those times I just did not feel that God was with me. I felt out of the ark of safety and alone. It's easy to glorify God when things are going well. But can you acknowledge Him when faced with shattered dreams and broken promise? As I pour out in this book allow it to minister to the broken parts of you so that healing can begin. Shunda Johnson is a native of Cincinnati, Oh. She is an instrument used by God to touch the hearts of those who need encouragement. She is called upon for poetry readings at events to shed light and give hope. Her first book of poetry "Be Encouraged" provides comfort to readers. She has been published in Praise magazine, as well as several famous poet's anthologies. She was a Diamond Homer Award nominee for her poem titled "Where I Live." The story she tells through her poetry leaves the reader uplifted and aware that God loves them. Shunda loves to teach, motivate and empower others. She is the mother of four and nana of three. Her favorite scripture is Romans 8:1 because the world can call you guilty but the blood of Jesus sets you free.

Book Victory in the Storm

Download or read book Victory in the Storm written by Butch Dias and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2022-05-04 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Victory in The Storm “Fighting the good fight of faith.” 1 Timothy 6:12A KJV Victory in The Storm is an exciting and inspirational book that will help you through your fight with cancer or any illness. What you learn in this book will build up your faith and strengthen you as you heal. What I wrote is what I learned after the doctors wanted to pull the plug on me. What I wrote here is how I was able to inspire others as I got my healing victory. My prayer as you read this inspirational book is that it will build up your faith. As you read this book. I pray you will build up an expectancy and an atmosphere for miracles. As your faith increases, you will be stirred up and you will get your breakthrough. Another place you can build up your faith is by reading the Bible. Romans 10:17 ESV says, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” I once was in ICU for 37 days, 10 of them in a coma. The doctors gave me little hope. Several times they asked my family to pull the plug on me. The doctors gave me a death sentence, but God gave me a life sentence. He always has the final say. God said “your time, Butch Dias, is not up. You need to tell the world of My story.” I had to make a conscious choice not to listen to the doctor’s report. I read my Bible and researched every healing scripture there was in it. I spent time memorizing them and praying them over myself. I had many Bible believing friends that stuck with me and encouraged me, and prayed me through the bad days. I would learn to stand on the Word of God and in tougher times, stand more. I was blessed to have a great support system. People prayed relentlessly for me. They had “Pit Bull” faith. They would not let go of my healing promises. Miracle after miracle happened and I had to step out in faith to survive. The more I stepped out in faith, the more I got well. I learned that baby steps were still steps forward. Baby steps were just building blocks of faith. This book was written with the love and compassion to help hurting people with what I learned. This is how I found victory for my situation. Sometimes you have to position yourself to receive. A tight end in football has to run the right route to be able to receive the pass from the quarterback. He has to position himself to receive the ball or he will never get his touchdown. By releasing our faith we can create an atmosphere to receive our miracle. Praying for your miracle today and believing for your healing. Sincerely yours in Christ, Butch Dias Matthew 14:12 NASB, “When He went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and felt compassion for them and healed their sick.”

Book excerpt: Poems for accepting all that you are—including those parts of yourself that you wish you could disown “Give yourself permission to rest, and be silent, and do nothing. Love this aloneness, friend. Fall into it. (Don’t worry. You won’t disappear. I am here to catch you.) Invite warm, curious attention deep inside your weary bones. Until there is no loneliness, only radical self-love.” —Jeff Foster “There was never anything wrong with me, and there is never anything wrong with you.” So writes spiritual teacher Jeff Foster, who has traveled through his share of darkness—but also knows the light that lies on the other side. In You Were Never Broken, he presents a collection of poetry that embraces the full spectrum of human experience, from the seemingly mundane to moments of transcendent realization. Each verse is an invitation to stop and meditate on a different facet of personal transformation. Amid these verses, Foster provides his signature straight talk and accessible teachings on the value of stillness and silence, the pitfalls of the spiritual path, and what it means to surrender completely to the beauty of the present moment. For him, the winding path to self-acceptance started with nonjudgmental observation of his darkest thoughts—and here he shares his world-renowned expertise on how to begin your own journey. For Foster, every moment contains infinite possibilities. With You Were Never Broken, you’ll discover not just raw and inspirational poetry, but also a guide for completely surrendering to the beauty and possibility of the present moment.

Book Love Remember

    Book Details:
  • Author : Malcolm Guite
  • Publisher : Canterbury Press
  • Release : 2017-11-30
  • ISBN : 1786220016
  • Pages : 233 pages

Download or read book Love Remember written by Malcolm Guite and published by Canterbury Press. This book was released on 2017-11-30 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bestselling poet Malcolm Guite chooses forty poems from across the centuries that express the universal experience of loss and reflects on them in order to draw out the comfort, understanding and hope they offer. Some of the poems will be familiar, many will be new, but together they provide a sure companion for the journey across difficult terrain. Some of Malcolm’s own poetry is included, written out of his work as a priest with the dying and the bereaved and giving to the volume a powerful authenticity. The choice of forty poems is significant and reflects an ancient practice still observed in some European and Middle Eastern societies of taking extra-special care of a bereaved person in the forty days following a death – our word quarantine come from this. They explore the nature and the risk of love, the pain of letting go and look toward glimpses of resurrection.
