Book Black Hawk Helicopter Vibration Analysis Due to Main Rotor Damage

Download or read book Black Hawk Helicopter Vibration Analysis Due to Main Rotor Damage written by Joseph C. Fries and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Black Hawk helicopter cockpit vibrations due to main rotor damage are presented based upon an analysis and computer code originally developed in-house in the Air Systems Branch (ASB) of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL). Ballistic damage is simulated by removing various amounts of the outer radius of one blade of the rotor set of four blades. This simulated blade damage causes the rotor to be unbalanced allowing undesirable vibrations to he transmitted into the fixed-system airframe. This work considers the longitudinal, lateral, and vertical cockpit amplitude and phase components of the vibrations that make up the total vector vibrations that a cockpit occupant would feel. If the vibrations are severe enough, they could lead to attrition of the aircraft. This vibration data can be used in conjunction with historical human-vibration-tolerance data for later work toward determining a pilot's capability to function in the helicopter cockpit vibration environment.

Book Handbook of Human Vibration

Download or read book Handbook of Human Vibration written by M. J. Griffin and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 1005 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today the human body is exposed to vibration not only while traveling but also during leisure and domestic activities and in many occupations. This volume summarizes the current understanding of the many human responses to vibration. Divided into two parts, this book deals with whole-body vibrations and hand-transmitted vibration. In each part the experimental data and appropriate models are presented in detail so that readers can address practical problems. An extensive guide to national and international standards is provided, and a large multidisciplinary glossary of terms assists in understanding the relevant technical and medical jargon. This comprehensive reference volume is accessible to all those interested in human vibration: medical doctors, engineers, lawyers, scientists, and health and safety officials and administrators. LK uses the following bulleted list_ This new text features: An up-to-date statement of current knowledge on human responses to vibration A comprehensive glossary of terms in current use in the fields of vibration and human response An extensive bibliography and guide to national and international standards

Book Mechanical Vibrations

Download or read book Mechanical Vibrations written by Tomasz Krysinski and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2010-01-05 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For all rotational machines, the analysis of dynamic stresses and the resulting vibrations is an important subject. When it comes to helicopters and piston engines, this analysis becomes crucial. From the design of parts working under stress to the reduction of the vibration levels, the success of a project lies mainly in the hands of the dynamicists. The authors have combined their talents and experience to provide a complete presentation on the issues involved. Part one describes, in concrete terms, the main dynamic phenomena and how they can be observed in reality. Part two presents information about the modeling methods required to understand the dynamic phenomena and develop solutions capable of eliminating the most serious effects.

Book Vibration and Shock Handbook

Download or read book Vibration and Shock Handbook written by Clarence W. de Silva and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2005-06-27 with total page 1837 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every so often, a reference book appears that stands apart from all others, destined to become the definitive work in its field. The Vibration and Shock Handbook is just such a reference. From its ambitious scope to its impressive list of contributors, this handbook delivers all of the techniques, tools, instrumentation, and data needed to model, analyze, monitor, modify, and control vibration, shock, noise, and acoustics. Providing convenient, thorough, up-to-date, and authoritative coverage, the editor summarizes important and complex concepts and results into “snapshot” windows to make quick access to this critical information even easier. The Handbook’s nine sections encompass: fundamentals and analytical techniques; computer techniques, tools, and signal analysis; shock and vibration methodologies; instrumentation and testing; vibration suppression, damping, and control; monitoring and diagnosis; seismic vibration and related regulatory issues; system design, application, and control implementation; and acoustics and noise suppression. The book also features an extensive glossary and convenient cross-referencing, plus references at the end of each chapter. Brimming with illustrations, equations, examples, and case studies, the Vibration and Shock Handbook is the most extensive, practical, and comprehensive reference in the field. It is a must-have for anyone, beginner or expert, who is serious about investigating and controlling vibration and acoustics.
