Book A Five by Fifteen Degree World Grid of Calculated Cosmic Ray Vertical Cutoff Rigidities for 1965 and 1975

Download or read book A Five by Fifteen Degree World Grid of Calculated Cosmic Ray Vertical Cutoff Rigidities for 1965 and 1975 written by M. A. Shea and published by . This book was released on 1975 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An updated five by fifteen degree world grid of trajectory-derived vertical cutoff rigidities for Epochs 1965 and 1975 has been calculated using the International Geomagnetic Reference Field with time derivatives applied for a 1975.0 Epoch. A comparison of these vertical cutoff rigidities with those calculated for Epoch 1955.0 shows that whereas minor changes in the cutoff rigidities (or about equal 0.20 GV) occur in many areas of the world over this 20-year interval, major changes ( 0.60 GV) occur in the Central and Southern Atlantic Ocean area and over the Central and South American land masses. While the changes in the Southern Hemisphere are primarily decreases in the vertical cutoff rigidities, there is an area in the Northern Hemisphere, principally in the Atlantic Ocean, where comparable increases in the vertical cutoff rigidities are calculated.

Book Tables of Vertical Cutoff Rigidities for Epochs 1955 and 1960

Download or read book Tables of Vertical Cutoff Rigidities for Epochs 1955 and 1960 written by M. A. Shea and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tables of vertical cutoff rigidities calculated using the trajectory-tracing technique are given for two epochs of the geomagnetic field. The Finch and Leaton magnetic field coefficients were used for Epoch 1955, and the Jensen and Cain coefficients were used for Epoch 1960. Each table includes the geographic coordinates and L value of each location together with the main cone cutoff rigidity, the Stormer cutoff rigidity, and the effective cutoff rigidity. Data for approximately 2900 locations on the earth are presented.

Book Vertical Cutoff Rigidity and the Intensity Distribution of Cosmic Rays Near Cape Town

Download or read book Vertical Cutoff Rigidity and the Intensity Distribution of Cosmic Rays Near Cape Town written by P. J. Koenig and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page 6 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A fairly sharp increase of 2.3% in the intensity of the nucleonic component of cosmic rays was observed at 30,000 feet pressure altitude along a contour of CONSTANT CALCULATED VERTICAL CUTOFF RIGIDITY ON A RESEARCH FLIGHT FROM Cape Town, South Africa, at 18 E longitude, to a point 2 W longitude. The increase seems to be an inherent feature of this region near the South Atlantic geomagnetic anomaly. Detailed cutoff rigidity calculations in vertical and inclined directions revealed that the observed increase may at least partly be ascribed to variation in effective cutoff rigidities along the route. However, the increase could also be attributed, at least as far as morphology is concerned, to the continuous precipitation in a restricted area of those high energy inner radiation belt protons that have short live-times. Book Asymptotic Directions and Vertical Cutoff Rigidities for Selected Cosmic ray Stations as Calculated Using the International Geomagnetic Reference Field Model Appropriate for Epoch 1975 0

Download or read book Asymptotic Directions and Vertical Cutoff Rigidities for Selected Cosmic ray Stations as Calculated Using the International Geomagnetic Reference Field Model Appropriate for Epoch 1975 0 written by M. A. Shea and published by . This book was released on 1975 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tables of asymptotic directions and vertical cutoff rigidities for a selected set of cosmic-ray stations are presented. These values were obtained by the integration of vertically incident cosmic-ray trajectories through the International Geomagnetic Reference Field model adjusted for a 1975.0 Epoch. The table of asymptotic directions contains the asymptotic latitudes and longitudes that specify the direction of approach from interplanetary space of a cosmic-ray particle. These asymptotic directions are given for specific rigidities above the main cone cutoff rigidity for each station, and at 0.01 GV rigidity intervals throughout the penumbra. Maps of the asymptotic directions for each station are also included. The table of vertical cutoff rigidities contains the geographic coordinates and L value of each cosmic-ray station together with the main cone cutoff rigidity, the Stormer cutoff rigidity, and the effective cutoff rigidity. Book Near earth Electromagnetic Environment and Natural Hazards Disturbances

Download or read book Near earth Electromagnetic Environment and Natural Hazards Disturbances written by Zeren Zhima and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2024-06-06 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Natural hazards, such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis, have threatened human communities throughout recorded history. Scientists still face a long-term challenge to reveal the natural hazards' preparation process and precisely predict their occurrences. With space technology development, in the early 1980s, some satellites recorded abnormal electromagnetic emissions, plasma density irregularities, and energetic particle precipitations over active seismic fault zones, volcanic belts, or tsunamis coast. Since then, continuous efforts have been paid to the rock-rupture-processing experiment, ground-space comparative studies. Especially for earthquake science, the electromagnetic precursors might be the most promising tool for the short-term (timescale of hours, days, and weeks) earthquake prediction. In late 2004, France launched the DEMETER (Detection of Electromagnetic (EM) Emissions Transmitted from Earthquake Regions) satellite, which successfully operated from 2004 to 2010. In Febr. 2018, China launched the first seismo-electromagnetism satellite (China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite, CSES) aimed for earthquake monitoring from space.
