Download or read book Vicinal Diaryl Substituted Heterocycles written by M. R. Yadav and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2018-03-14 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vicinal Diaryl-Substituted Heterocycles: A Gold Mine for the Discovery of Novel Therapeutic Agents draws together all of the key information about these compounds in one place for the first time. Following an informative overview of the importance of these structures to the discovery of potential therapeutic agents, the text goes on to outline the main compound types, with each chapter focusing on the activities of a different structure. Designed to support researchers by consolidating this important information in a single, practical guide, the authors hope to encourage further advancement and development in the discovery of novel therapeutic agents. As flexible building blocks for the production of novel compounds, vicinal diaryl-substituted heterocycles are a rich source of leads for the development of new drugs. Their adaptability means that they can be used to produce structures with a broad range of attractive characteristics, and a large number of vicinal diaryl-substituted heterocyclic compounds have already been synthesized and investigated by medicinal chemists as promising lead molecules. - Collects together details of the key vicinal diaryl-substituted heterocyclic compounds in one place for the first time - Highlights biological activities and SAR of derivatives - Structured practically for ease of navigation between different derivatives

Book Heat Induced Quasicrystal Formation in Vicinal Water Quantum Coherence in Microtubules and the Phi Connectome

Download or read book Heat Induced Quasicrystal Formation in Vicinal Water Quantum Coherence in Microtubules and the Phi Connectome written by Marshall Goldberg and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2020-12-08 with total page 47 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scientific Essay from the year 2020 in the subject Physics - Quantum Physics, , language: English, abstract: This paper proposes a mechanism producing quantum coherence in microtubules and questions, how this quantum coherence is scaled up to include the cerebral cortex. Microtubules are part of the cytoskeleton in all cells. In neurons, they are thought to play a key role in consciousness. The Orch-OR theory of consciousness maintains that consciousness—qualia, the feeling of life itself—requires quantum processes, and that Turing machine algorithms, though capable of astonishing calculations, lack insight and understanding. "Insight" as Gödel’s incompleteness argument suggests may not be demonstrable by an algorithmic process. Consciousness (Chalmer’s explanatory gap) may depend on more than calculation. In the current consciousness paradigm, quantum coherent microtubules are considered the primary unit of "computation" rather than neurons and the synapses between neurons.

Book Microstructure of Fine Grained Sediments

Download or read book Microstructure of Fine Grained Sediments written by Richard Harold Bennett and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1991 with total page 614 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Knowledge of basic clay microstructure is fundamental to an understanding of the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of fine-grained sediments and rocks. This compilation of fifty-nine peer-reviewed papers examines clay microstructure in detail with comprehensive sections focusing on microstructure signatures, environmental processes, modeling, measurement techniques, and future research recommendations. Many of these topics are discussed in light of geological and engineering applications, such as hazardous waste disposal, construction techniques, and drilling programs. The field of clay microstructure is developing rapidly. The concepts, observations, and principles presented in this book will help stimulate new thought and be a "spring board" for exciting new research.

Book Silicon Surfaces and Formation of Interfaces

Download or read book Silicon Surfaces and Formation of Interfaces written by Jarek Dabrowski and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2000 with total page 580 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Silicon, the basic material for a multibillion-dollar industry, is the most widely researched and applied semiconductor, and its surfaces are the most thoroughly studied of all semiconductor surfaces. Silicon Surfaces and Formation of Interfaces may be used as an introduction to graduate-level physics and chemical physics. Moreover, it gives a specialized and comprehensive description of the most common faces of silicon crystals as well as their interaction with adsorbates and overlayers. This knowledge is presented in a systematic and easy-to-follow way. Discussion of each system is preceded by a brief overview which categorizes the features and physical mechanisms before the details are presented. The literature is easily available, and the references am numerous and organized in tables, allowing a search without the need to browse through the text. Though this volume focuses on a scientific understanding of physics on the atomistic and mesoscopic levels, it also highlights existing and potential links between basic research in surface science and applications in the silicon industry. It will be valuable to anyone writing a paper, thesis, or proposal in the field of silicon surfaces.
