Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tragedy is timeless and universal. So is victory, which is defined by the author’s life as letting God have the controls – allowing him to expose previously hidden beauty, now displayed for the sake of others. This inspiring life story has moved countless others to overcome and look at adversity from God’s perspective. When viewed from the top, a valley is precious and beautiful. Valetta lost her young son Danny to leukemia; her husband Henry succumbed to Hodgkin’s disease a few years later; then she lost her remaining two children in a tragic car accident. Her new reality was nearly unbearable, but when offered a secure position in her father’s business, Valetta refused. The Lord had called her and Henry into ministry, and there was a mountain of unfinished business. Today, Valetta has traveled the world, sharing Christ and teaching Christians how to share Christ in their communities. Thousands have been saved, and countless more inspired in their walk with the Lord. Valetta’s story will touch you, move you, and challenge you to let God do as he desires in and through your life, enabling you to minister to others in ways you never would have imagined possible.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Victory in the Valley is an inspiring testament of the redemptive power of God and a reflection of the unwavering faith Pastor Domeka Kelley possessed in the power of God and His ability to sustain him through every affliction. This book is a window into the life and journey of Domeka as he experiences pitfalls and setbacks, leading him into the darkest period of his life, which he refers to as his "Valley Experience." A valley is defined as a low place or area situated between mountains or hills, and in scripture, valleys are symbolic for difficulties and hardships, while mountains are symbolic for elevation or high place. In this book, Domeka understands although he is in the valley at his lowest, he's simply in between mountains, which is his high place. Equipped with the Word of God and the support of his wife Jessica and children Bryan, Nakia, Malik, and Leyah; Domeka faces every challenge with a smile bigger than his problems, knowing God brought him to it only to bring him through it. This book is relevant to all teaching biblical principles and presenting practical truths while answering two of the most difficult but common questions while in the midst of storms, trials, valleys or simply the fight of your life: How did I get here, and when is it going to be over? "When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on". Franklin D Roosevelt

Book Victory in the Valley

Download or read book Victory in the Valley written by Covia L. Stanley and published by Dog Ear Publishing. This book was released on 2019-01-08 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the culmination of a life experienced by a young African American man who grew up on a farm in rural North Carolina (Longwood in Brunswick County). It is hoped that this work will help young people, especially African Americans, to develop early in life high love for themselves, parents, and siblings. The book begins with early goals of both parents. The two—my mother and father—truly became one as they showed love for each other and reared their children in a Christian home. They demonstrated that we work together in everything we do. They worked side by side constructing our house with wood that was obtained off the land that Dad had purchased prior to marriage. Despite his lack of a high school education, Dad had great abstract thinking that facilitated the positive completion of a beautiful house. House was a building that we stayed in; home was the place where love, joy, good food, quality clothes, positive dialogue, and communication abounded. Home was the center of sharing with each other, showing empathy and compassion, maintaining a positive work ethic, exhibiting respect and pride in the family name, and learning and practicing Scriptural verses, stories, and personalities. Most of all, our parents ensured that we went to church every Sunday and practiced faith in God daily. The book reveals how I used the above experiences to study, help people, change some laws, and show empathy. I tell some of the challenges that I overcame. I maintain that God is my shepherd. Surely, this is a victory in the valley of life. The book acknowledges that I have walked on the shoulders of my beloved parents. They taught and practiced that we should continuously trust in God and put God first.

Book Tasting Victory

Download or read book Tasting Victory written by Gerard Basset and published by Unbound Publishing. This book was released on 2020-03-19 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This the memoir of Gerard Basset, OBE, the greatest wine professional of his generation. A school dropout, Gerard had to come to England to discover his passion. He threw himself into learning everything he could about wine, immersing himself in the world of Michelin star restaurants and beginning the steep climb to the top of the career ladder. Tasting Victory charts his business successes: co-founding and selling the innovative Hotel du Vin chain and founding, with his wife Nina, the much-loved Hotel TerraVina. It recounts in detail just how he managed to earn his unprecedented sequence of qualifications; Gerard is the first and only individual to hold the famously difficult Master of Wine qualification simultaneously with that of Master Sommelier and MBA in Wine Business. But it is his pursuit of the most important award of all that forms the core of this book – how, at his seventh attempt, and after a training regime that would shame most Olympic athletes, the fifty-three-year-old Gerard Basset was finally crowned the Best Sommelier of the World, and acknowledged as the greatest sommelier of his generation. Gerard's memoir is not only the story of how a champion is made, but also a record of how fine dining and hospitality changed in England, going from stale and unexciting to the world-leading sector it is today. Above all, it’s a book about succeeding against great odds: in typical fashion it was when he was diagnosed with cancer of the oesophagus that Gerard responded by deciding to write Tasting Victory, which he completed shortly before his death in January 2019.
