Book Victory in Apparent Defeat

Download or read book Victory in Apparent Defeat written by N.M. Choga and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-11-17 with total page 226 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do You Know the Process of a Victorious Christian Lifestyle? To be more than a conqueror calls for a spirit that infuses a royal nature into the soul and body. Your challenge is to live your purpose in accordance with God's will and move in harmony. This makes you rule as king and priest in the spiritual realm for your life to be meaningful and productive. When the spirit reigns in your life, a spiritual nature flows through you as your body becomes sensitive to producing the fruit of the spirit in a physical sense and practical way. In this way, your conscience becomes aligned toward God and people (Acts 26:16). The explosive power of your wise conscience will dominate as it permeates your entire being to God's glory. Therefore, let the Word of God pierce to divide asunder the soul and spirit (Heb. 4:12). For you, I pray that God sanctifies your spirit and soul and body to be preserved and blameless up to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thess. 5:23). This is the essence of your victory. Therefore, align your life to God's salvation plan. Pull the trigger now. This book will build your faith, encourage the downcast, restore the broken spirit, energize your salvation.

Book Streams in the Desert

Download or read book Streams in the Desert written by Charles E. Cowman and published by e-artnow. This book was released on 2022-01-21 with total page 721 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author of this book, Lettie Cowman, often stated, "I did not write Streams. God gave me Streams." The book was created when I's author and her husband, Charles Cowman, went through the hard times of his illness that forced the couple to return from their mission in Japan. Seeing the everyday sufferings of her husband and thus, suffering herself, Letty found relief in reading Bible and recording everything her recollections daily. Through time, her notes made a whole book. The book is split into daily sections. Each section starts with a passage from Bible and a quote from another book and contains the author's reflections on patience, suffering, and obedience to the will of God. In the beginning, no one believed that this book could be a success, even its publisher. Yet, Lettie's recollections on pain and suffering were mirrored by thousands of other people coming through hard times and helped them find peace and relief._x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monumental commentary on the book of Revelation, originally published in 1999, has been highly acclaimed by scholars, pastors, students, and others seriously interested in interpreting the Apocalypse for the benefit of the church. Too often Revelation is viewed as a book only about the future. As G. K. Beale shows, however, Revelation is not merely a futurology but a book about how the church should live for the glory of God throughout the ages -- including our own. Engaging important questions concerning the interpretation of Revelation in scholarship today, as well as interacting with the various viewpoints scholars hold on these issues, Beale's work makes a major contribution in the much-debated area of how the Old Testament is used in the Apocalypse. Approaching Revelation in terms of its own historical background and literary character, Beale argues convincingly that John's use of Old Testament allusions -- and the way the Jewish exegetical tradition interpreted these same allusions -- provides the key for unlocking the meaning of Revelation's many obscure metaphors. In the course of Beale's careful verse-by-verse exegesis, which also untangles the logical flow of John's thought as it develops from chapter to chapter, it becomes clear that Revelation's challenging pictures are best understood not by apparent technological and contemporary parallels in the twentieth century but by Old Testament and Jewish parallels from the distant past.

Book excerpt: G. K. Beale s monumental New International Greek Testament Commentary volume on Revelation has been highly praised since its publication in 1999. This shorter commentary distills the superb grammatical analysis and exegesis from that tome (over 1,300 pages) into a book more accessible and pertinent to preachers, students, and general Christian readers. As in the original commentary, Beale views Revelation as an integrated whole, as a conscious continuation of the Old Testament prophetic books, and shows that recognizing Revelation s nearly constant use of Old Testament allusions is key to unlocking its meaning. Interspersed throughout the volume are more than sixty sets of Suggestions for Reflection to help readers better grasp the relevance of Revelation to their lives and our world today.

Book The Cyclic Relations of the Chanson de Willame

Download or read book The Cyclic Relations of the Chanson de Willame written by Theodore Ely Hamilton and published by . This book was released on 1911 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Its object is to examine the Chanson de Willame and various related sources and to compare the latter, both with one another and with the Willmne. These comparisons will include many minor points of resemblance and difference, but the special aim will be to derive from such comparisons more general conclusions in regard to the cyclic relations of the chansons. The plan which will be followed is to give for each source, first, a resume and, second, critical notes upon the same. The resumes, though calculated to give good general views of the sources treated, are intended particularly to bring out points of special interest for discussion and cyclic comparison. Finally, there will be, at the close of the paper, a more general argument in regard to the probable origins of the legends and the development and cyclic relations of the sources studied. The sources which especially receive attention in this paper are, in addition to the Chanson de Willame: Foucon de Candie, Le Sto'fie N erbonesi, Aliscans, Les Enfances Vivien, and La C hevalerie V ivien. They are taken up in the order indicated.

Book The Faith of the Christian Church

Download or read book The Faith of the Christian Church written by Gustaf Aulen and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2002-04-26 with total page 417 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paperback reprinting of Gustaf Aulen's great textbook of systematic theology should be a welcome delight to the Christian theologian. The reputation if this second English edition, based on the fifth and most extensively revised Swedish edition, has steadily increased over the years as a clear and sound guide to the substance of the Christian faith. Besides treating the whole compass of traditional themes associated with the doctrines of God, Christ, and the church, Aulen in this edition has provided new chapters on the Communion of Saints and on the relation between scripture and tradition. The chapters on the biblical validation of the content of faith, the doctrine of the Lord's Supper, and the unity of the church and the disunity of the churches were rewritten. The statements on the relation between the two testaments, creation and redemption, natural law, the resurrection, the validity of infant baptism, and eschatology were substantially revised. Aulen's keen analysis and clear presentation of the fundamental motifs of the Christian faith, his sharp demarcation of these motifs from their aberrations in the history of Christian thought and in contemporary theology, and especially his profound sense of the oneness of the church's faith have endeared this book to students, theologians, clergymen, and hosts of intelligent and inquiring laity of every denomination.
