Born and bred to be his master's mirror and guardian, when he was sent to find a human female, he didn't know what it would mean to fall in love with her. Hidden away on an island thought lost, Celine found paradise with a man she'd never known she wanted. But, love wasn't enough, not for the bonds of fealty her lover obeyed, or to keep him with her when he doubted his own worth. Her heart bruised by rejection, Celine set her course on a new path, determined not to let his absence break her. When he returns, wanting a chance to rekindle the flame between them and prove that his love for her was never in question, only his worth for the beautiful woman he wants as his mate, will the feelings she's never relinquished for him be enough to bind them back together? Is love enough to bring a human and a Fae together for eternity?

Book The Torn Veil

  • Author : Daniel M. Gurtner
  • Publisher : Cambridge University Press
  • Release : 2006-12-21
  • ISBN : 9781139463126
  • Pages : 332 pages

Download or read book The Torn Veil written by Daniel M. Gurtner and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2006-12-21 with total page 332 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this 2006 text, Daniel M. Gurtner examines the meaning of the rending of the veil at the death of Jesus in Matthew 27:51a by considering the functions of the veil in the Old Testament and its symbolism in Second Temple and Rabbinic Judaism. Gurtner incorporates these elements into a compositional exegesis of the rending text in Matthew. He concludes that the rending of the veil is an apocalyptic assertion like the opening of heaven revealing, in part, end-time images drawn from Ezekiel 37. Moreover, when the veil is torn Matthew depicts the cessation of its function, articulating the atoning role of Christ's death which gives access to God not simply in the sense of entering the Holy of Holies (as in Hebrews), but in trademark Matthean Emmanuel Christology: 'God with us'. This underscores the significance of Jesus' atoning death in the first gospel.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many in the Church are waiting with expectation for the second coming of Christ. The parable of the wedding feast in Matthew 22 tells us that the Church, the Bride, was invited to the wedding but didn’t come. In 2 Thessalonians, Paul warns that the second coming would be preceded by a “great falling away” and Matthew 24 says that if these days were not cut short then even the elect could be deceived. With thousands of Christian denominations preaching a different gospel, let us examine Scripture from the earliest perspective, which is that of the Early Church. The Early Church Fathers were the spiritual sons of the apostles, who learned directly from Jesus. They tell us what the end would be like and unlock the deeper meanings of Scripture. While many today are waiting to be “raptured,” these apostolic men believed that the glory of God would first manifest in His Church. The apocalypse, often misunderstood to mean the end of the world, is simply two Greek words put together: apo (to destroy) and kalypto (the veil). The Book of Revelation is about destroying the veil to enter back into the glory of God. These revelatory teachings were passed down and preserved for hundreds of years, yet for the most part the opposite is being taught in the body of Christ today. Jesus tells us in Matthew 17 that “Elijah is coming and will restore all things.” This Elijah spirit is upon us now to make the way straight through revelatory teaching of Scripture and to bring the fear of the Lord back to wake up the sleeping Church while there’s still time. The Early Church taught that without Elijah preparing and sealing the Church not one would be saved. At the same time, under the leadership of the Catholic Church, a second sealing is taking place, with all major Christian denominations coming into covenant with Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism, saying there are many ways to God. The great apostasy is here, but nothing will stop this final move of God. The world will see a full restoration of His glory on Earth as it is in heaven. Through revelation, or an apocalypse, let us step behind the veil to have full access to the glory of God and His redemptive plan for us as His children. For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea (Hab. 2:14).

Book Removing the Veil

Download or read book Removing the Veil written by Margaret English and published by Bridge Logos Foundation. This book was released on 2008 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Removing the Veil presents God's way for men and women to relate to each other, both in the leadership of Christ's Church and in the family. Through fine exegetical work, Margaret English has uncovered God's true framework for leadership, relationships, and family harmony. Removing the Veil: Helps women realize their gifts and callings, Explores women's roles in the Church's end-times work, Celebrates the gifts and benefits women bring to the Church. "As a young woman and new believer, recently delivered from much," English writes, "I experienced an intense sense of God's call to ministry. Yet, as I sought to find encouragement and support, I discovered only locked doors and insurmountable walls. The Church seemed to be standing over me with folded arms and pinched lips, doubting and rejecting a calling I could not deny. Endlessly, I questioned why? Why would the Lord call me to ministry by His Spirit, only to then surround me with a steel vault of teachings and attitudes that blocked my entrance and denied my gifts? I heard but one reply: 'Study the Scriptures regarding women.'... Each dya, for more than a decade, I sat at my kitchen table and studied the Bible's passages pertaining to women. I began with Proverbs 31. That was merely the first leg of my journey...." Removing the Veil reveals our history, our hearts, and our hope, and calls women of the Church to arise! Book jacket.

Book The Ministry of the Unveiled Face

Download or read book The Ministry of the Unveiled Face written by Janet E. Fichter and published by Ambassador International. This book was released on 2022-02-15 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus told His followers to go into the world and preach the Good News. However, many Christians aren’t fulfilling this Great Commission. The call to “evangelize” conjures up uncomfortable images of walking inner city streets with a megaphone. We don’t relish facing possible ridicule so prevalent in society today, so we hesitate to reach out. But we are called to witness. And it isn’t that difficult. When we anchor in the goodness of Christ, we realize that sharing the Gospel is a profound honor. The Ministry of the Unveiled Face grounds us in the simplicity of sharing Christ in the everyday. The meekness of the call lies in our being responsive and obedient to God’s prompting as we interact with others. Anchored in persevering prayer, we speak scriptural truths into the lives of others as the Holy Spirit leads. Like the unveiling of a beautiful bride at her wedding, the spiritual veil is removed and Christ’s truth and goodness are revealed.

Download or read book The Rapture Exposed written by Barbara R. Rossing and published by Basic Books. This book was released on 2007-03-30 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The idea of "The Rapture" -- the return of Christ to rescue and deliver Christians off the earth -- is an extremely popular interpretation of the Bible's Book of Revelation and a jumping-off point for the best-selling "Left Behind" series of books. This interpretation, based on a psychology of fear and destruction, guides the daily acts of thousands if not millions of people worldwide. In The Rapture Exposed, Barbara Rossing argues that this script for the world's future is nothing more than a disingenuous distortion of the Bible. The truth, Rossing argues, is that Revelation offers a vision of God's healing love for the world. The Rapture Exposed reclaims Christianity from fundamentalists' destructive reading of the biblical story and back into God's beloved community.
